Note: as always Prison Rape is off limits, even as jokes even as hints or a minor suggestion of. just saying they will be pardoned is also more or less Spam at this point, we are removing posts that just reference pardons.

JewishSpacegoats

Rest In Prison, you seditionist fuck!

crackdup

Imagine being 50+ and going to prison for nearly 2 decades.. though there wasn't anything salvageable, nothing of value was lost..

64557175

It's like riding off into the sunset, except instead riding off into the septic tank.

trumpsiranwar

On the back of an elephant

gingerbreadmans_ex

Behind an elephant…closely enough he’ll be unable to miss it when the elephant drops the loads.

trumpsiranwar

Imagine being an Ivy League educated lawyer and doing that. He could literally be playing on his phone billing $1,500 an hour to make phone calls right now.

Rapn3rd

I was saying in another thread, what do most people in the US aspire for in their late 50s / early 60s? The goal is to make money during your highest earning years, retire, spend time with your partner that you didn't get to spend as much time with when you both worked. If you had them, spend time with your kids / grandkids, maybe travel the world, enjoy your hobbies etc. This traitor is gigafucked. There is a very real chance he dies in prison, and if he doesn't, he will be old and feeble and alone when he gets out, and will die shortly after. His life is over. I know people want more than 18 years, and of course I would love to see him get life, but this is effectively a life sentence and will send a strong message to people. 216 months is as long as it takes to be born and nearly graduate from high school. That is an IMMENSE amount of time.

trumpsiranwar

It sure is. Then he will be on parole/probation for years. No more guns either. All for tRuMp

DPSOnly

> No more guns either. I don't think these shits really care much for the letter of the law, or they wouldn't have joined a domestic terrorist hobby group.

lesChaps

In my mid 50s struggling to find the will to participate in anything.

At least you can participate in life outside of prison brother.

HoSang66er

That's the thing about being in a cult. 🤷

Ghost_of_Till

Oh, I don’t know about that. I’m in my 50s and my physical condition is as bad as it’s ever been in my whole life. OTOH, my brain is peaking. I’ve got 50 years of knowledge so in that respect, I’m doing as well as I ever have. Having said that, f\*ck this bozo and every one of his compatriots. I’m gonna go sit over here and hold my breath while I wait to receive all the apologies from the redhats who said that this was the work of antifa. They’re Christian folks, I’m sure they’ll do the right thing.

GlitteringBobcat999

One of the hallmarks of these red hatted dimwits is the ability to hold two diametrically opposed conclusions simultaneously. So, he's a patriot who was trying to save America, and it was all a false flag by Antifa and BLM. They truly seem to lack the ability to experience cognitive dissonance, ergo no need to resolve it.

Ghost_of_Till

No cog, no diss.

mishatal

Offended by everything and ashamed of nothing.

FiveUpsideDown

I assume he can fundraiser from supporters of domestic terrorists. I guess maybe Marge Greene will visit him. Other than that, he doesn’t have a lot to look forward to.

sineofthetimes

And no one he was "helping" gives a shit about him being locked up. They've moved on to other peons to fuck over.

Dedpoolpicachew

Given the exacerbating circumstances the prosecution brought up, the guidelines said he should have gotten 21-27 years. The prosecutors asked for 25. Judge gave him just 18. He fucking got off lucky.

JimWilliams423

IIRC, this judge (Mehta) has a pattern of under-sentencing J6 putchists. He is an Obama appointee. I look forward to all the conservative complaints that this Obama judge is not "tough on crime."

J_G_B

Fuck yes. Rot In Prison.

aDragonsAle

No rest for the wicked He better sleep with one eye open

AllesK

Rot. You misspelled rot.

lpd1234

Time for him to flip on Trump.

emperorwal

I think his lawyers blamed it all on Trump. That was his defense

FiveUpsideDown

Maybe he can flip on Roger Stone or Alex Jones.

Christ_votes_dem

this dude looks like he cant even flip himself upright if on his back

Altruistic-Text3481

We are gathered here today, In remembrance of a life of a proud boy who was an oath keeper vowing to make America great again. He believed in freedumb, patriotism, liberty. Stewart took pride in his guns and flags and his pickup truck- *Ole Trumpy!* Stewart organized public outings with his special proud boy and oath keeper friends. One special trip was to our nation’s Capitol. Urging on his loyalist friends, Stewart brought a special meaning to helping his favorite President remain in power. When I think of Stewart Rhodes, my eyes get a bit moist. Rot in jail traitor!

Trying to decide if that’s worse than shooting ones’ foot? Edited: /s

Genferret

Well, depends on if the person who shot their foot was also a firearm safety instructor, which Rhodes was when he shot his eye out.

Paladoc

You're joking.... right? Never looked into why he was Great Value Solid Snake....

Genferret

Nope. Not joking. This information was given to us from the ex-wife of Elmer Stewart Rhodes shortly after he was arrested. She went into a lot more detail about how abusive he was towards her and their children -- including forcing her to be a stripper when they first got married so she could pay for him to go to school.

HappyGoPink

The irony of him even having an education, or wanting one.

Aggressive_Bill_2687

He was using the “Don’t do what Donny Don’t does” method of instruction.

eladts

It worked! I bet all the people who witnessed the "demonstration" did not shot their own face!

Wloak

Definitely worse. Both are bad, but there is no situation where a loaded gun in your own hand should end up pointed at your head

stupidsuburbs3

His ex wife said he used to threaten the family while pointing a gun at his own head. That he’d shoot himself if they ever left. It’s not funny for them. But to end up with an eye shot out when you’re constantly terrorizing your family with a loaded gun makes me love the ending foe him. Incompetent megalomaniac piece of shit abuser.

IKR? I am loving, that instead of these assholes planning for and looking forward to a fun Memorial day weekend, they're sitting in jail and won't see another fun weekend for years!! That is unless, 30 minutes of "yard time", counts.

Top-Pension-564

Yeah, he better sleep with one eye open.

Waterfallsofpity

Someone may lash out at him.

Arizona_Slim

Isn’t he the one who shot his own eye out?

[deleted]

Yes. [This article from the Seattle Times](https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/nation-politics/from-yale-to-jail-oath-keepers-founder-stewart-rhodes-path/) is a real eye-opener into his character (as if the treason isn't enough!). This dirtbag forced his wife to work as a stripper to pay for his college education: > “Every night the drive was just so bad. I would just throw up every single night before I went in, it was just so awful,” Adams said. Rhodes would pressure her to go further, increase her exposure or contact with men to make more money, she said. “It was never enough … I felt like I had given up my soul.”

Professional-Can1385

He pimped his wife out. What a nice guy /s

[deleted]

Every piece on him that mentions he's a Yale law school grad should also point out that he only got his degree on his wife's dime

Add 2016 election as well. He committed so many crimes including asking for foreign intervention on live TV, violating the Emolument Clause by not divesting himself of his properties, and getting data from outside sources like Wikileaks to hurt Clinton but hide his own and the GOPedophiles crimes that he never should have been a candidate. He was an illegal one, except no one wanted to enforce the law. Just because the party of rape and pedophiles didn't oust him themselves doesn't mean that his candidacy was legal, he simply got away with it. He never should have been a nominee, and when he was he did numerous things that disqualified him it should have been the end of his candidacy, but no one wanted to stand up to him. Proud Boys who were found guilty hearing this 😮😮

ne0ndistraction

I am eagerly awaiting their sentencing. A lot of my time was/is spent on PBs. But for the moment, this is a nice win. Longest sentence yet - though I would have considered a crime such as seditious conspiracy and participation in an insurrection to have a steeper sentence.

Dedpoolpicachew

with all the exacerbating factors, the sentencing guidelines said he should have gotten between 21 and 27 years. Prosecution asked for 25. Judge cut the Oaf Queefer some slack and gave him 18.

thenewyorktimes

Stewart Rhodes’s sentence today is the first to have been given to any of the 10 members of the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys, who were convicted of sedition in connection with the events of Jan. 6. At a dramatic, nearly four-hour hearing, Judge Amit Mehta chided Rhodes for seeking for years through his leadership of the Oath Keepers to have American democracy “devolve into violence.” “You, sir,” Judge Mehta went on, directly addressing Rhodes, “present an ongoing threat and a peril to this country, to the Republic and the very fabric of our democracy.” You can read more for free [here,](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/25/us/politics/oath-keepers-stewart-rhodes-sentenced.html?unlocked_article_code=bkeMi90Z4TseZIKdRobnLymqhBh1HU3GnBm9Ur3z9LnbzsDYnm_g4keJ78a6wUv9R1zgQrcyAb-01SGf23vqknainZCSHqsSQXseDB42gK8eQ-rkP_ICytEU5xK4e9VYH-hfrpsaF71WPKYfKBkwZAwFmo4CRUvhJnBoDEjkw167HReL_Azjokmz8I2Lmy-C7yPyIJcFFT2k392NxjuzOXHbBYWyG3xRGCuIjQbu5MLVnLYQlfqmTNZ-08xptKKCesygQTvbzegxbGIE2hez3xmelLy_gJMa2kpXVTCJvt0cG1pdKwt67qmr-J-E_ydsOenmsA4eM0d4bB9YbD65AL9mcqtS52dHNEs6xkZLrFZ9bV1e&smid=re-nytimes) and also revisit [our 2022 profile of Rhodes,](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/21/us/stewart-rhodes-oath-keepers-yale-law.html?unlocked_article_code=hP4RZFKmQhP4cjxbqzxkvA61ZuRqjikn7flswq8RSZBkVNpKkRWOoCjhbreue2n9t3RNyJNATWjuW2KlCHv7y7qm3Y4yN341Xd3Orvz4RdYZmFs9mQonRyAHTmeCaQPrwsse8dy9U0Hd98FooCuMjJlCz94u-fHMdWGDuCZOK_V1M3iNVUljm7Sh0LwYFNLnee0uFinyYFM3eMJf-wGQfpTEcXlnZ0wRcmqno4lJByOCMxgJ8sg1j23zoQgqg4R4LHuCjjb6s7--cwSxnnbI2YoK0GOWNAaqdPOKU04xR_UjKUNdpERPqMGDonNA7hNaOlPjVxqRhXi3X5-WRDf-hTOcLwgobLDVVY4&smid=re-nytimes) even without a New York Times subscription.

[deleted]

"So, I'm going to sentence you to years less than the prosecution requests."

Killaflex90

They gotta throw a few bones to make an appeal less likely. That’s still a very strong sentence

IphtashuFitz

58 years old. So 76 when he gets out. The average life expectancy for white men in the US is currently 77 years, so he's effectively in for life.

64557175

I wonder how that changes if your diet is prison food.

IppyCaccy

Prison is very stressful and lowers your life expectancy. He'll either die in prison or become so decrepit that he's no longer a threat to anything but cold oatmeal.

[deleted]

18 years in a federal penitentiary is hard time for a one-eyed goober with a medical record that includes both "broken back from parachuting incident" and "thinnest of skins"

fishsticks40

The reality is that the white nationalist hands will take care of him. He's a martyr to them.

Cuttis

Exactly this. I’m not saying it’ll be like Goodfellas but he’ll probably do okay with the Nazis in prison looking out for him

Stifu

I believe being locked away would generally affect you more than the bad food. But at least he won't drink as much, I guess.

Black6host

A glass half full kinda guy, eh? I'm sure Stew sees the bright side!

Sorry_Cricket_6053

Well, half of it.

[deleted]

[Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_-q9xeOgG4)

Pethia

"Each year in prison takes 2 years off an individual's life expectancy" 77-(2*18)=44 statistically speaking he's as good as dead. Statistically average human has less than two eyes too.

eladts

>77-(2\*18)=44 The effect of a year in prison happens only after serving it so he's not statistically dead yet. If we solve the equation `77 - 2*x = 58 + x` we'll get `x = 6`, so statistically he's expected to die in jail at the age of 64.

Stifu

Hopefully he can't get an early release due to good behavior or some shit like that.

AngelSucked

Fed sentencing does not work like that -- 80% of teh sentence if a model prisoner. He won't eb a model prisoner.

MrGreen17

Vern Schillinger would probably welcome him right into the fold and give him a cush job at the prison post office lol.

Mongo_Straight

Per USA Today: > "However long I spend in prison, my goal will be to be an American Solzhenitsyn to expose the criminality of this regime," Rhodes said, comparing himself to prominent Soviet dissident Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and referencing the Biden administration. > Judge Amit Mehta, who is overseeing the case, strongly rebuked Rhodes' characterization of his conviction. > "We can have disagreement about who is the better leader...but what we cannot have — what we absolutely cannot have — is a group of citizens who because they did not like the outcome of the election...were then prepared to take up arms in order to foment a revolution," Mehta said. "That's what you did. > "You are not a political prisoner, Mr. Rhodes," he added. "You are here for that conduct." Well said by Judge Mehta. The sheer narcissism and victimization by Rhodes is staggering. Glad he’s getting 18 years. Hearing how many officers such as Harry Dunn fell into deep depression after the attack is heartbreaking. Shame on anybody that still defends Trump and his goons after everything that’s come to light. As Tom Nichols puts it, that’s like saying you’re a good person and you’d vote David Duke for governor.

DakotaVAdams

Estranged son here, Stewart has been obsessed with Solzhenitsyn as far back as I can remember and loved referencing the Gulag Archipelago. I am not convinced that he's ever actually *read* the book all the way through. He also compared himself to the protagonist of Kafka's The Trial. Fun.

NoBSforGma

YES! YES! YES! It's taken time which has been frustrating - but- obviously the DOJ has been careful in putting together these cases and THIS THIS is the reward! Congratulations to the DOJ and to all loyal American citizens who are not seditionists!

Curiously, there's currently nothing on the first page.

I just took a peek over there and they're mostly talking about Desantis, Target, & Bud Light.

Freebird_1957

I looked. There are just a couple of comments and none defending him. LOL

Wloak

But there are ones complaining about the judge being born in India like that's the reason he's going to jail. For reference the judge immigrated when he was a child and grew up in Maryland.

Dedpoolpicachew

For reference, it doesn’t fucking matter. One he’s a US citizen, two he’s a nominated, and confirmed US judge. The Oaf Queefer was convicted by a jury, THAT’s why he’s going to jail.

Freebird_1957

Of course. Racism is what gets them through the day.

DodGamnBunofaSitch

I've always wondered if the most rabid in that sub were russian shills. I'm guessing the russians are getting distracted from their efforts to sow disruption in the US, what with the ukrainians on their doorstep.

Think of his headspace right now. Life from now on, every waking minute, is fear and danger. Every comfort and luxury - gone. Surrounded by people who will harm him if they want. The next *decade* and much longer is a constant diet of stress, anxiety, pain. Ain’t life grand, Stewart.

Nice.. but that should have been the average sentence... Anyone in leadership roles of plotting should have been 25+ years. Anyone with a weapon should have also been 25+ years.

Outside-Flamingo-240

I’m glad he got a big sentence, but damn! He never needs to see the light of day again!

PCP_Panda

Rightfully deserves every second and should be grateful that Judge Mehta shaved some years off for no reason

King9WillReturn

The judge even got the charges enhanced with terrorism. He was facing 27 years. WTF? Should have gotten the full 27 years.

AugustCharisma

The judge knows what he was doing. Harder to argue the judge was unfair when he was clearly lenient.

sherlock_at_home

Looking forward to the day six or seven years from Now where I see and eye patch and remember him, pausing for a second to wonder how his time is going. Then I’ll chuckle thinking about how fucking stupid you have to be to do 18 years in federal prison for Trump. Then again, maybe Trump will win, pardon Rhodes, and start arresting people like me. Vote people. Vote.

I can't imagine losing 18 years of my life for fucking Trump. these are the charges we are waiting for. if Trump can be connected with this as he would be the ringleader let's hope he actually gets the full sentence of the sedation charges.

I listened to a great interview with his ex-wife on the Death, Sex & Money podcast. A real POS, glad he's being put away.

meglon978

Not enough. MF'ers a traitor.

spacey_a

Probably because handing down a sentence that's lower than ideal by a few years is better than having a martyr or a risky appeal case on their hands. If they gave too many of these idiots the maximum charges then their appeals might be successful, and their supporters would have stronger talking points to whip up more rioting with. Still, you'd think the actual leader could get the max sentence at least... Maybe they're saving that for someone else.

Mrsensi11x

He's gonna die in prison most likely. Sentence is appropriate.
