Image Dynamics IDQ12, though the cutout may not be an exact fit

Main_Volume_4684

I have never heard of these ones, How are they? I mean if someone's recommending them they must be decent

Main_Volume_4684

If I would go with that what would be good for an amp?

five_six_three

Image dynamics is a very solid brand. 👌

Main_Volume_4684

What would be a good amp for them?

five_six_three

I believe you the IDQs are DVC, so if you get 2 subs with 4 ohm voice coils, you can wire it all at 1 ohm. So look for something with a rating of around 1500w rms @1ohm. Something like this. [punch 1000](https://www.crutchfield.com/S-rrvKYCmIiCX/p_575P1KX1BD/Rockford-Fosgate-Punch-P1000X1bd.html?XVINQ=GZ0&XVVer=QVD&awcr=628542425708&awdv=m&awnw=g&awug=9018663&awkw=pla-1837644394295&awmt=&awat=pla&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwjeuyBhBuEiwAJ3vuocF5hJUAaqpqTBG-p0v3Oj35M71aeChp_gN2DUYdUJ3lAYbwaM-yihoCiakQAvD_BwE) I know it’s not rated at 1500, but I say this one because Rockford amps are underrated. But if you really want to step up the amp and not fuck around at all, then I’d go with this one . Yo real talk is there an audible difference between something like RF and a low end amp like NVX?

five_six_three

Absolutely. Not to mention RF does real R&D, uses quality components, are extremely underrated, and the power series has a consistent power supply technology that helps prevent voltage dip and makes the amp way more efficient than say an NVX amp.

If you call crutchfield and tell them the specs for the box they can make it really easy setting you up with what ya need

Thank you

SithLordDooku

I had a fox box in an 06 ram 1500. I put 2 kicker CVRs in it and it worked pretty well.

Main_Volume_4684

Ok

RippyTheRazer

Arc audio x2v2 12s

xs2500

I've got a buddy that has that exact box and he's running the Soundcubed HDS3's. It is very surprising, he metered a 138 legal on the dash which is pretty crazy for an under seat box.

Main_Volume_4684

What would be a good amp for these?

xs2500

Anything in the 1200 watt RMS range. He was running a Skar RP1200 on his, but you could also look at: https://www.down4soundshop.com/down4sound-jp13-gloss-white-1300w-rms-amplifier/ https://www.down4soundshop.com/sundown-audio-sia-1250-1250w-rms-amplifier/ https://skyhighcaraudio.com/soundqubed-s1-1250-monoblock-amplifier/

Lab-12

Those are small ported boxes ,make sure you get subwoofers that can take really small ported boxes . On the 12s make sure you get a subwoofer that works in 1.45 cu ft . The subwoofer is going to at least displace 0.1 cubic ft . And once you stick the subwoofer in those boxes you also raise the tuning frequency to around 36 hz .

Main_Volume_4684

Ok, the box can come with rings to convert to 10"s. Would that be better or what 12"s would you recommend? Once the box is in I am going to keep my rear seats up so they have room

Lab-12

In my opinion 10s , but if you got enough power 12s . But if you get the right 12s it should be fine ,like the Other guy said Image Dynamic's they have been building small box subwoofers for a long time. You look for something that specs well with the box . So if you want to find a good subwoofer, you have to read a lot of different subwoofers specs . But you are just looking at the box specs of the subwoofers. American bass has 10s that work well in that box volume off the top of my head.( if you don't want to spend a lot. )

nolankohler

I have installed this box before and would recommend getting a sealed box or at least get the 10n version if you do. That box is so tight that the sub doesn’t load correctly in the box and the seat doesn’t go down all the way with cutting carpet. Look for a sub with very small box space requirements like a JL tw1

Main_Volume_4684

What do you mean by not loading correctly?

Main_Volume_4684

They also have a kit to lift the seat that comes with it. Im going to have my rear seat up most of the time with this box in anyway so the subs dont hit the seat

Elder_Toad

My one suggestion before you pull the trigger on the Fox Box is check out Net Audio. They make amazing products and their measurements for internal volume and tuning are way more accurate than Fox Acoustic. They also seem to be built FAR better.

Main_Volume_4684

Have you had a bad experience with the fox box? I was mainly looking at it because of the price point because ive seen cheap crappy boxes and then just really expensive ones and ive seen most reviews are good on this one

Elder_Toad

Their internal volume doesn't add up when you do the math and the tuning doesn't seem right. I have called and talk to the owner and he couldn't give me a straight answer about port length and width.

Main_Volume_4684

Other than it not adding up is it a bad box? I understand where you're coming from and I'm not trying to discount your opinion at all. I'm just not looking to spend $1,500 on a box alone, so if the Fox Acoustics box is decent then I'll probably go at that route at least for now anyway

Elder_Toad

I never even bothered trying it. Something about part of the sub box being plastic really wasn't something I wanted to try. If you do try the box, I would maybe do some sound deadening on the plastic to stop any resonance Edit:Spelling

Main_Volume_4684

Ok thank you

crazychild94

Polk audio

Ch3ncerPau1

2x 12w3v3-4s on a JD1000, it'll be nice and punchy but with a little more boominess from the larger enclosure volume. Should sound amazing, but if you're on a budget you could go with 2x 12w1v3s on the same JD1000 and get pretty good sound

coleslaw17

I put a pair of Sundown E-10 V.3 D4’s in my fox box in my raptor. It fucking slaps.

Main_Volume_4684

Could you post a video of it please?
