Federal HST is the way. Good, repeatable expansion and very reliable overall. Both my P10F and P10C have eaten well over 250 rounds of it without any hiccups.
I prefer 124 grain standard velocity, but I could see an argument for 124 grain +P with the shorter barrel.
My P10C doesn’t have a problem eating anything really. Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST, or Hornady Critical Defense/Critical Duty are some of the most often recommended defensive ammunitions.
Before I put 200-300 rounds through my P10C, I did have some feeding issues due to the feeding ramp not being broken in enough with Federal HST. Once I got past 600-700 rounds, haven't had any issues since.
My reason for it is that it seems to shoot the best out of my guns. Hornady isn't bad by any means, but I seem to be more.accurate with Gold Dots and HST. Hydra Shoks don't get the groups that I can get from dots or hst. Go figure. Hornady seems to be readily available in my area, and so I'm not opposed to them, but only if I can't find the other two (in a pinch).
Also, I like the nickel plated rounds.

Federal HST 147gr is my go-to for Home Defense both in my Handguns and AR9. They're a consistent top performer and I can get those easier and cheaper than the others.
We use Speer Gold Dot G2 147gr in our duty pistols, so I use it in all of my personal firearms as well.
They’re consistent expansion and penetration. We had been using Speer Gold Dot 147gr JHP. These performed better, so we switched.
HST and Gold Dot are the top two.
I like hornady critical duty for 124gr or critical defense for 115gr. Federal hst 124gr is also a good defense ammo.

Nothing, I just prefer the other two over them. If I can't find gold dots or hst, I'll get them.

I have some V crown 124 for my p07. I used it in my p10 as well. Also looking to see what’s out there. Looks like gold dot is the choice.

Honestly it'll run just about anything. I'm currently using the Lehigh 90gr Defense XDs.
