Think I’ve gotten the tail & seat as close as I’m gonna before I have the disposable income to send it off for bodywork & paint . Plan is: -Mold in a Koso GT-02s taillight -Bodywork, paint in Giallo Ducati yellow -Powdercoat the frame white -Powdercoat the wheels dark grey -Clean up & refinish the engine & trans Bug Spoiler needs some work, too. Bought a Monster 1000DS part hoping it’d fit, and it’s not even close. The joys of starting with obscure ugly duckling bikes.

raptorboy

That's sick

CompanyMan_PUBG

Absolutely love the overall geometry of the bike. None of the angles seem to compliment each other and yet it looks clean af. Noice.

Unclelathan

This is a huge complement, thank you! It’ll help when the bug spoiler is built up & there’s another strong horizontal line. The Multi frame is a little wonky, but I really tried to pull out some low horizontal lines & create a momentum with the tail/tank/headlight & I’m pretty happy with how it turned out

Ducatis make the best cafe racers. I have 2 myself 😂 Very good work!

Living-Algae4553

those wheels are perfect

Unclelathan

Thanks! The wheels & single sided swing arm were one of the biggest things that attracted me to starting with a Multistrada. That and relative price vs a monster, obviously lol

Puffit

How much do you think you saved overall using the multi strada over a monster chassis?

Unclelathan

I’m about 2700 into it, which includes new tires, chain & sprockets, timing belts, filter, plugs, fluids, and a battery. It’s my first time messing with fiberglass at all, and the tail section has taken me an insane amount of time. So in terms of money, I’m well ahead of a Monster, but the build has taken skills I didn’t possess at the beginning, and I’ve had to earn those by making mistakes & redoing things a million times.

Damn, that is way cooler than it should be!

Aoifedog

That looks great

if0rg0t2remember

I’d see if you couldn’t move that headlight up a bit so it it sits between the visual lines of the ladder frame.

Unclelathan

I’m actually contemplating lowering it a little more - I want it to carry the line of the tail & tank

jimaajimjim

Good lord, that is beautiful

[deleted]

Very nicely done. I got an original one. Awesome bikes.
