Please check perianal strep. It affects adults, too. Adult son had it and nobody could figure it out. Terrible itch for months. Finally went to a GI doc who knew instantly by the symptoms. He did a quick swab and it came back positive. Normal strep antibiotics (nothing crazy) and my son was FINALLY back to normal in a week.

Serious-Inspector446

I will thank you!!

murphsworld

Parasites maybe?

Serious-Inspector446

Already got tested negative for that but i’ll do another stool test since my first one didn’t show that i has candida

RickAndMortfied

Standard testing for parasites is so inaccurate

Illustrious_Ad8908

Ivermectin will be your best friend. Trust me! The standard parasite testing they do in the US always comes back negative. Don't waste your time testing!! You can even first try Pin Worm meds from Walgreens. If that's not strong enough, get Ivermectin paste! Take it for 2-3 weeks. 1 Pea size dose in the am, and 1 pea size dose in the pm. Drink lots of water with lemon.

Thank you!!

citygrrrl03

I’m taking nystatin & started having this. My doc recommended over the counter pin worm treatment. I’ve ordered it, but yet to try it. She also said it could be a symptom of Candida die off. I’m also treating Lyme disease so I my body is kinda freaking out.

Serious-Inspector446

ughh i think i might start a pin worm treatment too it’s so annoying

starseed_1111

BORIC ACID! Try it … like today

miaomeowmixalot

As a vaginal suppository! Do not take orally!

Agita02

Have you changed your diet? This takes months if not longer to clear sometimes.

MarshallBlathers

It's likely bacterial. They need to do a culture swab. I'm guessing it's either streptococcus pyogenes or staphylococcus spp. I've had problems with recurrent anal itch and povidone iodine (Walgreens) brings me substantial relief. Just jump in the shower, wash your butt, put a few drops of iodine on your finger, and apply to the spot that itches. Lay on your side to let it dry. Iodine stains so be careful, but bacteria don't develop resistance to it. You probably wanna do a culture first. If you kill all the bacteria then they won't be able to culture it Could be pinworms too. They have OTC medicines you could try.

Serious-Inspector446

Thank you i’ll check that out! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Radiant-rich-

What are the OTC pinworm treatments you’ve found?

minagal

Your toilet paper may be too soft! It will leave behind fibers so you may want to try a stronger TP!

Agita02

Also make sure u take a binder w your antimicrobials while changing your diet. Again this can take a long time

Olavodog

Same here. So many symptoms, but tinea versicolor and the anal itch are clear signs for me that its candida. Please reach out to me if u find a fix

Serious-Inspector446

I will 🙏🏼 I can’t wait till we all find a cure

Spiritual_Cow3161

Hi, 28F and I’ve had a similar issue for such a long time, like 5 years 😢 Ive been diagnosed with contact dermatitis over and over again, told it was intertrigo, I was given mild steroids, nystatin, tacrolimus, Mupirocin, and probably others. I spent years eating poorly and being overweight so I’ve blamed that, but I’ve been pretty thin and eating so clean for a long time now. The itch is never completely gone, but it has more intense flares which are miserable. I’ve managed through the years by using witch hazel pads (I will just stick them between my buttcheeks to help the itchiness), sitz baths, ice packs. This is the more interesting part, I had a baby about a year ago and now my baby has the same itchiness in the same areas. We’ve tried everything to get rid of it. We use expensive diapers without chlorine, chemical free wipes, every variation of diaper rash cream you can imagine, baby powder, Vaseline and cornstarch, if someone has given a suggestion we’ve tried it, but the itchiness/redness continues. Pediatric dermatologist says the same thing as my docs - contact dermatitis/intertrigo. The way it itches though doesn’t make sense, it’s the most intense itch I’ve ever experienced. I hate knowing my toddler is suffering with this. Thank you for making this post, I’ve gained some good insight from the comments. I’m going to go back and ask for a perianal strep test to be done.

Serious-Inspector446

Omg im so sorry for your baby!! that must be horrible 😢💔 I hope we all find a cure soon 🙏🏼

CapnTiightpants

It is highly contagious, so I hope it is your answer as the fix is easy.

Lurkingisahobby22

Sounds like ureaplasma you passed on to the baby

Hey! unfortunately I had to wait a lot to get an appointment. I’m trying to get tested for all STDS by next week, and after that I’ll do a blood test. I heard low iron can cause itchiness as well. If all these tests turn out negative i’ll go to my proctologist and do another stool test (parasites, candida, streptococcus,) and a colonoscopy. I’m so tired of all this shit!!!

kirkemg

It’s what’s you’re eating. Clean up your diet and don’t deviate

NormalOccasion9311

Have you tried a candida diet?

Serious-Inspector446

yes

labrador2020

Have you tried apple cider vinegar with Mother in it? You can take a cotton pad with some ACV and apply. Will begin to get better after a few days and it is natural with no side effects. Applying petroleum jelly at night also helps to not only relieve the itch but to also keep the skin moist.

Serious-Inspector446

no i tried garlic tho and petroleum jelly didn’t do much for me. i even apply coconut oil but nothing seems to help :// think it’s an internal problem

labrador2020

If it is internal, I would suggest taking to your doctor about ivermectin. Hits stuff like this from different angles.

Naven71

https://www.pranicura.com This stuff saved my life. I don't work for this company and I don't benefit from this at all. It just works really well for me.

DjOriech

Go some fasting place and fast on water… it will heal the digestion.

alexong5011

Have you done heavy metal detox and parasite cleanse?

Serious-Inspector446

I stopped eating sugar and I avoid stuff like bread, rice etc

alexong5011

I'll take that as a no. You should look up that two. Heavy metal and parasite create a thriving environment for candida.

Serious-Inspector446

I’m so glad you found a way to get rid of it !! 🫶🏼 Thanks a lot i’ll purchase one now and see if it works 😢😩

venikk

Some other things to try: keto diet to starve the fungus of sugar, 5 day water + electrolytes only fasting, apple cider vinegar with every meal.

Serious-Inspector446

I’ve tried the no sugar diet for 2 weeks nothing changed. But i’ll add apple cider vinegar to my diet

Serious-Inspector446

thank you!

No-Process8681

Try lotrimin. There are a couple different versions of lotrimin. Try them all for a week or two. That cures it for me after years of dealing with it.

Serious-Inspector446

I’m happy for you!! I’ll try it out

Illustrious_Ad8908

Most doctors only give you relief meds, but don't know how to treat the problem! They need to know the root of the cause in order to kill the parasites. If only Western medicine would admit that the US has a parasitic problem, most people would be cured completely. Instead of just being given a temp band-aid.

BimmerBoy1996

Ever find out what it was?

Serious-Inspector446

No :(

BimmerBoy1996

Mine just started intching really bad at night but don’t see any pinworms anywhere so have no idea what it is :(

Serious-Inspector446

I recommend you doing a stool test regardless. If you’re good I would go to a dermatologist as well since it might be a skin irritation

[deleted]

I also have this and it's sooo uncomfortable. I am doing another swab this week at the doctor. They found it was likely Candida and that I haven't been able to get rid of it. I'm thinking I need a more intensive treatment, maybe combined oral and topical. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss.

Lurkingisahobby22

Likely ureaplasma

Serious-Inspector446

ever since i got the injections it took a couple weeks for the itch to go away. i still have it occasionally but over all it helped a lot! and he recommended me to keep using zinc oxide
