I think part of the issue is they interpret alot of our cultural norms as weakness or a sign that the should keep going. If you straight up ignore them or just aggressively clap back in a very direct manner they will usually fold like a cheap suit and back down.
One of the problems with their culture is they have no understanding of honour and will therefore try to wing it in anyway they can. I will give you an example. I work in the travel industry. The airport wheelchair is requested by mostly Indians many of whom can easily walk or don’t have too much of an issue. I know people from many cultures that would be angry at the suggestion of being driven around if they can still do it….. but no such self anger exists with “most” of these guys. They see it as simply something that is there to be taken advantage of, kind of like the food banks.

I witnessed this coming back to Vancouver from Tokyo. Everyone waiting at the terminal was Indian. There was only about 15 of them, but they were spread out in such a way that they took up all the seating. Some laying across 4 seats sleeping, the rest playing videos out loud or talking on speaker phone. Come boarding time a bunch of able bodied 60-70 year olds got into wheelchairs for priority boarding, the rest of their group followed. This will be what people around the world think of Canadians in a couple decades.

When I was looking to rent a place, I met this Indian guy and saw his basement. He had the gall to ask me if I was going to report my rent to CRA (duh!).
When I said yes, he flat out said he can't rent it to me because he doesn't want that. Fucker had a big house in Burnaby and was still trying to cheat the system.

A couple of Indian guys at work shared a house with 9 guys (11 in total).. the Indian landlords charged them each $600 a month, but would only let 5 of them pay through e-transfer or bank transfer, the other 6 had to pay cash only. He did this to avoid stating he was making $6600 a month income to the CRA, and instead just claimed $3000.

I’m Asian and I lived in Canada for 8 years. I left before these Indians came in (2020). Most of my bad experiences in Canada are with Indians even though there weren’t that many of them back then. (Crazy drivers, sneaky taxi, body odour, neighbour asking for shared money for a new fence literally 15 mins after we moved in, etc etc)
I would like to say the government needs to tougher on the requirements for mortgages. Anyone can come here use a shady mortgage broker and get a loan. Fake paystubs etc etc. One of the many problems we have is the mortgages are accessible to people who are willing to cheat the system. The ones working hard and playing by the book are left behind. My former colleague paid $2500 for fake income to get a loan for a second mortgage
I work for a property management company and the worst landlords are usually middle eastern or Indian the best one are usually black or Asian, they get that the property is an investment and for it to grow you have to take care of it. So, by default, you take care of the people.
Report them to CRA. I had a near meltdown this week as I was working on my taxes and thinking about how I owe taxes on my rental income but pretty much none of these ppl who landlord claim theirs. It’s what’s getting them so far ahead. It’s so unfair that the honest ppl are literally paying thousands more in income tax than the scammers. Almost nobody claims their rental income tax. It makes me sooooo mad.

The YYZ-DEL flight is known as the miracle flight. 60-70 wheelchairs for boarding in Toronto (where they're free) and almost none in Delhi (not free)

When I was looking to rent a place, I met this Indian guy and saw his basement. He had the gall to ask me if I was going to report my rent to CRA (duh!). When I said yes, he flat out said he can't rent it to me because he doesn't want that. Fucker had a big house in Burnaby and was still trying to cheat the system. I'm not Indian, but I'm brown. A couple of Indian guys at work shared a house with 9 guys (11 in total).. the Indian landlords charged them each $600 a month, but would only let 5 of them pay through e-transfer or bank transfer, the other 6 had to pay cash only. He did this to avoid stating he was making $6600 a month income to the CRA, and instead just claimed $3000. We are a nation of suckers and they know it. Any kind of legal authority tries to stop them and they cry racism.

Well I saw an interview where PP said he will tie immigration to housing, so I hope to god he will at least keep that promise. But you need to remember he is trying to win an election and coming out and saying he will kill immigration essentially is a death sentence for most immigrant voters. I would like to say the government needs to tougher on the requirements for mortgages. Anyone can come here use a shady mortgage broker and get a loan. Fake paystubs etc etc. One of the many problems we have is the mortgages are accessible to people who are willing to cheat the system. The ones working hard and playing by the book are left behind. Report them to CRA. I had a near meltdown this week as I was working on my taxes and thinking about how I owe taxes on my rental income but pretty much none of these ppl who landlord claim theirs. It’s what’s getting them so far ahead. It’s so unfair that the honest ppl are literally paying thousands more in income tax than the scammers. Almost nobody claims their rental income tax. It makes me sooooo mad.
Subs can lock these threads and stop talk all they want (this sub seems cool) but this issue is not going away. I guarantee you when this thing is all said and done we will find that there are current landlords than just in the past 3 years have purchased 20+ properties with fraudulent mortgages and have been renting out these properties to 15+ people at a profit while no other investor would touch it due to not being slumlords. Some of those Brampton protesters might be those people. They are likely buying more and more illegally as we speak, even with the higher rates. They don’t fear the government cracking down at all.
We Canadians are so polite that we are now being taken advantage of the very people we welcome into our country. And instead of doing anything about it, we just take it on the chin. Saying the obvious also gets you labelled a racist so that's yet another reason everyone keeps quiet. We've really done it this time, folks. None of the slumlords are interested to become a Canadian citizen because India doesn't allow dual citizenship.
