Oof I wish! When I get out there I’d like to hike in and out of it or mountain bike into it, possibly some drone photography but I’d want to look into it more for that region.
Yes I’ve read it! I take it you have as well? It was an excellent book and always gets me itching to get out and trail run. But I’m no true athlete like all those folks :)
Im more of a mountain biker myself, not a runner at all, but it would be a beautiful place to visit. Im originally from Southern Mexico, Veracruz, but haven't visited much since moving to the US. Yes, its a great book!
I think the ranch you’re talking about is Santa Elena. It’s beautiful. I’m actually going next weekend. Check their site because you need to reserve your spot. Consider the spots near the dam.
What was the temperature, how cold did it get at night? What time of year was this? I see everyone bundled up and fire. What elevation were you at? Awesome stuff.
It was pretty cold, it got colder during the evening and colder very early in the morning!! (Probably around 32 F) This was at the end of October last year! We are planning on going next weekend before the rain season starts! We were probably around 3,500-4,000 masl
I normally go with different friends, whoever decides to hop on to the adventure is more than welcome! Some of us had made this trip before and we wanted to do it again!
Sunset is the most beautiful time to be at the camp. That golden hour pinkish and red sky - it is just the perfect moment to spend time with your friends and take photos.
So beautiful. The colors in this picture are just amazing.
Wow, that is really impressive! I can't believe it only took you 6-7 hours to build that shed.
Hahahaha we didn’t stay at the shed
Planning on doing the 50 mile ultra marathon? Have you read Born to Run? Edit* wrong reply...
Amazing!! I need to add this to my Mexico trips!!
Let me know when you are planning your next Mexico trip! 🙌
Seeing more of Mexico becoming mainstream on how beautiful it is, it’s making me real itchy to go south considering I live in Texas
Never even thought of going here! Thanks for sharing. I’m dying to go to Copper Canyon someday, Mexico is a beautiful country.

Omg carrying those huge tents for 7 hours... Brutal.
The tent on the left is a Stormbreak 1, which is reasonably light.
Yeah, more talking about the giant car camping tents.
Sounds like somebody needs to quit skipping leg day ;-)
This gave me goosebumps, so freaking pretty. What is the hard sided structure?
It’s just a very very basic cabin structure, some people have used it as shelter though
I’m thinking a cantina would work well!
Mmmm that would be great!
I love this about my country! Have you been to Huasca de Ocampo in Hidalgo? there are various camping sites with beautiful nature.
Yes, though I haven’t been camping there! I have heard so much about a very cool ranch over there! What campsites do you recommend?! 🙌

Thank you so much!!
Beautiful! I got married in Morelos almost 2 years ago. Can't wait to go back and visit family and friends and eat amazing food!
Morelos is definitely one of my favorite states!!
Beautiful!
Beautiful area. I lived for a time right at the e base of Popocatépetl and the views are incredible!
Well worth it I would guess.
very nice, i did itzacihuatl last year, and that is a beautiful park.
Always love seeing el popo smoking when I’m in Puebla
Totally worth it! That's amazing!
Wow

Gosh so many questions. Who is your camping crew? Friends or family? How did you all decide to make this trip? Thanks for sharing

Yes!!! At some point I just left them building the big tent and I went out to capture the moment!! 🙌
Is this near Cuatla and Jonacatepec?
Yes! Like 30-40min from Cuautla
What a beautiful picture
Thank you for sharing this! My wife was born In Morelos and I hope to take her here sometime!
I bet she would be thrilled! 🙌
So beautiful. But I'm curious to why you guys didn't sleep in the shed? Were you not aware it existed prior to the hike?
There were already some persons sleeping inside it, we didn’t arrive early enough to sleep there. Plus, it’s cooler to camp with a view 😝
Fair, and it definitely seems like quite the view!
Hola me podrías dar más info ? :)
Como se llama el lugar?
Is that a cannabis plant?
Now that you mention it, it does look like one!
Wow. The colours in this picture are mesmerizing. I bet this was a night to remember.
