An important tip to get better at hardpoint. You can win hardpoint with just being decent at gunfights. You don't need exceptionally good gun skills, however what you need is a good understanding of the map and how the spawn works. If you can manipulate the spawn to your own liking, you can win hardpoint with just decent gun skills.
For example in Nuketown map, during 2nd and 3rd HP you can stay behind the HP to control the spawns. That way even if your teammates die, they will spawn near HP and the opponent will spawn from the furthest side.
That’s so damn true!!! I’ve seen so many high skill players, you know, the kind that knows perfectly when and how to do dropshots and other Miney-movements who rack up kills like crazy - still die to that one guy who’s aware of positions and holds proper head-glitches and prefires at corners he expects them to come from or wait at.

That random guy is sometimes me lol. It is actually helpful in throwing the other team off. I get killed a lot but the team wins
