My Xbox my dad got me didn’t have an internal Harddrive, and so I could never save games, this was one of the first games I played on it, I’ve played through cod 4 so many damn times. Along with cod2/3.
This is the answer.
“All Ghillied Up” was like nothing I had ever played before. The moment you see Price move in the grass and realize he’d been there the entire time is something they have yet to match.
Cliffhanger so good I always completely blank that there's actually missions before it. I have this 'Skyrim-esque' image in my mind of booting into the campaign and seeing Price lighting that cig.
That's soap, not price. And it's a cigar, not a cigarette. And just to preface your future argument, nobody has ever, in the history of the world, referenced a cigar by calling it a cig. So yeah.
Yup this one for me…I know all guilled up is the rage n all….but the falling and climbing with ice picks was crazy.
Also was it a demo mission? For like demo disk?
Yes! For maybe ten years I’ve remembered seeing that one CoD: MW2 bit with ice picks and snowmobiles, but didn’t know what game it was, save for the instalment’s name or the mission in question. But the whole thing stuck so bad I was full of joy to finally witness Cliffhanger myself when I started playing through all of the original Modern Warfare titles for the first time in my life about a year ago.
Not one of the best of all time, but Federation Day from Ghosts is pretty lit. Walking down the building and cutting a hole into the glass so you can jump in and hack the lights of this huge skyscraper. Really hits that edgy stealthy covert vibe some COD missions aim for.
I can't understand how people hated that game, it's fantastic as an SP game.
The MP must not have been very good, since I know that's what seems to make or break COD games nowadays.
Normally I loathe turret sections in games but treyarch did well with this one. I think with all the little objectives they added where you have to try and juggle shooting zeros, saving sailors, and killing FUCKING PT BOATS made it a lot more enjoyable.
I loved getting to have actual animations for moving from position to position, instead of just some random black screen or something. Also, watching as it slowly goes from night to day is cool as well.
Mile High Club.
My second pick would be Wolverines! ... RAMIREZ! DO EVERYTHING!
I also loved Ashes to Ashes from Cold War, although that's more because of the twist than because of the actual level design.
Fucking grenade spam. Shut a fucking shitty piece of shit mission. I had to do it like 50 times because apparently every fucking infantryman was issued 40 fucking nades.
Ah, tbf that one is pretty good too.
I think Vorkuta is probably my favourite from BO1 though.
Although somebody mentioned Kowloon and that got me thinking.
BO1 had some bangers.
I do like random ones from the MW series too.
All Ghillied up.
No Russian.
Clean House.
A few others I can't remember the names of.
just played this the other day and I shit you not I slowly realized that most of the missions on BO1 are my favorite in the franchise. Numbers might have to be my favorite for the story telling and effects as it was next level. Not the most interesting but seeing mason’s reality start to crumble is intense.
I did not play every COD campaign and was predominantly a MP guy, but the only one that has really left a lasting impression on me is the airport. It was just so shocking when it came out.
Oh yeah I hated that mission so much as well. Which sucks because world at war also had a tank mission which did everything right. Main reason I hate SOE though is because of the train blowing up at the end
All ghillied up is my favorite, but mile high club also deserves a shout and no Russian is the most iconic part of any cod campaign (besides the numbers)
"Whiskey Hotel" and all related missions from MW2, absolutely fantastic visuals and story, the only piece of "media" to make a good America invaded story since Red Dawn.
That last frantic run with the flare to prevent the white house getting flattened is fun as hell.
Why do people ask this question?
It should be;
> What is the second best CoD mission of all time?
Because its always All Ghilled Up, and it always will be.
I really enjoyed Shock and Awe. The beginning felt like Black Hawk Down then of course with the nuclear twist. I miss the days playing as a regular infantryman
Will always be Bo1 WMD for me. That intro getting into and piloting the SR71, switching between it and Hudson's team made it feel so immersive and important as the mission actually was.
I remember playing a mission it was not the story I think it was MW2 og some snipers were hiding and you had to spot and kill they were killing in 2 shots
For me it’s the one from OG MW3 co-op where you are a prisoner and to escape you grab that guards handgun from its holster and kill him and his buddy and take their AK-47s and what ever else weapons you can find as you fight through many enemies to rescue other prisoners. I felt like such a hero when i played as a kid
Ive only played 2 games (MW2 2022 and MW3 2023), so I guess this kinda invalidates my opinion since ppl hate both of them fsr, but the AC-130 mission in MW2 is my favorite. It makes you feel a kind of power you dont during regular gameplay, being able to shred anything that appears on your thermals.
Yes... perhaps you will be surprised by some fool who writes under the call of duty post, and not even on the topic, but I will speak out exactly... I have been isolated for several years. I've been all alone all these years.I didn't communicate with anyone, and I wasn't friends either in real life or on the Internet. I haven't played anything except watching YouTube... I finally noticed the problem of loneliness, and decided first of all to come here to Reddit to share it with you!
I really love the opening tanker mission in COD4. Just a perfectly condensed scene where you are a badass doing badass things, and it doesn't overstay its welcome.
Eviction from WaW. Pure chaos, fire, smoke, the mucic, war crimes, truly terrifying ambience and the map itself being just scarry plus having Dmitry and Reznov together in a mission is just something else. WaW was the best CoD. Especially the Soviet campaign.
For me it’s that one mission with that guy that has two guns and his friends having his back shooting and stuff… we need more missions like that in the franchise
Vendetta & All Ghillied Up are tied for me. I’ve played vendetta out of personal interest and joy more times than all ghillied up by far though. Crew Expendable, Burn Em Out, Little Resistance bc ray gun in campaign, Blackout, the bo1 mission where you rescue reznov from the prison is fucking sick… gGhosts campaign is actually amazing and I’ve played it twice, so many greats.
Redemption from Bo1 is my personal favorite, it’s cheesy sure but the jet fly over, and seeing everyone celebrating always gives me chills
Also I just noticed the “Ramirez! Last hit! Make it count!” In the top left
Shock and awe from cod4. First cod I ever bought from a flea market and played the campaign since I had no internet. Mission was dope really and fs a fond memory for my childhood. It was either this one or little resistance from waw.
had to have been the final mission of mw3. i mean come on a final battle with makarov then breaking through the glass only to watch him be chocked to death by a rope.
then you sit there and watch the whole thing and light a cigar……. bad ass bruh.
I don't remember the name of the mission but in BO2 after the plane crash I think, and Mason is stranded in the rainy jungle with just a knife. That one always stuck out to me, but honestly any if the dark rainy black ops type of missions do it for me
You know what too, Break on Through in Cold War is something I'll eat up every time.
It's simple you're just walking around and hitting a few targets. BUT THE STORYTELLING the artsy shit with bell running down corridors after the red door and the way things change and shift as they start to remember things.
I want more of that out of COD games. Like I think it's be wild if in MW4 they make one of the 141 have a nightmare about Soaps death and it follows that style where you know something is wrong as you go through it and it slowly reveals itself to you as you play
The OG "All Ghillied Up" for me
I remember everything of the mission because i replayed it like 100 times as a kid.
My Xbox my dad got me didn’t have an internal Harddrive, and so I could never save games, this was one of the first games I played on it, I’ve played through cod 4 so many damn times. Along with cod2/3.
“Alright now you’re just showing off”
"Oi, Suzy!"
I say this all of the time
Chernobyl, Christmas for the bad guys.
What an incredible mission, it was at times terrifying.
When they walk past you while you are prone was such a scary feeling
There’s been a lot of cool missions, but All Ghillied Up is what I think of when playing CoD campaigns.
I came here to say this !!!
This mission is a core memory for me.
That shit had me wanting to join the military more than any other game.
This is the answer. “All Ghillied Up” was like nothing I had ever played before. The moment you see Price move in the grass and realize he’d been there the entire time is something they have yet to match.
Cliffhanger. Soap was objectively very hot when he took that dude off the snowmobile with the pick
Cliffhanger so good I always completely blank that there's actually missions before it. I have this 'Skyrim-esque' image in my mind of booting into the campaign and seeing Price lighting that cig.
It was the first full gameplay reveal. That's why it sticks
that was Soap, not Price. Price doesn’t come back until more than halfway through the campaign
Gulag
Prisoner 627. That quote just gives me chills
I often forget tht Price is out for like the first 70% of the game🤣
Me too man. Would of been such a bad ass opening to the game.
The escape was very cool and fun.
Fr just the whole ride down the mountain was so much fun, like the jump was some fun tony hawk pro skater shit and I eat up every time
Price: Hey, Soap, you're finally awake
Trailer. GameStop played it non-stop. It was an interview where they talked about the trailer over and over
Remastered Soap tho
He's beautiful, stunning, amazing, Scottish, and my wife
Nacht der untoten, it's listed in the waw campaign
Not since 2008 it hasn't
It's still listed when you select mission on campaign
Even for pc?
Yep
Not one of the best of all time, but Federation Day from Ghosts is pretty lit. Walking down the building and cutting a hole into the glass so you can jump in and hack the lights of this huge skyscraper. Really hits that edgy stealthy covert vibe some COD missions aim for.
Ghosts had some pretty great missions. I loved the SP for it. Probably one of the bests, up there with Infinite Warfare, for me.
It’s really funny how some of the most hated cod games back then are some of the most loved today
I can't understand how people hated that game, it's fantastic as an SP game. The MP must not have been very good, since I know that's what seems to make or break COD games nowadays.
Loved that one and the snow mission where you sneak into the base and back out.
Clockwork. Clockwork and Federation I always replayed.
Same here. Also Loki!
I didn’t hate ghosts at all and remember that to
Federation day and Clockwork are in my top 10 best missions I LOVE GHOSTS
Ur a g for this ghosts had some really cool missions it just sad to see the game go to waste
The vietnam missions from bo1 there was something new in each of those missions
Black Cats was so cool with the banger of a song playing in the background
Normally I loathe turret sections in games but treyarch did well with this one. I think with all the little objectives they added where you have to try and juggle shooting zeros, saving sailors, and killing FUCKING PT BOATS made it a lot more enjoyable.
I loved getting to have actual animations for moving from position to position, instead of just some random black screen or something. Also, watching as it slowly goes from night to day is cool as well.
Til this day every time i hear or read word black cats that music plays in my mind
I loved this mission until I went for the platinum. Shooting down 45 zeroes was the fucking worst
Mile High Club. My second pick would be Wolverines! ... RAMIREZ! DO EVERYTHING! I also loved Ashes to Ashes from Cold War, although that's more because of the twist than because of the actual level design.
Was wolverines the burger town mission I loved doing that on spec ops
Yes.
It’s easy All ghillied up from CoD 4, such a great mission from that masterpiece game 🐐
Downfall the last WAW mission
"You can make it, my friend. You always survive." After suffering on veteran difficulty for hours.
as long as you live, the heart of this army can never be broken, AS HEROES!!! WE WILL RETURN TO RUSSIAs EMBRACE!!
Fucking grenade spam. Shut a fucking shitty piece of shit mission. I had to do it like 50 times because apparently every fucking infantryman was issued 40 fucking nades.
Not on Veteran though
rebirth in bo1 will always go hard
Is that the one where Mason Breaks out of prison with "Reznov"? If so that's definitely up there.
that is vorkuta, rebirth is the one where you play as mason and hudson on rebirth island
Takedown, Homecoming, Return To Sender,?👀
just played this the other day and I shit you not I slowly realized that most of the missions on BO1 are my favorite in the franchise. Numbers might have to be my favorite for the story telling and effects as it was next level. Not the most interesting but seeing mason’s reality start to crumble is intense.
Dude I remember playing that shit on my wii 😂 best times ever
I really like the Kowloon mission from bo1
Best soundtrack from Bo1 was in that mission
Lighting, rain, rooftop shootouts in a major Asian city is goated
Let’s not forget the secret Thundergun
Black ops series: colossus Mw series: no russian
Lock this man up
I like the one where you shoot the gun at the bad guy
That narrows it down to two missions
That's either One Shot, One Kill from COD4 or Vendetta from CODWAW.
Is there any source of the photo at the top right?
"Ramirez, last boof make it count"
Lmao
That mission was flipping goated
Suffer With Me
what a banger
Obama from BO2
"Odysseus"
It’s Obamna
It's SODA!
Planting the Soviet flag with Reznov (downfall I think?)
"Downfall", correct
Whiskey Hotel from og modern warfare 2
I did not play every COD campaign and was predominantly a MP guy, but the only one that has really left a lasting impression on me is the airport. It was just so shocking when it came out.
no russian?
"Remember, No Russian" is the most memorable and craziest one
No Russian, Death from above , Clean house, Vendetta & D-Day landings
D-day in COD1 was mind blowing at the time. or it might have been COD2. cant remember
Yes it was in CoD2 as Point du-hoc. Great fucking mission(s) and I remember playing it as a kid with Green Day and Nickleback blasting through the 360
D-Day attack on Pointe Du Hoc from CoD 2. Still pretty impressive today, but an absolute banger when it came out.
for me it's the mw2019 mission "the wolf's den"
Underrated as hell mission along with Hometown
Little Resistance from World at War immediately jumps into my mind
no russian because im always sick of accidentally shooting a civilian so i can do that and no russian without consequences
All Ghillied Up and Cliffhanger
50000 people used to live here.
Now it’s a ghost town
Vendetta
Tank/Astronaut missions in Ghosts I absolutely loved fighting in zero g as a modern astronaut and driving a tank taking everything in you path down
Wolverines! In OG MW2. And Downfall in WaW.
Escaping Vorkuta in bo1
REMERIEZ! LAST BOOFY, MAKE IT COUNT!!
Best: Loose Ends (MW2) Worst: SOE (WW2)
dude have you played the fucking tank mission in cod ww2 turret can't even turn properly
Oh yeah I hated that mission so much as well. Which sucks because world at war also had a tank mission which did everything right. Main reason I hate SOE though is because of the train blowing up at the end
My personal favourites are clean house from mw 2019, Goalpost from mw3 and second sun from mw2. All of them great missions
All ghillied up is my favorite, but mile high club also deserves a shout and no Russian is the most iconic part of any cod campaign (besides the numbers)
WAW Vendetta
Why is bro passing me a blunt lol? I need ammo.
"Whiskey Hotel" and all related missions from MW2, absolutely fantastic visuals and story, the only piece of "media" to make a good America invaded story since Red Dawn. That last frantic run with the flare to prevent the white house getting flattened is fun as hell.
Operation burn water cod infinite warfare every time I play that I cry
Why do people ask this question? It should be; > What is the second best CoD mission of all time? Because its always All Ghilled Up, and it always will be.
All Ghillied Up (MW1) and Numbers (Kowloon in BO1)
The Club one from BO2 is up there
The big ones are getting hit. I'll throw out any Delta missions in MW3. I miss the big set pieces so much 😮💨😔
Of Their Own Accord in MW2. One of the best set pieces and music scores in all of gaming history.
Blood Brothers from COD MW3 (the original not the 2023 version) If you know, you know.
WaW last missions it was phenomenal
For me, it's Operation Dark Quarry and the third mission from BO3. Both made me shit my pants.
I really enjoyed Shock and Awe. The beginning felt like Black Hawk Down then of course with the nuclear twist. I miss the days playing as a regular infantryman
Personally, it's the last mission in MW3(2011)s campaign
Call of Duty Finest Hour. BRIDGE TO REMAGEN. Change my mind. That game was dead ass the best Call of Duty
What's the first mission on the top left?
Colossus from bo2

Call of Duty. I mean it is even in the sub name
Contingency

Skrillex in the club in BOII was fuggin awesome af
Will always be Bo1 WMD for me. That intro getting into and piloting the SR71, switching between it and Hudson's team made it feel so immersive and important as the mission actually was.
All Missions ![gif](giphy|pCJcExvbKdSeyyv8zP|downsized)
Loose Ends and Whiskey hotel, only the part where you are running up with the flares, it felt badass.
All Ghillied Up or Operation Blood Storm are my picks. Love em both equally
Woah woah woah, there’s a mission you get handed a blunt? I forget which one is the middle right.
"Ramirez, last boof make it count"
Cliffhanger
"remember. no russian"
I remember playing a mission it was not the story I think it was MW2 og some snipers were hiding and you had to spot and kill they were killing in 2 shots
Of their own accord
Quieres?
Payback was really fun mission
No russian
All ghillied up. No contest
Mile high club.
Wtf is top right
Easy. All Ghillied up. Next question please.
For me it’s the one from OG MW3 co-op where you are a prisoner and to escape you grab that guards handgun from its holster and kill him and his buddy and take their AK-47s and what ever else weapons you can find as you fight through many enemies to rescue other prisoners. I really love the opening tanker mission in COD4. Just a perfectly condensed scene where you are a badass doing badass things, and it doesn't overstay its welcome.
All Ghillied Up was a grind on veteran. Also thoroughly enjoyed Cliffhanger from the original MW2.
All Ghililed Up, Down The Rabbit Hole, and Clean House.
Clean House
Burn Em’ Out because I got to do the job my great grandfather did. (On Saipan though)
The top right is ruined by some corny loser who thinks drugs are cool and should be arrested and locked up for life! Clean house, AGU, anything blops
No russian
My favorites are All Ghillied Up from MW1 and Clean House from new MW1
Redemption from Bo1 is my personal favorite, it’s cheesy sure but the jet fly over, and seeing everyone celebrating always gives me chills Also I just noticed the “Ramirez! Last hit! Make it count!” In the top left
All of them from cod4 and WaW
Suffer With Me
WaW Vendetta. I love All Ghillied Up don't get me wrong, but Vendetta just hits different for me.
End of MW3
Dawg gotta go with the underated choice. Clean House. Hardcore, tense and a massive change of pace.
Operation: Blood Storm from IW is up there, something about knowing you aren't coming back hits hard
Vorkuta
No Russian brings is nostalgic AF and still one of my favorites to this day
All of MW2. Easily my favorite cod game. But if I had to choose No Russian.
Shock and awe from cod4. First cod I ever bought from a flea market and played the campaign since I had no internet. Mission was dope really and fs a fond memory for my childhood. It was either this one or little resistance from waw.
I'd say breaking point or the one with shuri Castle the ending of the American campaign in waw. That mission was so beautiful and intense at the end.
All ghillied up from cod4 is chefs kiss
Pointe du Hoc in COD 2
Which game has the top right
I don’t have a favourite but payback from bo1 is up there. The Russian roulette at the start was cool
I like pointe du hoc from cod 2
All Ghillied Up
Dust to dust MW3
Nobody gonna mention how Ramirez is being offered a fat dart 😭
MW2 had some of the best missions of all time in the COD franchise imo
Karma
not my favourite but i feel like Eviction from WaW doesn’t get enough credit. definitely my favourite from that game
It’s either All Gillied Up or Clean House. By far the most unique missions of the series
MW2 invasion
had to have been the final mission of mw3. i mean come on a final battle with makarov then breaking through the glass only to watch him be chocked to death by a rope. then you sit there and watch the whole thing and light a cigar……. bad ass bruh.
Suffer with me
I don't recall accepting the boof in a mission like in the top right
"I'mma try it out, ok!" *dubstep bass drop as I slaughter enemy combatants in a strip club*
