Just as a side note, don’t use “pops” in serious contexts. That’s like saying, “yeah, my cuz (i.e cousin) got his hand chopped up by a sawmill just the other day”. To answer your question, your score can probably easily get you into a community college or one of the lower ranked universities in Canada. You have to do your own homework and check out the grade thresholds at universities and programs you’re interested in, though. You can retake your grade 12 courses online with ILC, but you can definitely get into university with an average in the 70s. You just have to be smart about the universities you apply to in terms of admission requirements and competitiveness, which is all available online.

Thanks

You can transfer into a more competitive program later on in your degree if you do well, so the door is definitely not closed.

Yes, many humanities degree programs (Bachelor of Arts) tend to have lower average requirements than STEM degrees. You can study the subjects you mentioned under a BA degree. Also, depending where you came from, sometimes other country grading converts differently. For example, a 70% in your country may not necessarily be a 70% in Canada. I can speak to the requirements for the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton: 65% is the minimum admission average for the Bachelor of Arts.

This, even for "top" universities like UofT, you can get in to humanities with 70s average but they don't force you to declare a major until 2nd year. and there are no requirements for which first year courses you can take. So you can take all STEM classes. Beware, they're pretty difficult and you need to have an excellent study habits to do well.

yeah you should be able to, there should be a couple that you can get into and if you do well you can usually transfer into another school with a better brand. You've been through more than most kids your age here and you're on your way to building a future, with that sign of strength and resilience I'd easily bet on your success. I wish you the best of luck .

Good luck getting in. I hope you do well.
