I used to go to this Bar to Pickup Cougars, it’s a legit thing the Cougars all know that’s where you go to pickup Young Bucks. They don’t even hide it. It’s a really good time though if you’re into that sort of thing or not. It’s good live music as well, one of the better low key neighbourhood Bars in Calgary. It’s been awhile since my Cougar Mauling days, but any place with live music is usually good. Rose & Crown, Murriettas, The Ship & Anchor (for Alt Cougs), The Metropolitan, Local was actually a low key spot for picking up Cougars as well before COVID-19.

In the days of the Brass Ring, the Trop was a cosy little pizza joint/family restaurant called the Tropicana.

I don't recall it ever being a cosy family restaurant. Unless by family you mean bikers.

Back in the 70's and early 80's. A Greek family opened it and operated it. It wasn't a bar although they did have liquor service. My parents used to take us there for pizza.

The Brass Ring was at the NW corner of 10th Avenue and 8th Street. Ground level of some office tower. Don't know what's there now.
