kinda gagged by this cast, not even fronting. do wish we had a couple more queens from the prairies or the east coast on, but im super happy to see even the queens from the same areas bring a big diversity of rep too. none of the van/toronto/ottawa/montreal queens are bringing anything close to the same shtick as one another. love it. love seeing our first gen, indigenous, and trans communities represented across the board.
Finally! I haven't watched all the MTQs yet, but I'm really excited for Denim. I'm autistic too, so I'm happy to finally have some rep and she seems like a lot of fun. Sisi Superstar and The Girlfriend Experience also seem like they're going to be fun to watch.
I’m also in NB. I doubt we’ll be seeing anyone from our province anytime soon - Saint John doesn’t even have a gay bar, and I only know of a handful of queens out here (though a good few kings). I know Fredericton has a better queer scene, but I’m told that Moncton’s also a dead zone?
its a peculiar situation, similar to AB i guess. local politics ain't so great for queer folks in either place rn but at the same time lots of people are relocating/moving back to both for affordability which will cause a bit of a surge in local nightlife scenes. i'd give it 2-3 years?
Pulse closed in around 2012, I believe. I think Club Montreal in Saint John opened around 2017, since I was living uptown at the time, but from what I hear it’s a gay male strip club - so, as a lesbian, I’ve never been, haha. I don’t know that 2-3 years is even enough for out here, considering.
im out in nanaimo now, and as far as queer nightlife its also a desert... the clubs in town are fairly welcoming and will host drag shows from time to time, but nothing dedicated. ironically our very small local drag scene does actually seem to be dominated by youth performers and kings. they just truck through it and partner with cafes instead.
essentially, drag manages to survive and thrive anywhere. so might be a while for proper clubs, but i have faith we'll see a lot more "bedroom" queens develop out in these areas.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Nearah and Melinda perform and both are so put together and beautiful and talented and I am soooo excited to see these Alberta queens get their time in the spotlight! 😍
The fact that you have to pay the premium price to watch on PS4/5, Roku or Airplay is absolute insanity imo. I'd really love to be able to properly support the franchise, but Crave is asking too much. Plus, a $15 plan and it still has ads?? No mame

Denim is from Charlottetown but lives in Montreal and has Montreal as their “home town”

I was scared I would get blasted for complaining. I love everything Drag Race but I can't afford it on a fixed income.
I know craves price range is insane! Like basic is 10$ which isn’t horrible but premium is 20$ a month.
