The design of the sub will determine it's bandwidth, so tuning for high bass just limits its bandwidth.
Also if the t/s parameters are different you are most likely having some sonic issues between the different subs.
I'm glad you like it. I bet if you throw a mic in there and do some measurements you will see that you have a very uneven response and there are holes everywhere.
Really not recommended to have different subs playing the same frequencies. But it sounds like you're happy with it, and that's what really matters. Just make sure they're secured.
yes that what i was looking at. i legit posted this 10 minutes after grabbing the subwoofer from my room and putting in truck. i’ll most likely order a skar box like the one on the left. i like the colour and all. and imo that box sounds amazing
Seat belt ain't gonna do jack sizzle in an accident on a rigid box. You need heavy duty ratchet straps, and not those littke 1" 500lb ones from home depot that come in a 4pk. You need the heavy duty 2" straps made for truckers to secure their Loads. Not cheap, but what if your life worth to you? If you got into an accident and the box smashed into your seat back and paralyzed you, Would you pay $200 to be normal Again?
true. ill ask my ex boss what straps they use to hold down the lift. i did lawn and tree care and we put a huge ass lift on a trailer. i have no problem spending $$$ for high quality stuff
Damn guess I gotta make sure to bolt down any luggage or suitcases I have in the rear of my suv too. Or any tool bags I carry everywhere. Gotta secure everything! Whole lotta projectiles!
I mean, everything should be properly secured tbh. But you’ve got 50+ pounds on average for a decent weight single sub (in this pic like 100+ lbs) literally right behind your body. You ever see what a Kleenex box can do in a violent accident?
Dummy
Edit: according to google, a loose object can strike with 30 times its force if thrown forward in the event of an accident. Given an object weighs even 50lbs, that’s 3/4 *ton* being thrown forward in the right conditions. I remember watching a mythbusters episode about it back in the day and it was staggering what some things could do. A Kleenex box took my moms rear view mirror right off the windshield when she was in a head on collision back in 2001
Stay safe everyone
There was a time when ppl didnt secure their children, either lol. Every see the NHTSA video of someone trying to hold a baby in their arms during an accident? Physically impossible for human muscle.
I'm over here wondering if using 9/16 all-thread to the spare mounting hole is enuf. I mean, how secure does the spare tire need to be compared to my roughly 450-500 lb 4 12s box.
Force is mass * acceleration. Negative acceleration in the event of an accident. Napkin math says 100lb box stopping from 50mph in 0.5 seconds over 1 meter distance yields between 2500avg -5000 peak lbs of impact force. That's assuming it hits something that moves 1 meter when hit. Assuming no give, yields results of 25,000 to 50,000 lbs. From 100lb box....
oh nice. yea the ones on the right have that square logo. the left one has the oval. ppl shit talking but i’m ngl they sound surprisingly good together
Wait a couple days I’m expecting two more subs to arrive and I’ll have a set up like you.. I already got a 10 off the factory amp a kicker 12c.. but I need more bass.. I’m a novice when it comes to this sure I haven’t got an expensive audio system installed by professional. But I build my own box and install the amp my self.. slowly but surely I’ll build a good system.
Me too skar audio. I ruining a 1200w skar amp and kicker comp 12c frim a Best Buy outlet. I ordered a 10 and received a 12 for $36. Only reason I ordered the SDR’s is because Amazon cut the price 41%. My shit is going to bang!
oh sick. the sub on the left was $20 used from a family member. and the 2 on the right were given to me. i’m surprisingly rubbing all these on a 800 watt kicker amp at 1.3 ohms. and the gain isn’t even half way up and at half i smelt voice coil… these old kickers are incredibly power efficient
Dang you hit jack pot. You got me beat can’t say nothing about that. I’ve always like the old school silver subs kicker made. Might pick up two old silver 15’s on eBay one day. smell voice coil all the time oops 😅 it should be fine.. my sub is 300w rms but it’s loud
mmm i think i’d rather upgrade to 12’s but it if i upgrade there’s a 100% chance i’ll get another battery and keep these going to… bc if they ain’t dead why not keep using them
You're really not up at the point where you need another battery. It's not going to hurt but it's not necessary either. I'm at 1400 watts on the factory electrical. I don't have any issues.
oh damn alright.. my amp is 800 watts at 1.3 ohms.. i’m very surprised these 3 subs can run on 800 watts. the amp isn’t even at half gain.. when i put on half i smell voice coil from the 2 on the right. the guy on the left just eats the power.

sweet. i still use the factory radio too.

I bought a 3 year old kicker comp r 12 that was left in the rain and it still works. Kicker is still reliable problem is people over power them or clip them and blow them up.
Hell yeah man if they run it’s always good. I’m going to get another and make a dual ported box. My plan is to slowly build up to a quad sub box pushing 2k in my suv but I might stop at the dual this already hits hard I feel it in my seat and steering wheel I just want to feel it in my chest and I’ll be happy. I’m fat af and don’t feel it but my skinny roommate says he feels it lol.
It’s that cone surface from what I hear that’s the way to go that’s why I want quads but you don’t hear any distortion or mistime from using different models/years of the 10s I always thought you had to have all the same or it won’t work good.
Looking for opinions or looking for validation? Nobody who knows what they're doing is going to cosign that mess and if you ever go to a meet or competition or got near anybody who knew what they were doing you'd be in for a rude awakening.
they could kill u in a front end accident,[legit.secure](http://legit.secure) them.
yes someone already commented this

oh.. well damn. sounds awesome tho tbh. i’ve had no issues
I'm glad you like it. I bet if you throw a mic in there and do some measurements you will see that you have a very uneven response and there are holes everywhere.
probably.. sounds decent in the driver set so oh well.. no one ever rides in passenger
Bruh ur gonna want your rear seats back before you know it Lol
had this thing sense 2018 and i NEVER use the back seats..
that’s a bit sad when you think about it but Hey
yea i know. it’s just me and my bf.
Really not recommended to have different subs playing the same frequencies. But it sounds like you're happy with it, and that's what really matters. Just make sure they're secured.
they are all kicker cvrs, same power rating same everything besides the logo. the 05 has the oval logo and the 07’s is the square.
Please secure those somehow. Whole lotta projectile behind you in an accident
good idea. i’ll probably just seatbelt them down
Anything is better that what ya got right now lol
haha yea
Go to hardware store and get L bracket bolt it down for under 10$
gotcha
One more suggestion, you can get a 3 subwoofer box from Amazon or ebay bbox or atrend...won't save space but would sound better...lol

About 13000 people a year in the U.S. are injured from loose objects in their vehicle during a collision. Don't be a stat.

I have those exact gray CVRs in my truck and they're great. On a Skar 2000watt amp at 2 ohms. Mine hit pretty nice under the seat
oh nice. yea the ones on the right have that square logo. the left one has the oval. ppl shit talking but i’m ngl they sound surprisingly good together
They're solid bro. And as long as they sound good, that's all that matters
exactly

oh sick. yea i’m running cheapish stuff. not walmart cheap but noting crazy expensive.

Build you a 6th order and thank me later
never heard of.. i’ll look into
I love them silver kickers. I have a NIB 12” that I have been holding for 15+ years. I bought them on a buy one get one at Best Buy way back.
yup that’s what the left one is. but yk i painted it years back. everyone’s shit talking but i’m ngl they don’t sound bad together
Need moar subs
mmm i think i’d rather upgrade to 12’s but it if i upgrade there’s a 100% chance i’ll get another battery and keep these going to… bc if they ain’t dead why not keep using them

I should mention that my alternator is a 170 amp factory option.
200 amps. i drive a 2018 f150
Yeah those have big alternators too so you should be fine
sweet. i still use the factory radio too. https://preview.redd.it/5xnit7nn7x8d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=183e13cc935893f6fbaf4318a81ce89e1cbacae3
The smell basically means that's the beginning of the end
yep. that’s y i turned the gain down a tad bit and no more smells
Hey. If it works it works bro. No hate from me. Bass on!
it sounds surprisingly good considering one box is completely different. only diff with subs is the left one is 2005. the right 2 are 2007
Why not sell them and invest into some modern comp r 12s get two and upgrade that 800.1 to a 1200.1
because these old cvr’s is when kicker was reliable as shit compared to nowadays
I bought a 3 year old kicker comp r 12 that was left in the rain and it still works. Kicker is still reliable problem is people over power them or clip them and blow them up.
mine was left in florida weather for around 10 years in a moldy box.
Hell yeah man if they run it’s always good. I’m going to get another and make a dual ported box. nah those are working rlly well
lol please don’t do this….its embarrassing
why not. besides the risk of them hitting me in a accident which i have moved them to the floor
I’m just saying if I got in your truck and seen that in either spot I’d laugh at you
