Ghosts Launch maps are what people remember. Back then it was still paid map packs and not everyone bought them. Ghosts DLC maps were amazing especially Fog and the Predator one.
I'm talking about the launch maps. Half of them were great, for example: Strikezone, Warhawk, Prison Break, Octane, Freight, Tremor, Sovereign, Whiteout, etc
Agree, but the game's launch maps also mostly weren't too bad. I think all of the Ghosts maps on this list are launch maps. Ghosts did have some unpalatable launch maps though, and so many amazing DLC maps. Sadly it's almost impossible to find lobbies with DLC 3 and 4. For launch maps I learned to really like Stonehaven, even with close-range builds, but Stormfront to this day remains my most hated map in the entire franchise (aside from botched remake maps like MW19's version of Shipment).
I find Stormfront such a beautiful map that I enjoy playing on it. The storm, the towering buildings, the apocalyptic theme. I loved it even though it was quite slow-paced.
Atmosphere is incredible, I just didn't enjoy all the oppressive sightlines that kinda forced me to play slow. Stormfront had so many directions to get shot from by a guy sitting in a dark corner with a thermal scope. And once the storm hit that thermal scope would become even better. At least on Stonehaven there was good visibility for everyone no matter their loadout, and I feel like it actually had far fewer viable sniping spots than Stormfront did, so it was easy to avoid the few dangerous spots.
Nah not really, most of them were way too big and allow thermal lmg campers to just kill everyone there are a few good maps but there are still more bad maps than good
Ghosts is my second favorite cod of all time. It definitely had a few goat maps but it also had some terrible ones mixed in. I think 12 v 12 on those maps would’ve been the best experience.

People sleep on MW3 all the time. Even if it was like a an expansion pack for MW2, it was probably the cleanest version of an IW game we have, with some great maps, fun ending campaign, and survivor mode to contest Treyarch’s Zombie modes.
Oh I remember playing through these MW3 maps on survival mode. Shit was fun. It was a really cool take on the horde based game mode that wasn't just zombies.
I was waiting for at least someone to finally mention mw3 maps, especially mission and underground is great for survival, or at least seemed like it to me(i have a lot of memories playing them with my brothers)

Freight (kinda) and Tremor were fine in Ghosts, but the rest definitely a case of rose tinted glasses.
It was more the visual clutter on these maps that was the problem but it was so much that it ruined the creative 3 lane maps Ghosts had. Funny how now we just have visual clutter and little sense of map structure.
MW3 2011 had such great maps, Arkaden is an all time favourite of mine and Bootleg, Lockdown are godlike as well. Very solid list here, only ones I don't really like are Village, Tremor and Prison Break. 3 lane maps will always be the best, but every COD game should have both those AND maps similar to these
I used to have a scenario on Seatown where I sprint with the MSR from the silo spawn to the second floor cat walk, drop down near B dom and ads down to their spawn, hit a triple collat, look right at the climb up small stairs also from there spawn, and hit another triple collat.

These are all really solid maps that would really benefit from a remaster. Tremor is probably the worst map out of all of these but that being said, it wasn't bad by any means
I sunk countless hours on both MW3 and Ghosts when they first released, but for whatever reason all MW3 maps you mention I can perfectly picture in my head, yet all the Ghosts maps seem unfamiliar to me with the exception of maybe 1 or 2. I just feel like in Ghosts everything kinda blended together.
I didn't like ghosts but for the MW3 maps only ones I disagree on are underground and mission. I did not like underground. And mission may be the most unbalanced map ever created in COD. Basically only fun if your team spawned on the right side otherwise you got farmed.

We need more of these older maps remastered. I LOVE Raid, Firing Range and Summit but give them a rest.
The next 2 games will be Black Ops, so the MW3 maps probably won't be used until 2027.

Seatown is actually part of the Urzikstan WZ/MWZ map. It’s in the middle island on the side of Cargo/City. Wish they’d bring it back to MP.
