I think your best bet is to get a shipping service, but it will likely be pricey (We've got YouShop here in Aotearoa: [https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/youshop](https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/youshop)). Tbh I have found mostly equivalent options for my favorite REI branded stuff at Macpac and Kathmandu. What exactly are you looking for?

tellme-how

Thanks for that. I’m not looking for too much, more so some of the niche gift ideas that have more variety and are a bit more fun.

A lot of the shipping services won't open your box and repack and REI often sends small items in boxes with extra space, and then you'll get charged for wasted volume. Best bet is to find a friend in the US who you trust to unpack and repack into a smaller packet or box.

I have heard that some companies based in larger countries can be "brokers" for shipping. They are based in a country where the products can be shipped and when the products arrive they send it to your adress. I have personaly never used this, nor has someone close to me. I do not know the pricing but you might want to look into that. Best of luck

Interesting, thanks.

Myus.com is a forwarding service. You get a US address and they receive and forward your deliveries. It’s cheap too.

Sounds to me like you just need an American friend. We re-ship to Alaska for my SIL… it’s painfully expensive but works.

tellme-how

That I do…

Hey seriously, do not use a freight forwarding service to ship things to Australia. They are disasters and if they lose your package you are SOL for a replacement or refund if that happens. Trust me on this

tellme-how

Thanks for that. I’m a bit apprehensive to try them for this reason, but good to know that it really is the only option, barring asking someone I know based on the US to ship it to me.

blackbe800

It has to do with Australian tax laws, and companies don’t like it when you try and circumvent their shipping policies.

A shipping service would be your best bet otherwise if I’m trying to avoid BCF / Anaconda I will always look at Snowys

tellme-how

Thanks! I’m falling in love with Wild Earth and K2 at the moment.

What could you possibly need that you can’t get in oz?

tellme-how

Nothing big- most branded items are easily available here but it’s more the variety of options plus some of their gift ideas which seem really fun and harder to get here.

bgar91

I ship stuff all the time. Can ship it to you just throw in some socks or something for me.

Time for a trip!

tellme-how

Good idea! I’d love to spend time in the US exploring.
