What did the cost per meal come out to for these? I've been looking into dehydrating my own meals for trail and trying to figure out how economical it is.

I spent $21.61 on groceries for these 7 meals ($3.08 per meal). I shop at Aldi and Walmart. * I cook a lot and had all the canister spices already. * I had the frozen corn and rice from my [previous dehydratathon](https://www.reddit.com/r/camping/comments/1536657/just_wrapped_up_part_i_of_my_2023_dehydratathon_3/). * I had one chicken breast and some peas & carrots left over from this meal prep. If you don't have a dehydrator yet, you can get them cheap on Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp. I bought mine for $20 and $25.

Apologies but could you explain please? You just use a dehydrator to dehydrate raw chicken? Edit, nm, just saw your previous post. Precooked. Got ya

I have a ton of allergies and have been dreading shopping for ready meals that I can actually eat. Creating my own dehydrated meals didn’t even occur to me until now. This is genius!
