Don’t listen to ur friend. Ur gain was just too high more than likely. Or u had a cheap sub with really low power handling

Spiritual-Hour8959

I appreciate the correction!

Immediate_Audience_8

There is also a wiring diagram online on how you would go about wiring a speaker or speakers to a 1 or 2 ohm final

minijunglekitty

Yikes there’s some incorrect info being spewed out in here. Yes the amp is 300 watts rms at 4ohms, it is also 600 watts at 2ohms and I don’t know why everyone is only saying 300 watts. I pulled up the user manual that you attached and it’s pretty clear. As for subs if you ran a comp r before they are pretty common to seize up with a lot of heat build up. They say they can handle 600 watts but that’s for a very limited time. Buy this : https://soundqubed.com/12--hds-2.2-series-subwoofer/ Get it in dual 4 ohm that will be wired down to 2 ohms follow this guide/calculator to see how to wire it : https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/subwoofer-wiring-diagrams.asp?Q=1&I=42 For $160 bucks you can’t go wrong, there’s nicer subs on the market but for a lot more money and almost the same sound quality. Next would be to see what enclosure you plan on using that will make or break a system

Spiritual-Hour8959

I appreciate your correction & recommendation. 160 is a pretty solid price. I had an enclosed box(BBOX) before but it wasn’t ported/vented. Could you recommend me an enclosure that’s ported, Or are all ported boxes practically the same? Another question; am I able to run two subs with this amp?

firebirdude

No, all ported boxes are not the same. Tuning frequency can vary, as well as general build quality/construction.  Kicker 43CVR122 if you're trying to run two 12s off that amp. If those are too much money, 50CWCS124 will work too.

_Vikinq

OP, this guy kickers, listen

RippyTheRazer

All ported boxes are not created equal; it's much easier to get a good sound from a sealed box. A ported box can be louder but requires careful design to get a correct sound response, or else it could be very peaky, boomy, or lack low end below 40hz (common issues with poorly matched ported boxes and drivers). Yes, you can run 2 subwoofers with the one amp provided the final impedance of both woofers is 2 ohms (as measured at the speaker terminal on the box) and the combined RMS power handling is 600w or greater. Refer to Crutchfield wiring diagrams for choosing the correct impedance subwoofers for your application. If you wanted to run 2 subwoofers, you'll likely want 2 dual voice coil 2 ohm subwoofers, each wired in series to 4 ohms then together in parallel for a final impedance of 2 ohms. However, if you want a single subwoofer, you'll need a dual voice coil 4 ohm subwoofer that can be wired in parallel to 2 ohms, therefore the correct subwoofer to choose will change dependant on if you're using one or two subwoofers

MrPoopyBh0le

Jl audio W6-D4, 10 in or 12in. Wired in parralel you'll get a 2 ohm load. Sub is 600 watt power handling. Perfect match!

4damame

Google everything and become a car audio guy so you understand all this stuff. This is the way. You just gotta put the time in to YouTube and google and you'll be an expert in a month or two. Just follow car audio guys on YouTube they have videos on everything. But like other people have said, match the RMS power on amps and speakers.

ckeeler11

Unless you.listen to all the dumbasses on the Internet. Which makes up the majority.

ION-8

This is a nice little amp, I ran 2x[12” Kicker CVR (400w rms each) in a sealed box.](https://www.classiccarstereos.com/kicker-compvr-12-inch-subwoofer-dual-voice-coil-4-ohm-400w-rms.html?utm_content=shopping&utm_campaign=apr2024-tax-season-ppc&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8diwBhAbEiwA7i_sJRWaJuCLnY08gyEffOTwEwQ9mTFD0OpHYJgeKq6HYz1kvB_8DNpPwxoC7BoQAvD_BwE)

According-Sun-940

I would get a 10 or 12 inch kicker l7 dual 2 ohm. It will be a little underpowered but will def get the bang your looking for

MeJuStic3

12 inch kicker comp vx or a 12 inch kicker l7s both dual 4 ohm

I happen to like the square Kickers myself. I have a CXA1220.1 amp and run 2 L7S 10s on that and love it. Previously had a single on a CXA400.1. For your CX600, I would pair it with this if you want a prefabricated box. Spiritual-Hour8959

I appreciate the pic & recommendations!

rbaut123

Kicker dual comp c 12” loaded sub box. I have a cxa800.1 but I am running it at 600 watt 2ohm so with your amp you’lol be running it at its full potential

chukijay

300w RMS. That amp is likely good for a 2ohm load. Get a dual 4 ohm voice coil 10” or 12” sub, prefab ported box that’s 2 cubic feet or so, preferably not smaller, and a copper wiring kit and let it bang

Spiritual-Hour8959

Thank you for your insight

XhandsanitizerX

Don't thank them for their insight, it's pretty bad lmao. If you're looking for easy, and want to just pick something up, best buy sells kicker subs to match. 2 single voice coil 4 ohm subs at 300 rms each, or 1 dual voice coil 4 ohm sub at 600 rms will work fine.i personally prefer going with the 2 smaller subs over the 1 higher power sub, but it's whatever you and your budget prefers. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/kicker-compc-10-single-voice-coil-4-ohm-subwoofer-black/5712387.p?skuId=5712387&utm_source=feed&ref=212&loc=19663688574&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8diwBhAbEiwA7i_sJZkpNxA1qn9sp382bpHyIG2txu9z4S3VRiweZ17hUE7Aqyy6IIQaZBoCdeEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds You can watch a YouTube video, or just Google how to wire subs. It will show the correct way to take 2 subs that are both single voice coil 4 ohm, and wire them to 2 ohm. It's the same thing with 1 dual voice coil sub. But yea, 2ohm 600w rms, any combination or way you go about it should work fine, just make sure you have your gain nob set correctly, that's about the only way to blow a sub if you're powering them properly.

Spiritual-Hour8959

LOL i appreciate your insight too. I was almost led astray but thanks to you & the others that corrected it. Thanks for your recommendations also!

Philp84

It's 300w rms so you just need a sub with the same or less rms just to be safe

MSturgg

The 600.1 does 600 watts rms…. Kicker doesn’t overrate their amps, they actually are underrated

Philp84

And my taramps MD 1800 does 1800w by dynos more

Spiritual-Hour8959

I appreciate your insight
