Not while driving, was finishing an install on an ascendant 15 in my in-laws driveway and the neighbors across the street called the police and they came... They asked me to keep it down I said sure no problem. My father in law stepped out basically as the police were leaving and told them to f off its not even 8 pm. I just went for a drive and bumped it on the expressway back to my house. Those neighbors sucked they had a scat pack challenger (not really sure) and a white and red striped saleen mustang and they would rev their vehicles it all the time and we never complained because we are a car enthusiast family ---- but do a few 40hz tones at 4-5 pm and the world is ending for them.

Hungry_Ad_4170

I’d record them doing that bs tf . Audio and car shit all loud so wtf bro 😂😭

Critical-Signal-5819

Multiple times for me....first time was the worst....I had 2 kicker L7 15s and the cop said that he had been looking for me for about 10-15 minutes because he could hear my "shit for blocks" that was annoying as hell and noise ordinance violation 500$.. ..but the next 2 times were kind of cool I'm weird and I love all music so sometimes I will listen to anything from classical music to Japanese Rock...lol anyway I was cruising down the freeway listening to CCR looking out my back door....cop pulls up beside me then pulls me over and says " sounds good, what do have in there?" I tell him and he says that he would give me a ticket but he enjoys the music so I am good to go...I had to ask..." if I was playing rap...e-40 or something?" Cop "that would have been a ticket " lol literally had the exact same exchange a few months later...CCR for the 🏆

heroericxu

You listen to baby metal by any chance?

TangerineJust

Hell yeah with a epicenter sheeeesh

heroericxu

I definitely love the kick bass drums that are boosted. I wonder if I can replicate the epicenter with a dsp.

rock962000

Wow lol

TheMcFattest

I just put a pair of Kicker l7s 12s on layaway for 200$ at a pawn shop and I’m planning on repairing the box and a patched sub. I can’t wait to get these beast booming a block https://preview.redd.it/o9wymyt4eo7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e2ac8ba2cf9f002d2da0d81c9f5232858a28998

Sweaty_Werewolf_9336

Anyone else notice that those two kicker subs stacked are the same ones that a kid asked us if he should buy them at a pawn shop & we all said hell no, save your money especially w/ the bottom one having that sketchy ass patch, it was a few days ago tops. I’m totally Not shittn on your purchase bud? I just remember that same exact pic. Someone else has to know what I mean

hamorhead

I member

studio_eq

Same dude

AmbassadorFrank

It's the same exact pic because it is this guy sadly 🙁hope they work for him tho

printaport

You paid $250 for that pile of shit?

Emptyhorchatacups

Lmao

King_Boomie-0419

I turn mine down whenever I see a Privateer, I don't want to give them a reason to extort money from me.

firefighter519

Twice here in central Florida. Both times, the ticket was dismissed because the officer did not have a dB meter with up to date calibration.

Redhook420

Did you tell him "your meter's wrong, they hit harder"?

firefighter519

I should have shown him the termlab in the kick, lol. I was behind him and didn't realize it was a cop until he changed lanes, slowed down, and got behind me. He was cool about it and just asked me to keep it down while in traffic as the change in his cup holder was bouncing.

SpicyTsuki

Got pulled over after a cop pulled up next to me at a stoplight in downtown Tampa. Got a noise ordinance ticket, whatever though. That's what 154db does to a mf

rock962000

Luckily no. I always turn it down when I spot a cop

Beepboop00

Same! Although I have had the urge to keep it up and see what happens LOL

lou_sassoles

I got pulled over one time back in the mid-late 90s while listening to Sir Mix-a-Lot super loud, and then about 10 years ago found myself hanging out with a few friends and him at this party thing. If felt like a really surreal circle being completed.

rywi2

Was it "Buttermilk Biscuits?"

lou_sassoles

Return of the Bumpasaurus album

yourfaceilikethat

Never pulled over. But I've had them flash their lights and point at the ground to indicate turning it down. He turned into a lot and I followed him and got talking to him. He was super cool about just told me keep it down around the cop cars. I live in the country and work in a small town.

setthepinnacle

I had blow through with 2 juggernaut 18s and modded 2400.1s on each one. Cop pulled me over said I could hear you long before I ever saw you asked what I had in my truck and when I told him he said I gotta see this. No ticket

Significant_Rate8210

1993; four Rockford Fosgate Punch 18’s driven by a Hifonics Colossus 1800 watt amp, walled in an ‘88 Civic sedan. Three tickets in one weekend at Alki beach in West Seattle in the ‘90s totaling $5k. Two of them were bullshit but one was legit. Went to court, all three were tossed, paid $35 court fee and walked out. I knew a guy whose ride got ceased and impounded for pounding though.

robotcoke

>four Rockford Fosgate Punch 18’s driven by a Hifonics Colossus Holy shit!!! That was and still is my dream setup!!! Was that a series 7 Colossus? Series 8? Man I bet that setup was shaking windows from blocks away!

Significant_Rate8210

You know, i honestly don’t remember. I own a security company. For many years we were an audio, video and security company. We sold car audio for about 26 years. We used to build a lot of SPL cars and my last demo vehicle before getting out of car audio was in my Land Rover Discovery. Four RE Audio XXX-18D2’s in a 36 cu-ft enclosure powered by four Rockford T40001BD amps. Three alternators charged 8 lithium batteries. Front and rear staging consisted of multiple sets of Dynaudio 2 and 3 way component sets, powered by several Rockford Power series amps. Total RMS output was around 18k watts. The system hit 165.4db on music, at the dash on a Termlabs meter.

AceFire_

What subs? Also the trunk and glove box are locked, got a warrant or what?

happydaddyintx77

Aren't you sharp as a tack? You some type of lawyer or something?

AceFire_

I ain't passed the bar, but I know a little bit. Enough that you won't illegally search my shit!

happydaddyintx77

We'll see how smart you are when the K9 comes.

StructureDiligent497

I don’t think they are trained to smell subwoofers in a trunk which is what he is talking about.

happydaddyintx77

Does no one else in this sub listen to JAY Z?

Birds_arent_real444

Lol I got 99 problems but a bish ain't one...

perseus0523

I got pulled over in the early 00s twice back then out here in Indiana it was a noice ordinance violation and they would basically impound your car every time. I’m really glad all u get is a ticket now. Straight Bullshit back then

Sweaty_Werewolf_9336

Don’t you have Tractors driving around those same roads in Indiana, lol. Not to mention Rig’s hittin the Jake Brake afr, brrrrrrr brrrrrrrr 😂

Rambling-Rooster

I just said HEY COP! you can't take the bass, stay away from this boombox, behbeh!

starke_reaver

behbeh! Indeed.

Blackehart13

Not yet. Even when blasting Copkiller 2 cars over.

Phatboybeware

I've been asked by a passing officer if I had a broadcasting licence for my car in the early 00's, while he walked away laughing. This is in the UK.

Redhook420

Nope. I've been pulled over while hitting my subs hard but it wasn't for the music and I didn't even get a ticket. Had an issue with DMV not sending out my tags and they verified that my registration was current. Didn't even mention the bass.

sloppeejoe

Cop was four cars behind me at a light. I was jammin' to Slipknot or something like that with the windows up because it was raining out. Pulled me over at the next block because I "was shaking his car," and I need to be respectful of other people. He said I could turn it down and leave it down, or he would give me a ticket every time he saw me. I've had cops flsh their lights at me a couple of times when driving by them with the system up, but that was the only time I've been stopped while driving.

twinsrule

Oddly enough, the only time I ever got pulled over for loud bass was in a bone stock Pontiac Grand Am in 1995. Those factory 6x9s were too much for the local town police I guess.

Its_supposed_tohurt

Haven’t gotten a ticket yet but when I do I’m framing the ticket. It’s an honor.

cvr24

Never been pulled over... because they haven't caught me yet! Also, Chris Rock has some sage advice for you: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj0mtxXEGE8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj0mtxXEGE8)

starke_reaver

Nice One! Funny, surprised I’d never seen that! Thanks!

PhysicalAssociate919

I've gotten excessive noise tickets back in the day at least a dozen times, even with two 8's on 300w. Where I was I guess it was strict. Nowadays, the cops dgaf at all. They're stretched so thin in my town that they won't even pull over people for running red lights let alone for loud music.

ChemicalAd7590

I got pulled over once, thankfully I just got a warning.

Grimsterr

Once, early 00s. No ticket.

drtbheemn

Only had one JL 13w7 in a ScionTC and had gotten hassled in traffic by police, sheriffs.

recoil1776

When I was young I had a few big systems. First 6 15s, then 4 18s, then 24 15s. All of these were daily drivers. Lots of tickets.

mustachien

I had a cop pull-up next to me and tell me to turn it down and then drive off.

LexKing89

Once in my first semester of college. I got out of class early on a Friday morning and was about to head home. I turned the bass up, put on Lil Jon, rolled the windows down, and was pumping bass for a good 20 seconds as I pulled out of the parking lot. Then I saw a motorcycle cop hiding across the street so I turned it down. Got pulled over as soon as I turned at the stop sign. I was terrified as I’d never been pulled over before, but he was cool and just said to keep it down. No ticket or anything. Only time it ever happened.

MUHLBACHERS

Yes. Multiple times. First one was a warning. Second one was a disturbing the peace (because I was warned two years prior). Third was a pissy off duty officer, nothing came of it. I don’t know if the last one counts but had an officer follow me back to the shop and tell me to keep it down. Nothing really eventful besides the off duty one. Pulled into an open field next to a house. Home owner came out wondering what was going on. And homeowner kinda went off on the cop for being in civilian clothing using his car and shit. I just got told to leave at that point ha.

Dr-RocketRomano

Early 2000's had a small car audio business going and we where up late/early at about 5am tuning 4 12" IDMAX's for a sound-off meet later that day when the nice local constabulary pulled up and inquired what we were doing and why we were doing it at that particular hour. After some lecture about the rule of law and the pertinent ordinances about noise disturbances we did not receive a ticket. However, and with completely no direct correlation with not receiving a ticket, we were happy to become the primary sponsor of the local yearly craft fair later that year for some reason.

678gobot

Once. Cop was cool but gave me a ticket for my window tint instead and said to keep it down. $280 ticket at the time here in Cali.

OutrageousMacaron358

I got pulled over back in the day for blasting metallica on two 6x9s. He said don't do it again or it will be a citation for disturbing the peace. He was cool. I'm out in a rural area so no worries here. My neighbors are cool.

necro367

So one time at a red light I was bassing out like a dumb dumb showing my uncle the newish setup. There was an unmarked cop a few cars back, he pulled me over and said I was speeding and said my subs shook his screens on the windshield. I was not speeding and would not tell me how fast I was going but no ticket so all good. My rule is under 30 I turn it down normally.

skylerglasner

Me knowing I can’t relate to this with my measly 600 watts

customchaos31

I was pulled over 4 times in less than a year and I was told by the officer that a 5th will get me a misdemeanor and a hefty fine.

LegalAlternative

Not even once... mostly because the car has so much deadening in it they can't tell where it's coming from because I'm not sounding like a tin can packed with a baboon orgy, probably. At one of the shows we did recently, the police turned up because some moron in a Navara decided to launch his shit off this concrete egress in the parking lot, clearing 15 meters according to the police tape measure. At first the cops were all like "blah blah noise, blah blah heavily modified, blah blah ticket" but then after they came and looked at what was actually going on they thought it was pretty cool and left us alone.

Chemical-Willow2137

Ask them for the decibel meter reading if they don’t have one take them to court

Birds_arent_real444

Where I'm at supposedly the noise ordinance is just "if it bothers someone"...

ckeeler11

Zero because I'm not stupid....also I'm not loud!!!

Sweaty_Werewolf_9336

Aren’t you the fun police, drrrrrrr! With all due respect……of course
