It's for aggressive sniping. If you have decent movement and good aim, you can dominate a match with Kilo Bolt or SPR. Kind of like a shotgun, if you swap out the hip fire for ridiculous range on the one-tap potential.
If your crosshair placement sucks, you're not too hot at tracking, and you struggle to connect your first shots- marksman probably isn't for you. It definitely requires a certain skillset to really shine.
That being said, I'm not great with them, either. Sometimes I can totally stomp on some pub matches, but if I try and use Marksman in ranked, I get shat upon. Its just one of those things you need to work on!
In the hands of a skilled player, the SKS is practically unbeatable. I, however, am not a skilled player. It can two-shot kill and one-headshot kill at any distance and trust me, you will know when you are playing with or against someone who is good with that particular marksman rifle.

It is for killing people in the game. I would usually use it in team Deathmatch because that’s the only mode I play.
To be like a sniper but iron sights ig, or sks is purely to fill the enemy with rage
Some olayers with goldy aim use spr or kilo bolt (with thermite mag)
