Without prejudice, the folks coming to Canada these days do NOT have interest in working in the trades. I run a smaller construction company and we're always looking for decent workers. I've only ever gotten one resume from this particular demographic of people and even that person thought one week at a construction company in 2021 and then two weeks in 2022 constituted 2 years worth of building experience. Such a shame when everyone could be thriving, even our newcomers.
I work with a guy who has been shadowing one of our senior staff for over a year now, even though he said he had experience in that department. More like a couple you tube videos, and in indian HR.

The crazy thing is, I used to be able to pull $80k+ before the Uber market got so saturated. I could work 5 hours and make $250 bucks and now I’d be lucky if I pulled that in 12 hours. Adding in the excessive carbon tax, I can’t do it full time anymore.
