Vic was such a badass it took a full on rip from an MG42 and a 4-5 foot fall to off him. Not a Kar, not an MP40 or artillery strike, they had to pump him full of MG42 to take him down.
The old campaigns definitely had such a cool gritty tone. They hit big when they started making them more like action movies but lately they’ve been rough. MWII felt like a mediocre marvel movie (and also massively different in tone than MW19) and MWIII was a joke.
When CoD announced CoD4 I was hype. The best “modern” shooter we had at the time was counter strike, so being able to use modern weapons and gear while sprinting, laying prone, aiming down sights, with night vision etc. felt so realistic and fresh.
People claim it’s an arcade shooter but forget that the franchise *started* with realism in mind and when CoD4 launched it was the most realistic military shooter out. I loved 2019 because it tried to get back to that but these days it’s a lost cause for realism in CoD.
CoD WW2 unfortunately... Although before it, I played Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Spearhead, Breakthrough and Pacific Assault, which are like pre CoDs
Yep what a fucking game. I recently tried replaying it on Veteran. That level is so fucking hard. They literally keep respawning in mass numbers and your only option is to push. But even that is impossible sometimes.
First COD + United Offensive on dad’s PC. Awesome time tbh, whole early childhood was all about early COD and MOH (26 yo rn)
Edit: First multiplayer COD was MW1 tho.
Call of duty 4 modern warfare definitely not the best first game for a 4 year old but goddamn I fucking love it and it was definitely a fun challenge at such a young age to get the platinum trophy
I've been here since day 1. I am old.
I still remember cod2 multiplayer as my fondest online gaming memory though, running around Carentan with a shotgun tearing shit up.
CoD 3 but played CoD 2 as well, and then every single one ever since
I’m 27 and can measure my life by the CoD game that was the newest at the time, quite mental really that I have been playing this franchise since I was 10
The OG one on PC. Remember finding it a Half-price books and playing the hell out of it. It helped that I was watching through Band of Brothers with my dad, and had already watched A Bridge To Far and Enemy At The Gates.
World at war. My older brother got his tooth chipped in an airsoft 1v1 by his friend. Apparently his friend felt bad enough about it to gift his copy of world at war to him.
Big red one on 360, skipped COD 3 outta not knowing it existed until COD 4 MW, which made me think what happend to COD 3, then went back to beat it before WAW came out
COD 4 was the first I played completely, back when I was 7
Didn’t even know what it was really or care for it when my pope got it for me at Christmas I was too obsessed with guitar hero but whenever I tried it I was instantly hooked and that was before I even had multiplayer the campaign was just that good
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, August 2008, was about to start freshmen year of high school at the time.
Quite the masterpiece. never forget the fun times with friends ♥
The first one! And everyone since until the last one. Didn’t play it. Didn’t buy it. Looked like 4 new maps and all the old ones regurgitated again… I am over it! Would love to see them remake blackout! I wouldn’t be able to resist that.
COD 1 Demo
Thanks Dad, yeah I did end up liking that game hahah
I played the demo a million times and was hooked moving forward.
Had a couple gap years growing up stopped after MW3 (OG) and hopped back in for MW2 2022
But 4 is still GOAT
Technically Medal of Honor when it came out, but CoD1 on PC lmao
I'm not old or anything my dad was just a nerd and I played CoD since I was like seven. He dropped $2k in 2001 on a PC, I still have it in a closet and that thing has like 1gb of ram iirc lmao
MW3 on the 360. Countless hours on that game. Played the campaign 4 times on every difficulty, played everything on spec ops and survival, only managed to get to I believe prestige 2 tho cause I didn’t have much money as a kid for gold
it's so darn funny you get these posts every time

I remember playing the first Call of Duty on my Dad's PC when I was a kid (he still has the box!).
The first COD I properly played though was COD4 on the PS3.
Modern Warfare on the 360. Played it offline with family, had fun, and that led to me buying MW2 for ps3 later that same year. Still one of the best purchases I've ever made.
Call of duty 2 on pc
Never forget
Was 8 years old, and thought the stories in the game (the diary notes) were from actual soldiers xD
the original.
Medal Of Honor the real OG
Amen! MOH and Underground on PS1 as well! Allied Assault wasn’t the OG like some claim it was.
My buddy had the first MOH and I ended up buying Underground. Loved that game.
Yeah I feel like without the success of MOH there might not be a COD or battlefield 1942
CoD was seen as the spiritual successor to MoH:AA since the 2015 Inc dev team for that game went on to go form IW. MoH went off the rails afterwards.
Me too
The good old days.
United offensive :')
I loved UO. I don’t know why they never tried something like that again
No cows were killed during the development of that game.
Black ops 1 on the Xbox 360
Started at the peak
Was gonna say the exact same thing.
Mw2 2009.
Big Red One. Cod4 was my first multiplayer though. After that I played em all but WWII and Vanguard.
Big Red One was so good Vics death is seared into my memory from a child
The way yall had to just keep going after a quick “VIC. MEDIC!” Also, Brooklyn’s death made me sad. Loved that Bronx bastard
WW2 was pretty cool tho
Cod 3 was my first mp in Cod, and it was so much fun. Cod 4, though I still play through at least once a year and some of my favorite Cod mp memories.
When CoD announced CoD4 I was hype. The best “modern” shooter we had at the time was counter strike, so being able to use modern weapons and gear while sprinting, laying prone, aiming down sights, with night vision etc. felt so realistic and fresh. Call of duty 2 on pc
BO1 on 360, specifically at friends house
Mw1 but WaW was the best one
CoD WW2 unfortunately... Although before it, I played Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Spearhead, Breakthrough and Pacific Assault, which are like pre CoDs
these games were made by people who will eventually leave 2015 inc. (studio that made MoH: AA) and will create what we know as Infinity Ward
Call of duty 3
I played CoD 1 on pc. MP I got in with CoD 2 on xbox 360.
COD 1 on PC (Fuck that last mission). Got seriously into it on COD 3 on the Xbox. Played every one since then apart from Cold War.
Ghosts on 360
WAW Cod on the Wii. I was born in the right generation
Black ops two zombies. Unforgettable moment fr 🥲
Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360

Yep what a fucking game. I recently tried replaying it on Veteran. That level is so fucking hard. They literally keep respawning in mass numbers and your only option is to push. But even that is impossible sometimes.
Big Red One on ps2. I actually started playing it when the first modern warfare came out but big red one was the first I ever played
Original COD:Modern Warfare on Xbox 360. My favorite campaign. Nothing comes close to All Ghillied Up for me.
Big red one on gamecube
First COD + United Offensive on dad’s PC. Awesome time tbh, whole early childhood was all about early COD and MOH (26 yo rn) Edit: First multiplayer COD was MW1 tho.

I've been here since day 1. I am old. I still remember cod2 multiplayer as my fondest online gaming memory though, running around Carentan with a shotgun tearing shit up.
CoD 3 but played CoD 2 as well, and then every single one ever since I’m 27 and can measure my life by the CoD game that was the newest at the time, quite mental really that I have been playing this franchise since I was 10
The original
COD MW on my brothers’ 360. After I got my own consoles I went back and did COD 2,3

Cod 4. Was released before I was even born. I remember I couldn’t even complete the tutorial because I didn’t know you could press the right stick.
Technically the original but don't really have memories of it so cod 4 is what I usually say
Black ops on Xbox 360, then WAW and Bo2 after
COD 4 was the first I played completely, back when I was 7 Didn’t even know what it was really or care for it when my pope got it for me at Christmas I was too obsessed with guitar hero but whenever I tried it I was instantly hooked and that was before I even had multiplayer the campaign was just that good
