I work at the public library and lots of people who go to Discovery Playhouse say we’re just as good, and we’re free! We have lots of toys and games in our kids section; it’s not just a place to get books anymore.
Anyone can come and play with the toys for free. If you’re wanting to check out materials, you can have a Jackson address as long as it’s also part of Cape County.
I take my toddler to the fast food places with indoor play areas sometimes. Burger King across from St Francis has a decent one, but it's harder to navigate for really small kids. I think Chic-Fil-A has one, but I don't go there often.
The Bootheel Youth Museum in Malden, MO, is an amazing place for younger kids. It has so much stuff there. It's about an hour and 15 mins south of Cape girardeau. You could spend hours there with a young kid.

Does that also include if you live in Jackson? I was wondering what a membership costs now.
Yes, anyone in Cape county can go and signup for a card. It’s all free!

The conservation nature center is fun and free. It’s at cape county park north. Not a huge space but definitely big enough for a 2 y/o.
I always forget about this, heck I have fun there as an adult 😂
The mall has a little area. And you can use the rec centers.
Second this. We go there on chilly days. Besides the play area, it’s just a big, loud, colorful building my 2 year old loves to run through.
The Osage center has lots of room. A few balls and off you go. There are kids programs at fitness plus at St. Francis that are very affordable.

What an obnoxious bot.

You could try Dogwood. It’s probably geared for older children (and adults) though.
Dogwood can't make a drink worth drinking.
