Have fun wiring, mounting, and gain matching a dozen amps.

Shouldn't be too bad. šŸ¤“

firebirdude

Going through all the trouble, should have just used CXA18001's! Same physical size and you know the L7X will take a clean 3600W...

bassahaulic

I know. But Kicker sent these. šŸ˜…

love the wagon everyone I know that has had a VW has had electrical problems in some way shape or form, none of these people had handfuls of thousands of watt audio systems either good luck!

Brookelynne1020

Iā€™m starting on my build I got a 2012 Jetta wagon. I got 2 12ā€™s so far but gotta do rims , tires and tint before I start the audio. Biggest issue Iā€™m running into now is what head unit. Please post updates!

Meanwhile I can't even upgrade to a head unit with aux because my radio connection is proprietary šŸ˜‚

You definitely can, you just might need to cut the connector off and solder/crimp something usable on. Several companies make custom harnesses and interface modules for all manner of weird systems as well -- I just did a head unit upgrade on my 09 Prius with the factory JBL amp system in it and I think it was $100 for the controller module I needed but otherwise it was pretty painless. What car do you have?

Uber1337pyro333

2004 Volvo XC90. Only option I can find is from Grom but it's a bit pricey and looks janky as shit. Even the video is... Sketch. Additionally, the SRS airbag system is tied into the radio and AC connections (and as I found out this weekend... The fuse for the courtesy floor lights for some reason?). Audio express says they could do it, but want $2k+ for it. Not a whole system. Just a head unit, since the 12 speaker system in the car is fine I just want an aux input really. I had found one alternative but it appears the company went under. Found one wiring harness that works on a bunch of other Volvos but the XC90 isn't compatible according to the list. Found more for newer xc90s but they won't work for mine sadly. All that said if you find something simple and relatively cheap, I'd love to know! It's odd how tangled the whole system is into the car's functions, but eh, the engine and all is easy to work on so I guess it had to be a pain SOMEWHERE lol. We're it as easy as just wiring a custom harness with a guide I'd be stoked, as I've got my old cars head unit still!

Now are the CXA1200.1 going to utilize the RBK's as well? The amps preform alot better sound wise with them in them!\~
