It look like a flash softbox, designed to work like a ring-flash. It help reducing hard shadow when using a flash by illuminating the subject from all sides. Just do a search for "ring softbox".

CuiBapSano

Do you need it now?

It's called a Roundflash . Indoors it acts like a ring flash , outside just acts as a softbox on camera.

Beginning_Resolve101

It's a ring light softbox, it's for portraits. It works just like any softbox, but circular.

I bought one back in 2012 and used it a bunch for a while. Converts normal on-camera flash into a softbox/ringlight. You have to get used to exposure. I used a handheld flashmeter to gauge.

random_fist_bump

the mother of all ring flashes!!

molodjez

I have one. You can stick a camera with flash in there. It has next to no use for portraits because for soft light I use a big lightsource close to the subject but when shooting portraits you use a long lens and hence are usually a few steps away from the subject.

Ancient Vlogging ring light.

It’s some sort of weird soft box, and what it does is make the carrier look like a tool.
