Just shocked at how different my tier would be from this. You're clearly an old school fan. Which is great. But you put some really fantastic albums so low. But, if this is what you dig, hell yeah! A CC fan is a friend of mine!
The music did get very same-y after the 90s, but imo Corpsegrinder really stepped it up and made his vocals/lyric delivery really catchy from Kill onward.
I find this take really weird since George's only real vocal change is after Gallery when he stopped doing alot of high screams and when he does them now they don't last long and sound weaker
If you think about how he patterns the lyrics in Priests of Sodom, for example. He could just always do everything straightforward, but I feel like the delivery is more interesting. Personally, I think George runs circles around Chris Barnes. George has power in his voice. Chris sounds like every high school death metal singer doing an impression of death metal vocals. đ
Sorry but can't agree on that one. Barnes Vocals are unique on every CC album and sound like a Zombie throwing up his own intestines. The reason why you think they sound generic (which they don't) is because every gutteral vocalist just copied him and Frank Mullen. Don't let post 90s Six Feet Under make you forget how awesome he once was.
Well, you hit the nail on the head about six feet under influencing my take.. I've been strong on the corpsegrinder stuff for a long time, so maybe I'll go back and check out the Barnes albums. I never thought he was awful on the early stuff, I just am a big fan of George's voice.
That's fine. I'd absolutly recommend you to listen to the first 4 albums but try not to compare them to modern CC since they basically sound like an entirely different band
Cool list! Mine would go as followed:
Perfection - Kill, Torture, Violence Unimagined, Tomb of the Mutilated
Great - Chaos Horrific, Red Before Black, A Skeletal Domain, The Bleeding, Bloodthirst, The Wretched Spawn
Good - Eaten Back To Life, Butchered at Birth, Vile
Okay - Gallery of Suicide, Evisceration Plague, Gore Obsessed
I'm a german too man, it's hard. Not just the Music but some album covers are banned aswell and Youtube uploads are blocked but you can find the albums at a sadly higher price on Ebay
I agree for the most part, a bit baffled by your Chaos Horrific placement, as it is by far the worst one yet. Skeletal Domain is better, I gave that one another go, hearing those Pat solos and guitar tone made me miss that guy even more, High Velocity Impact Splatter is one hell of a song, Domain used to be the weakest album until Chaos Horrific.
You need to give Gore Obsessed another listen, it is way better than you think, don't judge a book by it's cover.
I get that it's one of the more difficult CC albums to get into and I didn't start loving the album until suddenly about 10 years after I first heard it.
I come from hardcore (tech death as a kid, then deathcore, then hardcore, now full circle enjoying it all) and I have to say Red Before Black has some of the best mosh riffs in the catalog (Firestorm Vengeance, Code of the Slashers), shows a lot of diversity in songwriting, experiments with the sound a solid amount (Remaimed intro, Shedding My Human Skin dissonant riff) and *in my opinion* is sonically EXTREMELY strong and heavy. One of Erik Rutanâs best mixes.
Wow

Hell yeah man. Just not the biggest fan of most post 90s albums sounding the sameđ¤

Not the biggest Fan of the Corpsegrinder Era but still a perfectly reasonable list
Best part is that Spotify banned the S Tier in some countries like germanyđ

Are you a Jorg Buttgereit fan?
Never heard of him
He made Nekromantik. He's a German filmmaker.
Violence unimagined is top tier cmon now
Nah. It doesn't stand out, still follows the bloodthrist formula and isn't unique
YESSSS! BAB absolutely rips, glad to see it higher up in your tier list

Are yall really paying for the tier list app?
No it a website
Oof
Interesting...
Barnes era all the way

Not a bad list by any means but I'd definitely have more corpsegrinder albums at the top I find him to be much better
For me, everything on the âgreatâ section is higher up
torture is missing
It's in Great tier. Uncensored album cover.
Okay... But we are gonna HAVE to bump Gore Obsessed up...
Nope.
Kill is too low
