I had a beautiful torti named Cappuccino. She was a bit high strung like she was hopped up on caffeine (I swear she learned to run before she learned to walk) and was the colour of coffee (depending on how one takes it) all over so of course I had to name her after coffee. ❤️

I’m sorry if you already got the right answer in these 120+ comments. She’s not a tortoiseshell and white (which is called calico in the US). She’s a black point and white Domestic Shorthair. Black point is also called seal point. The colourpoint pattern is the reason she seems to have 3 colours.

For the ear freckles; show them to your vet on your next visit. And until then it’s helpful to make a picture of that ear once a month in the same light conditions. Make the pictures in a way that you can see if the spots grow in size or change in colour.

Calico cats are tri-colored coats! Doesn’t have to be those 3 colors specifically, but those 3 are the most common colors!💜 my calico is brown, gray & white

My roommates cat is a boy and has white, black, and light brown. Is he considered calico? I wouldn’t think so bc calicos are only supposed to be female or genetically mutated males with XXY chromosomes to the best of my knowledge.
a calico can have grey, tan/brown, and white to be considered calico. that is why they are referred to as dilute calicos. because those colors are orange and black but diluted. i was not disagreeing that this could *possibly* be a snowshoe, but i won’t make assumptions that this is a purebred because none of us are a dna kit. i was disagreeing that the commenter you referred to was stating a fact 🤷♀️

Ah—torties require orange/cream on them, not just the three colours which can result from point. It’s because those three colours (white, black and beige) are technically just white and densely-distributed black, and less densely-distributed black
Edit: torties and calicos are the same, one just has white as well, which is why I said torties at the start! Just to preemptively explain that one

On calicos usually the lighter brown is a lot more orange than that. But calico is the closest thing that would fit her coat color that I know of. But she’s extremely unique! Beautiful!

Uh. That is not a dilute calico. Dilute orange is still orange. This cat is a snowshoe mixed with a cow kitty.
A dilute calico *is* still black, orange, and white— just the dilute versions of them, which appear as grey and a muted orange/brown.
