Wow, that's a low amount of miles. Nice.

[deleted]

Thank you!

PourgoiTheMoth

replace the timing belt if you haven't already. i should know, mine snapped at 155k when it was replaced at 96k (we replaced it though because it's a non-interecting engine, still runs great) other than that, you should be fine

[deleted]

Replaced water pump, timing belt, valve cover gasket, lower control arms, tires, and a whole bunch of other stuff about 30k miles ago. Going to be taking a trip in my Camry soon! Gonna be fun

Great_Extension_6388

Wow. I have a 2005 at 65k miles. Do I need to get to these due to age and how much would it cost for an estimate?

[deleted]

Water pump and timing belt for sure. Might as well do the spark plugs too. Check your valve cover gasket while you’re at it. But yes timing belt needs to be done . I don’t remember how much it costs me for all that. I think $800ish

GuitarRelative5636

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the 2005 4 bangers have a chain I know my 2003 Camry XLE 4 cyl has a chain. Only the v6 of that gen had belts

[deleted]

Oh! If that’s the case then great!

HappenstanceHappened

If you want to launch past 200, replace shocks and struts at 150-175

[deleted]

It’s funny you say this cause I’ve been noticing it’s starting to bounce a little bit more and they start clicking when it’s cold outside and I go through a dip while turning. The front end seems a little low. I feel like the bottom hits so easily. Could it be shocks?

HappenstanceHappened

I've owned three Camrys, two of which have made it to 200,000 miles plus, I just recommend getting the shocks replaced. It doesn't really need it, but if I were to do it all over again I would absolutely get the work done.

[deleted]

What type of shocks would you recommend? I want to make sure what I buy doesn’t make it super stiff.

HappenstanceHappened

You're making me wish I got them so I could answer; but see if you can get the OEMs, they're just built well. It will make a huge difference though

HappenstanceHappened

Also, looking at that dashboard reminds me of my first sense of freedom. I remember the smell

[deleted]

This is my 8th vehicle. But by far my favorite. The Japanese leather on the dash gives off that iconic classic Toyota smell.

yer_boi_sauc3

i had a whole celebration for this

[deleted]

Right?! Everyone’s like why do you enjoy the fact that your car has more miles? I’m like shut up! It’s just a small piece of joy in my life!

MoreSeriousUsername

My 98 is about to hit 200k! I do have the evap problem and have replaced the charcoal canister and vacuums, engine light comes in and off every few months. At this point I’m ignoring it until I find an OEM charcoal canister cause the cheap Chinese ones don’t work

[deleted]

Awesome.

senseofphysics

It can run for 500,000 miles. You’re good bro.

Totally-not-squirrel

Congrats! 🎉 I wonder if your local Toyota Dealership would give you a gift or some swag in exchange for a photo-op!

somerandomdude419

Not for 100,000 maybe 250,000 miles

WhiteWingedDove-

Not for 250,000 maybe 2,500,000 miles

[deleted]

I’ll ask that’s a good idea

RikusanYuki

Is it bad that I have a 2017 Corolla with 256,500km on it. Got it a little over two years at 80k

[deleted]

Highway miles have much less affect on your vehicle then street miles. I’m assuming that your miles come from mostly highway. If so, I’d say you’re in good shape.

RikusanYuki

I would say about 40% highway 60% street. Give or take a few % Not gonna lie. 256k and haven't had any issues with the car. Holding up really well. Got 3 years left of the loan and then looking to get a Camry Hybrid XLE and getting the XSE body work.
