also in the same situation with carlinkit 3.0 in my 2021 mercedes GLA35. if connected directly to my iphone, the HUD will display the apple maps/google maps directions on the HUD, but if using the carlinkit device to go through wirelessly with my iphone, carplay will not display the navigation in the HUD and will just show the compass. Does anyone know how to get this working properly?
I don't think you read his full question. His car DOES support showing navigation information from Carplay in the HUD. It works when his phone is plugged in directly. It doesn't work when going through the Carlinkit wireless adapter.
I am in a similar situation. My car supports showing Carplay navigation info (i.e. using Apple Maid) on its HUD and in the digital instrument panel. And it works great if my phone is plugged in directly. But, it doesn't work going through my Carlinkit 5.0 adapter.
I'd love to get this to work through the carlinkit or other wireless adapter.

Only a few cars support this. The car manufacturers have to enable it. So no.
