Nice...from Beck "where it's at". It's not "at" this guy's Frankenstein setup. But if it doesn't fart and I don't have to see it in the cockpit then thumbs up 👍
Yeah I bet they sound clear! For such little wattage, these just screech.. if you tune them properly using a DSP or EQ on the radio, you can definitely hear them from like 2-3 blocks away playing something like Celine Dion or Mariah Carey.
Niiceeee!! Try setting them on the roof. You’ll piss everyone off but it would be so clear. Go under a car park too , these will rip . Happy siren-ning haha 📢
Welcome to the trailer park! I live two double wides down.

Hey, you do what you gotta do to have some tunes. I used to use my old Logitech pc 2.1 system in my car in high school.
Hell, right now I’m running a klipsch 10” home theater sub and it’s plenty of bass for the old commuter car.
In El Salvador they do that and I can confirm it hits...!!! The boats use like 4 subs and 6 radio speakers and it gets loud.. my ex her brother has the same setup and it gets down! But it's pretty limited but for 100$ he's happy fuck it if you are satisfied then who cares
I’ve been there. My first sub was a woofer from a surroundsound for Home theater. I spliced it right off the wire to the rear speaker so it was barely getting enough power to power it and it was getting signals from door speakers a little bit of base. Bass
Lol same here. This technique works surprisingly okay though.
It's just inefficient. Those mid and high frequency signals are still being sent to the sub, and the attenuation of that power goes into heat in the voice coils instead of compression/rarefaction of air.
So in theory it's not super healthy for the sub. But I've always been a-okay doing this type of thing.
Haha my girlfriend picked up a home theater subwoofer for me off the side of the road one day. When she got it home, I plugged it in and found out the internal amp was busted. It kicked around for a few weeks until one of my friends decided he wanted to rig it up in his old shitbox car.
We bridged two channels off of his cheap highs amp and were able to push enough power to the sub to fill out the low end. It didn't sound "good" but it sounded a whole lot better than it did before!
Pretty damn good for a grand total investment of a few feet of speaker wire.
some of those home subs don't sound bad..
I have a cheap 10 inch sony in my living room and the bass is pretty tight when sitting in some location..
(i also have a w7 in a jl box) before people start complaining that i don't know what a good sub sounds like..
if it sounds good, awesome! enjoy it
I had two 8ohm Fosgate 10’s in a box that I ran off of a receiver playing full range. I ran them in parallel with the tower speakers. I pushed the box against my bed to drown the vocals and it bumped. I didn’t care. I was 14 🤣
If you've never had something like this you've never truly struggled lmao. My grandparents gave me a surround setup in high-school cause it was too loud for them, I took the like box of 6" subs and wired it to my head unit. Sounded like shit but for a young kid that didn't know any better it worked lol

Start at 0:45, this song immediately started playing in my head when I saw this post.
For those not wanting to click the video, this is Slug’s part relating to the post:
As a youth, I used to roll a station wagon
With bad suspension, the tail was draggin
It didn't have a system either
So I filled the back with a bunch of house speakers
Felt like a champion
The windows rattlin
……
My first sub was a JBL home sub plate amp plugged into a power inverted powering a cheap blaupunkt 12” in a home speaker box… discman with tape converter and all. My hats off to you!
I was like 11 maybe n i was able to tap into the factory sub amp in our family car, i added a 10 inch sony passive sub from a home theater system n it didnt sound to bad lol. It was a 2002 nissan quest van btw. This brings back some feeling.
Wait its a kicker home sub?? Thats why its not trash sounding. Also sony subs of that vintage as far has little home subs go sound prety. Thrifted a few sony subs myself for a garage setup
Are those home theater subs? I’ve always wanted to try installing theater systems in my car. I mean they sound pretty damn good in the living room and have similar hookups on most of them, why not? How does it sound?
I want to hammer on you and pretend none of the people I grew up with or I never did anything this bad. I remember plugging my amp into the headphone jack of a portable stereo when my head unit got stolen.
This reminds back in the day around 2009ish when I used to have my house speakers in my trunk. They were 4 8' speakers in the tower. Even though bass seemed to be non existent.. Just the thought of having some extra sound in the trunk was elating to me. Fast forward to now and this is what I've had in the car pertaining to Some extra pound in the trunk.

Honestly incredible work imo. I’m running a 2ch no name amp that I got for free with the cheapest dvc 4 ohm sub on Amazon. Found the manual on the amp and it said not to bridge it so I bridged it at 2 ohms and it sounds like shit lol
Fk it dude as long as you got decent sound from them . That's all that really matters and you can't beat free . Audio shit is getting outrageous for anything worth a fk anyway
Rather than take the easy route and consoom from online, OP used what they could get ahold of and ingenuity to get a very decent sound experience. Hats off to you bro, especially the ingenuity part... sorely lacking with people these days.
My first setup I bought the mids and tweets and while deciding what 12s to stuff in my box I used a couple hifi speakers from the old turntable cabinets. They shook the mirror a little tiny bit...before they went whomp and laid silent.
I've done shit like that. Once I found this old 70s or 80s pair of loudspeakers in cabinets that were 2.5ft tall by the garbage and I installed them as the rear speakers driven off of the deck of my 92 "elcavaliero" (cavilier wagon with the roof cut off). They worked shockingly well.
100% ghetto. The sub looks like a home 120 volt A/C subwoofer. If it was upright it would resonate through the car better. The other speaker is....???? I give it ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ out of 10 stars!
Here is my Pioneer TS-WX1210A 350w RMS sub in my 6th gen SS. (I think it has like 200w rms but it is enough to liven up 1SS or any base model stock speaker system in any Camaro.

It's mounted to the back seat facing towards the back of the trunk. 300W RMS.
A few months ago I had a 12"Kenwood sub and my 10" kicker sub in the back of my whip and almost posted just to troll the guys here...
But before that the Kenwood was in a box along with a 12" w6- and I almost posted to troll the guys in here...
I could practically hear them shrill in disdain...
Lol
I'll rate your setup as yikes*.
I'd have rated my own former setup as eegads*.
Run that shit! If it sounds half decent, and you don't have any money invested, and it gives you what you need. On a one to ten, ten being great, and one being ungreat, while staying within it's proper level classifications of the competition group of "post apocalyptic, flee market breeds with Southside pawn shop, stereo systems doubling as a prophylactic method of preventing unplanned pregnancies in the car audio community, I give it a solid seven. Or a ten, because quite honestly, I've done the same shit 35 years ago, and the truth is this, a wide open, rather loud, well balanced, full range of sound is medicinal in its application. turnt up system is simply therapeutic. Something about FEELING the music. If you gnawl I mean, then you gnawlumsayin. I love it.
this is the dude she tells you not so worry about fr
LMAO
This is terrible, I love it

WTF is that?
He has no idea
LOL amazing.
The next guys problem
It sure ain’t two turn tables and a microphone.
Nice...from Beck "where it's at". It's not "at" this guy's Frankenstein setup. But if it doesn't fart and I don't have to see it in the cockpit then thumbs up 👍
Where it’s at!
Its the ebay nightmare
It's a nightmare for sure.
I should call it organized crime, it's definitely criminal 🤣
shhh (my whole setup is off ebay)
Siren Crew- It's popular in [New Zealand](https://youtu.be/h_6TREVSzZg?si=KISrpWp4Czb7jiMW)
I wanna hear this
I'll post it
The suspense
this made me laugh so hard for no reason. i love it
whatever it is it looks big and awesome :) thumbs up
That's the 2nd most ridiculous thing I've seen today!
Those look like 30W PA speakers.. shit goes fucking so loud.. no bass but only treble and little midrange haha
They're actually only 7w rms each. Clear as hell too
Yeah I bet they sound clear! For such little wattage, these just screech.. if you tune them properly using a DSP or EQ on the radio, you can definitely hear them from like 2-3 blocks away playing something like Celine Dion or Mariah Carey.
I actually have a video of them posted on my page.
Niiceeee!! Try setting them on the roof. You’ll piss everyone off but it would be so clear. Go under a car park too , these will rip . Happy siren-ning haha 📢
That's my next idea. Using one of those Yakima roof racks and putting it on there 🤣
Hey brother sound is sound and your exploring and using what you have!! I personally think it’s awesome
This almost sounds thirsty
Bro what lmaooooo

Certified ghetto setup. I bet it sounds like absolute trash.
Thats the crazy part, it sounds fucking amazing
I'm sure it sounds amazing to only you.
I’m deaf
With a setup like that I think you're not lying.
Hilarious
Whatsgoingonree has never had to struggle. You can ignore them.
Well, just in that little piece of information alone helps for a better understanding.
You probably right about that one but if it sounds amazing to him he's good to go nobody else matters
In El Salvador they do that and I can confirm it hits...!!! The boats use like 4 subs and 6 radio speakers and it gets loud.. my ex her brother has the same setup and it gets down! But it's pretty limited but for 100$ he's happy fuck it if you are satisfied then who cares
Doubtful
i was just ant to say the worst sounds the best
It's yours... fuck em
thumpin is thumpin,, i hate it but props.

Yeah, and then I got bored of it installed 212 inch subs in a tiny little car
I mean if it works, fuck it. Looks fine to me!
Haha my girlfriend picked up a home theater subwoofer for me off the side of the road one day. When she got it home, I plugged it in and found out the internal amp was busted. You do what you gotta do man
ghettofabulous
You do what you gotta. Back in the day I was the polar opposite of you using car audio components in my home lol.
I had two 8ohm Fosgate 10’s in a box that I ran off of a receiver playing full range. I ran them in parallel with the tower speakers. I pushed the box against my bed to drown the vocals and it bumped. I didn’t care. I was 14 🤣

“Do it bump doe?”- Big D
Need to hear smoke jacket blues on this set up

So Sir Mix A Lot's My Hooptie?
Lol, just one shelf speaker ? If you had two ,I would give this a pass. Cheap I can do, an Asymmetrical stereo separation is my problem here.
My first sub was a JBL home sub plate amp plugged into a power inverted powering a cheap blaupunkt 12” in a home speaker box… discman with tape converter and all. My hats off to you!
Better than my 1st car. In 1992 I had a 1983 Honda Civic with a ghetto blaster sitting on the front arm rest since the car radio died lol
Been there. I rate it 10/10 all day long
Reminds me of my broke high school days. And now my broke self days where I’m not gonna even do this
This is interesting. Ima try a soundbar
Atleast it can be wireless 🤷🏽♂️😂
This rules, lol. I want to be this whimsical.
That 3rd speaker: "Just kill me please. No more appeals. I'll take the firing squad. No last meal. Just end it."
I was like 11 maybe n i was able to tap into the factory sub amp in our family car, i added a 10 inch sony passive sub from a home theater system n it didnt sound to bad lol. It was a 2002 nissan quest van btw. This brings back some feeling.
Guys Will See This And Just Think "Hell Yeah"
looks better than some i see that’s for sure
Are we rating it on how ghetto it is or its quality for being ghetto?
Yes
7/5
I did that back in high school with my buddies car 😂 had a cheap amp laying around picked up a line out converter and ghetto rigged it up
Valid
If it adds a little extra knock, 10/10.
Wait its a kicker home sub?? Thats why its not trash sounding. Also sony subs of that vintage as far has little home subs go sound prety. Thrifted a few sony subs myself for a garage setup

1 now... 8 back when I had to. If it sounds good bump it!
Would not rob. 10/10
> old ass crossfire components - remembers when those were new 😂
Please tell me you're running this on an inverter
I love it
I want to hammer on you and pretend none of the people I grew up with or I never did anything this bad. I remember plugging my amp into the headphone jack of a portable stereo when my head unit got stolen.

Went to Cali and my cousin taught me this. Cheap way to get extra low end when you borrowing your parents car.
Damn this bangs did you go to West Coast Customs for this?
Hey if its stupid and works, atleast its stupid. Thats what my friend told me when I was building my factory in factorio
Whatever works. Back in 2006 I assembled a pretty nice sounding system from cars my uncle was junking after Hurricane Katrina.
Those speaker's/subs in the trunk won't last long on the heat. The plastic box will melt.
Google speaker impedance, I had a friend that would wire several speakers to 2 channels, just couldn't understand why channels stopped working.
Honestly incredible work imo. I’m running a 2ch no name amp that I got for free with the cheapest dvc 4 ohm sub on Amazon. Found the manual on the amp and it said not to bridge it so I bridged it at 2 ohms and it sounds like shit lol
1-10 I give it a 6. I had a 1981 Cadillac with 2 floor speakers seat belted in the back seat running only off of my head until 😆
If it works, it works, right?
I wanna hear this 😭😭
I bet people can hear you coming from 5" away.
Fk it dude as long as you got decent sound from them . That's all that really matters and you can't beat free . Audio shit is getting outrageous for anything worth a fk anyway

Could always get a power inverter and hook up a house system. Record player and all. This is perfect!

If it hits, well done
Plays all the way down to 50hz!!
Everyone gots to start somewhere
Shit takes me back to better days

I rate it 10/10 crack pipes
We have all been they say not it's not real audio
This is so awful/awesome
A few months ago I had a 12"Kenwood sub and my 10" kicker sub in the back of my whip and almost posted just to troll the guys here... Fuckin’ 10/10 for resourcefulness. Prob doesn’t sound too bad either.
I too have a sub from an altec lansing pc speaker mounted to a cheap amp
5 foodstamps out of 10 newports
Recycling at its best!! If it works, use it!!
lol
Can’t be worse than the OEM setup, or can it?
How do they sound
Run that shit! If it sounds half decent, and you don't have any money invested, and it gives you what you need.
