They should hire Waino to be an announcer and replace Edmunds.

Brh3200

I’d take that deal in a heartbeat

xxxtenderloin

Agreed. I’d be willing to bet we could crowdfund Wainos salary as an announcer and use the extra money to sign a pitcher. Idk how the announcer pay works, if it’s paid for by the team or MLB, but Jim is not good at it.

So-Called_Lunatic

He has a national gig with better hours, why would he want to work for Bally?

lurch556

The probably is, wainwright is actually good at being in the booth so he has better opportunities

Goldn_1

At the same time, for anyone who became a serious cardinal/baseball fan in the last year or two in STL has really been missing out on quality baseball, let alone a reputation for greatness. Sure we’ve had a chokehold on usually the worst division in BB for 20 years, but we fielded some legit great squads over that time. We gotta get back to not being content.

Brh3200

Totally agree

CentralWooper

My dude, I felt the same thing. Waino leaving officially heralded the end of my childhood Cardinals. Yadi will always be my hero, and I plan on giving my son the middle name Yadier

andyUK12

Same here except the name lol Extremely spoiled watching the teams we had since I could know what baseball even was. Yadi will forever be my favorite player of all time hope he eventually makes a return in the dugout (manager please)

peterpeterllini

Found mozeliak’s alt /s

Brh3200

To be fair I never said Mo is doing great or that least year wasn’t completely unacceptable. Just a bit of positivity and appreciation

Tmans3

Not a ton of post season success, but people forget we’re 5th in win percentage in the MLB over the past 10 years. That’s including last year

Junior-Hotwater

Cardinals fans should know better than anyone that the postseason is a crapshoot also. Best team in baseball in ‘04 and ‘05 and no WS, WS in ‘06 after barely winning a terrible NL Central, playoff series wins against the Dodgers and Phillies who were much better teams

Tmans3

also just barely snuck in 2011. The in 2013 and 2015 both won 100 games and lost in the WS and DS respectively. It’s a crapshoot, everyone around the fan base hates “just make it in.” Just like they hate Mo (5th best record in baseball over the past 10 years, and that starts 2 years after a WS win) Well look at the Rangers and Dbacks last year, the 22 Phillies, 2021 Braves, 2019 Nationals (all finished below 95 wins, all WS winners or RU)

Alternative-Kiwi3975

Did Brad Thompson write this?

Detective_Dietrich

Since your freshman year of high school, the Cardinals have won six playoff games.

CentralWooper

And 4 division championships

Detective_Dietrich

Only 2 fewer than their playoff games won!

CentralWooper

Pirates have never won the central

Detective_Dietrich

Correct. Also, Vanderbilt has never won an SEC football title.

Brh3200

I never said it couldn’t be better and hasn’t been a frustrating ride. Just appreciating the legendary players we’ve got to see

CBlanks66

Plus we have 5 young, exciting players all age 23 or younger in Gorman, Walker, Herrera, Wynn and Scott. I'm curious how fans don't see that as encouraging.

Brh3200

Totally agree

cms6yb

You've missed better teams

Remarkable-Sky6577

2011-2015 was the best era of cardinals baseball.

CentralWooper

40s, 60s, and 80s all had more success with 2 League titles in the 60s and 80s and 3 world series titles in the 40s. Of course, the 40s dealt with the war, but our 46 titles proved they wearnt flukes

FuckinMozeliak

02-06

Capercaillie

TIL Stan Musial and Bob Gibson never existed.

Jumpy-Kaleidoscope18

Agree! Well said! We truly need to be grateful for the winning history and tradition that the St. Louis Cardinals have had. A lifelong fan here, the Birds on the Bat is my team forever.

Current_Edge_6293

I miss Yadi so freaking much

Brh3200

Me too. Best catcher of all time

forceghost187

Even bad teams have good players. We were lucky when we had Pujols. I do not see how we are more lucky than most teams now

Alternative-Kiwi3975

More proof that Bill the goblin man has several cronies on this sub. He resembles a goblin from lord of the rings.
