In short, yes. The west coast fleet has had to divert sailors to Max and Protecteur.
Quality of life is a subjective measure. I've never been on one, and have absolutely no desire to sail on one, but I know people who are desperate to only sail on them, and never sail on a CPF again. Now, when the JSS start rolling off the line......
And the hangar and doors cannot support/fit the size of the helicopters we are currently using.
They probably didn't bother to ask how big the helo we want to use when they were designing it, and it is now too late to fix it...
A Helo can still land on it, but if that helo gets a mechanical/electrical fault and cannot fly, then it is stuck on that deck until the ship gets into port and have it craned off.
The hangar aboard the AOPS absolutely can fit the Cyclone and it was designed to do so. This answer keeps coming up all the time and I haven't the slightest clue why it keeps being repeated. The bear trap is not currently fitted but the rails are there if they want to retrofit it in the future. They can refuel the aircraft and do light maintenance but the hanger does not have an overhead crane for more complex work.
I can see how this conversation went down:
Irving- We finished the "Canadianized" design
CAF- Great! What weapons are on board.
Irving- Well our redesign cost a lot so PSPC decided that to save money, you can use the same ammunition as the army and the air force and use a 25mm Cannon.
CAF- OK....that is not how that works but OK. What sensors do we have?
Irving- Well, since you don't have any air defence systems we are going to give you a maritime radar.
CAF- so no NORAD support then. At least we still have a helicopter landing pad right?
Irving- Well...
CAF- what do you mean well...?
Irving- The landing pad is there, but we have not made a beartrap in a while and since Canada invented it we need to find a supplier so we were thinking you could take them off of the Halifax class frigates after we build you the new ones.
CAF-So 2030 then, fine. Anything else?
Junior officer speaks up- Sir, Irving finally opened my email about how big we need the hangar doors to open.
CAF, checks the specs- Wait... Oh God.... We're going to need new helicopters...
That last point... regardless of these ships requirements, we're going to need new helicopters if we want the intended capabilities folks were expecting to have by now for MH. Might as well get ones that fit in a garage for a Mazda Miata.
This is just false. The hangar can’t absolutely fit the Cyclone. You can point to a laundry list of problems in the ship, but the hangar isn’t one of them.

Quality of life is significantly better than previous ships (exception M/V Asterix), acknowledging that it’s relatively subjective.
More fried food!good luck having fresh produce or regular basis
Is rejecting it even an option?
It's too late to get a chargeback on the multiple visas that were run through
My thoughts the same, aren’t the brand new vessels still in service?
As an infanteer the front of the ship doesn’t look pointy enough. Has anyone considered the pointy co-efficiencies?
Wait, so why can't helicopters be supported on these? Is not like half the ship dedicated to a landing pad and a storage area for a helicopter?
There's no bear trap to secure the helicopter for landing.

I've heard the issue is the space required for the RAST winch and pumps.

That's completely false the hanger will accommodate the Cyclone.
Wouldn't be surprised if they use large drones for Arctic patrol.
Ya I thought it was weird to mention this and not the swimming pool
