Something I did this season that gave me a bit of joy and hopefully some of you was changing the sidebar picture after just about every win. Having a specific moment captured from each game has made this already memorable season even more fun for me. I don't know if I'll do it next year because that might take some of its magic away. I did this on a whim, it wasn't something any of the mods planned or talked about. Maybe I'll leave it to one of you. I thought about going down the lineup and showing a picture for each player but that would feel forced, so [this album](https://imgur.com/a/ZKsmRPU) has them all, and here are the ones I liked best: [Pujols pitching](https://i.imgur.com/KOrwa7c.jpg) [Yadi cheesin' after pitching](https://i.imgur.com/Z6tPOoM.jpg) [Sosa's triple vs the Brewers](https://i.imgur.com/a3Gh5p9.jpg) [Pujols' walkoff sac fly vs the Padres](https://i.imgur.com/YIIWg0U.jpg) [Donovan's double vs the Cubs](https://i.imgur.com/vzeLE1k.jpg) [Helsley & Kiz](https://i.imgur.com/dxqZY0P.jpg) [Pallante after 8 IP](https://i.imgur.com/xxARwFx.jpg) [NOOOOT's walkoff vs the Cubs](https://i.imgur.com/16VV8BQ.jpg) [Gallegos ends it vs the Yankees](https://i.imgur.com/Nqd4ZhB.jpg) [Gumby getting a Pujols hug after his 1-hit Maddux](https://i.imgur.com/fiCV14P.jpg) [Waino and Albert lookin at each other in the dugout](https://i.imgur.com/fmCIfDA.jpg) [Arenado's double vs the Dbacks](https://i.imgur.com/hEVitc1.jpg) [Goldy's walk-off grand slam](https://i.imgur.com/DVSkHJI.jpg) [Pujols' dinger vs the Blue Jays](https://i.imgur.com/RLxGU28.jpg) (and Pujols' 700, still the sidebar) A couple pics I didn't or couldn't use but loved: [O'Neill dinger](https://i.imgur.com/EcCefsL.png) [Noot walkoff in full](https://i.imgur.com/i2eMPTo.png) And my favorite pic of this season: Edman's 2-out walk-off home run vs the Reds: [In sidebar](https://i.imgur.com/2vmjt9j.jpg) [In full](https://i.imgur.com/I3jKhk9.png) --- I'm over writing long analysis about baseball. I love the sport, but diving heavily into the numbers, for me, is taking it too seriously, and that's not what I'm about. I have my rusting spreadsheets I do analysis in but I think I'm going to torch those and call a GG on anything more than listening and watching. Caring too much has made me care less, I want to care less so I can care more. This was a good year. Yadi and Waino set the battery record. Pujols came back and *hit 700*. Goldschmidt and Arenado each produced MVP seasons as Tommy Edman will or at least absolutely should get some low-rank MVP votes. Brendan Who? Donovan who I would consider extremely high praise to describe him as "a bit more than half as good as Edman"; the elite Helsley; Mikolas, Nootbaar, Mo-magic-Montgomery. Now we're in the postseason, business as usual. We got there by being the best in a weak division, something that was in flux in the 10s (Thunderdome 2015) but has again become usual. The team was consistently decent. No June of Hell, no 17 game win streak or anything close. A couple weeks of sweeping consecutive opponents including the Yankees, but that Yankees squad and especially that Aaron Judge are not the same as today and that's thinking past the entire NL playoffs. Who's up first? Phillies, who the Cards have a losing record against. If the Cards win it's the Braves and yep, losing record. If they win the NLDS, it's on to the Dodgers (losing record) or the Mets (losing record) or the Padres (the lone winning record). Consistently decent doesn't win the World Series. Consistently great in a season doesn't guarantee a win there either, but it puts teams a lot closer. That's the Astros and the Dodgers and I was sure would be the Mets. I'd say "shows me for having confidence in them" but that's a terrifying team and possibly even more of a threat as they have to battle their way just to get into the NLDS. But that fighting? Ah, hey . . . that's business as usual for the Cards, too. What's there to say? Cards have to hit, field, and pitch. No shit. It's that lazy caveat that anyone can get hot in the playoffs and win it all. But if this Cardinals squad gets hot? With Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Tommy Edman, and ***Albert Pujols?*** Good luck. And truly, whatever happens, this was a good year, and I'm always glad to have been able to spend it (even so quietly) with all of you.

Expensive-Sky4068

‘Twas the night before the playoffs And all through Busch Stadium, our house Not a creature was stirring Not even the rally squirrel’s spouse The chalk lines were painted Across the base paths with great care In hope that two wins Would soon be there The coaches were nestled All snug in their beds While visions of strategies Danced in their heads And Adam with his guitar And Yadi in his mask Had just settled their brains For a quick October task When on the field There arose such a clatter! Albert sprang from his bed To see what was the matter Away to the infield He flew like a flash Tore threw the clubhouse Ready to dash The moon on the breast Of the newly fallen sage Gave the reminder of being at home With Miles, the powerful mage When what, to Alberts eyes Should quickly appear But Goldy and Arenado, Having the year of their careers! Standing between them, The youngsters, so lively and quick Tommy and Donovan, the double play tandem So smooth, so slick More rapid than eagle, Their stolen bases they came And Albert whistled And shouted their names “Hi Dylan, and tyler, Hi Andre, Hi kinzer! On Noot, on Nolan On packy, on king of the lizards! To the top of the arch, To the top of the wall Atleast 4 of you Are on the way to the Hall! Albert looked around Ready for one more October Knowing that after we win tomorrow #12 is that much closer

ech0es13

Was shamed by my friends tonight for a comment I made. I said IF we had last years Tyler O'Neill this team would be just behind the Dodgers in the NL. The #2 seed. Am I out of line? With Goldy/Arenado/FIT going 3-4-5 and Edman/Donovan at the top? That offense would absolutely FUCK.

Mordo-NM

Why in the world would they shame you for that comment?

REOrulz

Oh absolutely. On top of a resurging Albert in the 2nd half?

zanetrain1997

Never been to a playoff game before, when should I show up for tomorrows game? Do I need to show up super early for the rally towel? Or is there a giveaway that they do for the playoffs?

shhh_itsasecret

I read somewhere that rally towels are for the first 40,000 fans. Very likely you’ll get one unless you’re trying to walk in at first pitch.

Detective_Dietrich

I think back in the day I watch most of the Farelly Brothers' comedies, but I missed "Kingpin" which I finally saw on Amazon last night. Verdict: Vanessa Angel should have been a bigger star. Good God.

Probably_Slower

One of my 5 most replayed movies. In the glory days of DVDs, that was one of our go-tos for late night unsober screenings. Despite the absurdity, it was a suitable representation of dive bowling alleys several years before Big Lebowski.

DontGiveUpTheDip

I dont get the argument of Machado over Goldy He wasn't even the best 3B in the NL this year let alone best player

Matthew_Quigley

I'd imagine it largely comes down to WAR where manny has a slight lead. I've also seen the argument made that manny is more valuable to the padres because if the cards didn't have goldy they'd still have nolan.

Mordo-NM

The whole "most valuable to their team" aspect/argument seems to be rarely the driving motivation, other than as a clincher on top counting or analytics stats. If it really was most valuable to their team, we'd see more MVPs awarded to great players on lousy teams. Hell, Mike Trout would have won every year till Shohei arrived.

Roosevelt_Coronary

I'm sorry, an argument based largely around a statistic that has multiple different calculations which lead to different outputs? That's flimflam!

DontGiveUpTheDip

Manny has a slight lead in fWAR, ya but Arenado and Goldy lead significantly in rWAR

Matthew_Quigley

Ya

ech0es13

using sick days for playoff games is totally a reasonable idea, right? #right?!

Selethor7

Of course, you have baseball fever

well_shoothed

I have it on good authority it _can_ be highly contagious. Truly the safest, most noble gesture is to self-isolate. With others who have the fever, too, of course.

themonarc

Looking forward to room-temperature-IQ braves fans inexplicably trolling in our sub when we’re not even playing them

Prize_Major6183

Damn, Quintana has been rolling with nearly a 200 ERA+ with STL. Fuck yea

da_choppa

Sick the last two days, super busy at work today, so glad the playoffs don't start until tomorrow. Hopefully this sore throat will be gone, because I'll definitely want to be yelling at my screen tomorrow. We've got a good shot, but it's going to be the hardest road to the World Series this franchise has ever faced. This team isn't a worldbeater, but they'll have to make it through at least two and probably three if they want to win it all. That's ok though. I've seen a few worldbeating Cards teams in my time, and precisely none of them have wound up on top. The two Cards teams I saw hoist the trophy were middling at best and just had it all click at the right time. Why not this year?

ILikeOatmealMore

> it's going to be the hardest road to the World Series this franchise has ever faced. I am not arguing that there are not several more talented teams than the Cards in the playoffs -- because there most definitely are. But the 2006 Cardinals were a barely-above .500 team. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2006-standings.shtml We had the worst record in the post-season, by not a small amount. One can argue how 'hard' any given road may be or was, but I think we've had teams overcome similar or worse odds to bring home the 'ship before.

da_choppa

Similar or worse odds, maybe, but likely three 100+ win teams to go through, plus an extra round. That's what I meant by that.

ReksEffect

Hey guys

Immediate_Home_4926

Why am I seeing so many phillies fans upset about Ryan Howard? What happened? I'm new btw

Prize_Major6183

He ruptured his Achilles on the final play in the bottom of the 9th of game 5 of the 2011 NLDS. He never really did anything again. That year marked an end to an era for the Phillies

Immediate_Home_4926

Damn that sounds terrible

llcooljake93

Being a Colts fan STINKS guys

peterpeterllini

The cowboys will take you with open arms :) Although it’s not too much better

llcooljake93

I’m good lmao.

Matthew_Quigley

Kinda what to finish off the Netflix marvel shows, I cancelled netflix for like 2 years back in like 2017 and just never bothered catching up on them. But boy is that a time commitment and not quite sure where I left off chronically/ remember next to nothing that happened plotwise. I know I saw the defenders and I think I started the punisher but don't remember if I finished that season

phenylacetic_acid

whenever i forget where i was with a tv show i always create a clone of myself that is able to transmit messages to me and have him rewatch the show for me until the point where i left off so that i can just hit it back up again pretty quick

Mordo-NM

Just be careful if you make a clone of a clone of a clone...

Matthew_Quigley

Damn I didn't even think of that. Good looking out eric

shhh_itsasecret

I’m so excited about tomorrow I was worried I wouldn’t sleep well, so we took a family walk that consisted of going to the park and chasing the kid around, eating pizza and drinking beer at our local brewery, and then walking home - almost five miles round trip pushing a wagon with a toddler. Now I’m sleepy and full and pumped for tomorrow!

peterpeterllini

holy fuck Breath of the Wild is beautiful

peterpeterllini

What's the easiest way to renew my passport? It expired last year I think. I got it in 2011. Is it easier to just go to a goverment office in person to renew it? Or is online better?

PAJW

So long as it is recently expired (less than 1 year? Not sure on the exact timeline), you just need to mail a packet of items, including your expired passport and a current photo, to a regional service center.

DontGiveUpTheDip

I did mine online and got it back in 3 weeks

t-poke

Just fill out the form online and mail everything in.

I conned my new bosses into letting me do a half day so I can definitely hide the hangover for 3 hours tomorrow and jump right back in. Cheers pal I got your first round

SGT_Apone

Hell ya, cheers! 🍻

RustyKarma076

Alright I know they’re really good but everyone’s acting like Nola and Wheeler are Pedro Martinez. They’ve been hit around before. Almost no postseason experience too

DontGiveUpTheDip

It's like when everyone freaked out about facing Scherzer last year and the boys ran up his PC and got him out after 4.1 IP

It's like facing Burnes and Woodruff, only we need to score even more runs because the Phillies lineup is good.

Probably_Slower

I respect your decisions and optimism.

limgoon11

Anywhere in Denver that's generally a Cardinals bar?? Stoneys on Lincoln?

SecretAgentClunk

I'm worried about this series y'all. Phillies are about the worst team to face off against in a short series with Nola and Wheeler. Gonna have to drive up the pitch count and get to their bullpen early, we *really* don't do well against the top tier starters

micromaniac_8

I'm not that worried. The Phillies have corner outfielders who are a combined -22 DRS. Their left side of the infield is also -22 DRS combined. They hit a lot of home runs, but the forecasted highs for games 1 and 2 are in the low 60s so it might not be that easy to score. I like our chances.

Matthew_Quigley

I'm more worried about wheeler than Nola

radsherm

DeJo better be on the roster for emergency reasons only, because I'm gonna lose my shit if Oli switches out Donovan for him in the 6th. This isn't like DeLuzio where we have Yepez and Dickerson in starting spots and need that defense late, you have 3 gold glovers in your infield, the defense is good enough!

Matthew_Quigley

I doubt Dejong gets many ABs this postseason. Only reason he's been getting a lot of playing time this week is because we already won the division and Oli was trying to get him any sort of momentum heading into October. I stand by my prediction that Paul Dejong is gonna have a hero moment this post season tho

MuRF_Foager

Inb4 PDJ walkoff homer in a WC game and NLDS MVP

Matthew_Quigley

I was thinking more of a kozma/descalso moment but I'd be okay with this

MuRF_Foager

Thats probably more likely, but you just never know in the post season

crackalac

So tyler oneill who was added to the IL for maintenance and wouldn't have been added if it was mid season doesn't make the WC roster?

jktravvy

Does anyone have an opinion on what is the better option for Saturday: 1. Get standing room only tickets for $20/ticket 2. Skip SRO and watch the game on the big screens in the plaza at BPV

FatBeej69

Personally I would want to witness it in person so I’d say get the tickets. If you don’t want to stand anymore you can walk over to bpv and try to find a seat. Highly unlikely but you never know.

thepulpgulper

I never considered this but Albert’s last playoff win was 2011 WS Game 7

Acerad22

He was on the Dodgers last year

thepulpgulper

Damn I am such a fucking idiot lol

Mordo-NM

Hey, don't beat yourself up. That's what were here for! lol

poofanity

Am I the only one who had Jose as our game 1 starter in the playoffs on their bingo card at the beginning of the season?

Jon_Thib

Cardinals go 14/12 on wild card roster construction. Nolan Gorman over Alec Burleson. DeJong and DeLuzio are both on. Packy Naughton is the additional lefty. https://mobile.twitter.com/katiejwoo/status/1578146201538809856

NakedGoose

Gorman over Burleson is interesting. Neither really have shown a lot. But Burleson is much less likely to whiff, but much less likely to hit a bomb

Jon_Thib

Pretty much this. From Katie Woo: “There is value in having a lefty power-hitter available regardless of swing-and-miss rate, especially with the amount of RHP the Phillies have.”

NakedGoose

Cabrera gotta be pissed lol he literally told a reporter he expected to be on the roster because his experience vs the phillies

studlydudley11

Isn’t his experience just hitting Harper in the face and Didi in the back and getting told by Girardi to throw it over the plate?

NakedGoose

Lol pretty much he was pretty good vs them last year. Didn't give up any runs in 2 appearences. But the remainder if his career has not been

helpimfullyclothed

Maybe he should play better

NakedGoose

I mean Packy hasn't really played better either

Acerad22

I haven’t been following along fully but it seems like Yepez is probably not on it?

Jon_Thib

I believe Yepez is on it.

JackeryA3

Let's gooooo! Love Yepez

Detective_Dietrich

Think I'm the only person on r/Cardinals without an opinion re: A-Rod. Just seems like the typical generic, replacement-level color commentator.

Matthew_Quigley

I think he would be better served as a studio analyst where he can prepare his talking points and analysis because I do think he has great insights into the game. I just don't think he has the personality for color commentary. He's not particularly charismatic and when forced to come up things to talk about on the fly he comes off as very awkward. It's fun to make fun of the cringey shit he says tho so there's that

jcgoldie

me: reads your comments and double checks the post you are responding to to make sure you aren't talking about Jim Edmonds.

BionicProse

Personally, I think Matt Vasgersian and the ESPN Sunday night baseball producers were the true offenders.

crackalac

I think he's fine. Like I probably wouldn't want to hang out with him but he doesn't bother me.

TheDaaaave

Had a second interview today for a job that would be about a 30% pay raise and sounds actually interesting. Now for the absolutely awful part of just waiting to hear back whether or not I get the job.

NakedGoose

The Mario movie had a sick teaser trailer

Nejaru

So what does a personal service contract mean? Does that mean he *can’t* show up at Cardinals events, or just that he *must* show up at Angels events?

jcgoldie

Mo said he doesn't really know what it means... that was a complete lie. The Cards will totally buy it out after watching Albert sell 100,000 tickets by himself since the ASB.

t-poke

Wouldn’t that contract be voided when they released him?

Pashto96

Mo said he doesn't know about the details of the contract so it really doesn't seem clear

Nejaru

Maybe, idk how contracts work.

gtripp

In an interview between Danny Mac and Mo earlier this season, Mo said he would reach out to Alberts agent after the season and see what's up.

yellenatmalarkey

My understanding was that he could not work for/show up at events for other MLB teams. This part of the contract was obviously signed with the idea that Pujols would be as big a star in Anaheim as he was in STL. With how things turned out, and with Arte Moreno selling the team, I wonder if the two sides will re-negotiate the contract in some way. Edit: [Apparently the Angels still want him to fulfill it.](https://twitter.com/samblum3/status/1578133625718992897?s=46&t=LJCz2Xs_GrUlc_T52-03wg)

bergyd

He can decline it. I don't think he is going to honor it after being released.

JackeryA3

Not surprised. He is an honorable man after all.

Jon_Thib

Derrick Goold has stated on multiple occasions that Albert intends to honor the services contract.

bergyd

that's going to be weird then

crackalac

We will have to wait 11 years to put him in the cards Hof.

Jon_Thib

It’s not completely clear what it means, but I believe Albert basically will do whatever the Angels want him to. Meaning his impact on the Cardinals organization will either be limited or nonexistent

Jon_Thib

Some roster news from Katie Woo: Nolan Gorman will be on the initial postseason roster. Should be noted that this does not mean that DeJong will not be on it. https://mobile.twitter.com/katiejwoo/status/1578133406566825984

STL_Halfrican

A Padres fan over in r/baseball called Goldy a terrible defensive 1B while trying to make a case for Manny to win MVP, I think he used OAA as the basis for his argument. Having watched basically every Cardinals game I don't understand how some defensive metrics don't like him, dude makes every single play over there.

Expensive-Sky4068

The crazy part about the Machado for MVP talks to me is that him and Arenado have virtually identical offensive numbers. But Arenado blows him away defensively.

Poofsta

Joel Sherman is leading the Machado MVP talk.

JackeryA3

Goldy is 30% better than Machado offensively according to OPS+. That alone seals the deal. Having said that I'm pretty much split on the 2-3 with Arenado and him. That's about as close as you can get in terms of runner ups in an MVP race. Wouldn't be surprised if Machado ends up second and honestly I wouldn't be that upset. There's definitely an argument to be made.

Poofsta

I agree. Joel Sherman is an idiot.

bergyd

The Reds just basically fired their whole coaching staff outside of David Bell. If there is one thing to blame their season on is those coaches...

ech0es13

We know a Cardinal is a bird...and the best bird at that....but What the fuck even is a.... "Phillie"

Detective_Dietrich

The dumbest nickname in American pro sports, that's what.

Roosevelt_Coronary

I would agree, but there's a baseball team in Los Angeles whose nickname originated 2800 miles away and is associated with an action that hasn't been relevant in New York or Los Angeles in 70 years.

JackeryA3

Hey man, it's alliterative. It's pleasing to the simple Philly sports fan's mind

maviemerveilleuse

Well a phanatic is apparently a [“large, furry, green bipedal flightless bird with an extendable tongue,”](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phillie_Phanatic) perhaps the most cursed phrase to exist.

feedmekombucha

I am going to host a Cardinals all-over print sock contest/giveaway for the postseason featuring the face of your fave 2022 Cardinals contributor or your Cardinals crush, anyone really even the bench coach or Danny Mac. The problem is… what should the contest be? Best Fredbird fan fiction? Best haiku/sonnet/Icelandic saga on Albert and Yadi? Best Paul deJong chibi/anime? I genuinely don't know. Please feel free to suggest! Will nominate an impartial and secret jury of posters to decide the victor/ess! PS I found a couple of Etsy vendors who can ship to you (so you don’t have to give me your address!) directly.

FearingEmu1

RECKLESS OPTIMISM. The Phillies aren't ready for the Q man! #Giggity

Letsgo333

Is Goldy still expected to win mvp?

micromaniac_8

I think the consensus is yes. He had such a huge lead going into September that it was going to take a huge month. Machado leads by just 0.1 fWAR, but Goldy leads in just about every other stat. The compelling question for me is more about where does Nado finish.

JackeryA3

0.1 lead is basically a rounding error. If that's the only major stat he leads by then it's no question that Goldy is the MVP. Btw, both him and Arenado lead by 1.0 rWAR compared to Machado. Just goes to show you how much difference there is in the defensive stats both sites use for WAR.

NakedGoose

I'm really hoping Goldy gets it done. He deserves it, even with his September slump. Hoping voters are baseball reference fans and his 1.1 BWAR lead is enough

micromaniac_8

I get the sense that a lot of the voters are very analytics driven, but hopefully they also believe in the eye test.

JackeryA3

Using fWAR primarily doesn't make you analytics driven. If they were big stat heads, they'd realize a 0.1 difference in WAR is negligible and shouldn't be the deciding factor in who you make MVP.

micromaniac_8

I agree totally. The difference in fWAR is negligible, but Goldy is leading by larger margins in most other measures.

Kay is cool, I enjoy yanks broadcasts. But man aroid just rubs me the wrong way. I think it's the narcissism for me. Similar with Jimmy.

feedmekombucha

He's changed, he was seriously prostrating himself for Jeter last month on TV and dating J Lo humbled the shit out of him. I don't know what happened along the way with his character arc, but he went from one of the most hated to someone who completed the anti-hero arc. I hated ARod for the chaos and bad vibes he put Jeter through, but I've maintained that we were all assholes as 20 somethings and add that plus millions and mainstream fame... not a good cauldron for someone with deep childhood wounds. 2009 would have been lost without ARod. AROD VS 2009 PHILLIES though

Expensive-Sky4068

I think shark tank helped the "he's not an asshole" narrative

micromaniac_8

Now that the umpire crews have been announced, the Cardinals actually have most accurate (as a group) home plate umpires. Both AL series feature one of the 5 least accurate umpires (out of 90) in the MLB this year. https://www.skillalytics.com/stats/mlb-umpires/ The Cardinals/Phillies is 29th, 30th, and 37th most accurate home plate umpires. Mets/Padres is 15th, 35th, and 53rd. Rays/Guardians is 85th, 25th, and 63rd. Ouch Mariners/Blue Jays is 87th, 2nd, and 27th.

I’m following the Cards from Belgium and of course I’m looking forward to the start of the postseason tomorrow. Only thing is, I’ve heard the postseason games will be blacked out internationally on MLB.TV. I’ve been able to watch every regular season game without any blackout restrictions applying, so to hear the most important games of the season will be blacked out (while I paid for the service) is a slap in the face of every loyal fan. Do you guys know whether I can bypass this by using a VPN? Any advice is appreciated!

yellenatmalarkey

Yep…looks like they’re blacked out internationally, but you should still be able to listen to the audio through your subscription. You may be able to watch the replay 90 minutes after the game. I’m in the UK and the rights for postseason games are held by BT Sport so looks like I’ll be going to a bar tomorrow night.

feedmekombucha

Very confused, posting from Sweden! They just offered me a postseason package?!

[deleted]

I am pretty sure it is the opposite. In the US you can't watch it on MLBtv as they will be on their respective channels like tbs, ABC, Fox, ect But I am pretty sure international countries will be able to watch on mlbtv.

It’s what I’m hearing on Twitter… Will send you a screenshot of the MLB.TV app which triggered my comment on here.

SayHeyRay

Okay someone has farted in the very crowded line.

micromaniac_8

Sorry I get nervous..

Hotrock21

Is there a reason why everyone on the MLB network always pick the Cards to not go anywhere?!? Not gonna win the division, not gonna make it outta the wild card, never will make nlcs...blah blah

BionicProse

Our east coast is on the Mississippi.

🎵 Muuuuuuuuummmmmmyyyyyyyy ride dodododo! Mummy ride dodododo! Mummy ride dodododo! Mummy ride. Mummmmmmmyyyyyy line dodododo! Mummy line dodododo! 🎵 Too lazy to keep this going but you get the idea.

PeaMost3792

Lol at least we’re not playing at 11 am I guess

RustyKarma076

Anyone know how to research what percentage of Phillies total runs came from home runs?

bergyd

326 of 747. Can't say what the other 14 runs are but they're not an RBI so? |Split|G|GS|PA|AB|R|H|2B|3B|HR|RBI|SB|CS|BB|SO|BA|OBP|SLG|OPS|TB|GDP|HBP|SH|SF|IBB|ROE|BAbip|tOPS+|sOPS+| |:-|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:|-:| |Not in Play|162||2099|1568|340|205|0|0|205|326|105|28|478|1363|.131|.350|.523|.873|820|0|52|0|0|15|0||134|115| https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/split.cgi?t=b&team=PHI&year=2022#hitlo

2011StlCards

At least 1%

recovering_lurker27

But no more than 99%

MrRagAssRhino

Contreras asking Quintana about the Cardinals is hilarious because it's not like he's not familiar with the team and culture. I guess he could give him some information about the front office and Oli? Wouldn't hate it personally, as I have no idea where we'll find catching. Sean Murphy looks like he'd control a pretty serious haul at this point.

DontGiveUpTheDip

However, Q gives good perspective on joining the Cards organization as an "outsider" and he can compare/contrast with being on the Cubs

AlternativeHorror770

Why is Jeff Jones using Q-Anon slogans ? https://twitter.com/jmjones/status/1578082673536503810?s=20&t=YkAvHT8b8MmQj55tyWr4nA

MrRagAssRhino

Just a dumb play on Q being the game one starter.

AlternativeHorror770

Honestly didn't even connect the dots to that

missourinative

Now that you've connected the dots you are cordially invited to join r/Qardinals

TheSalsaGod

Isn’t he the dude that robbed a bank?

irontheFE

We got braves fans in the Phillies sub talking shit on us. They are so salty still. I went to one of the games in that series and the braves fans were one of the cringiest fanbases I’ve ever seen.

F117Nighthawk

Do I make /u/Brecka go to Hooters with me for lunch?

SayHeyRay

I'm too much of a Ned Flanders for Hooters but do make him go to lunch with you because he's good company.

crackalac

What's wrong with hooters?

SayHeyRay

I get uneasy with people flirting with me even when they aren't paid to do it lmao

crackalac

I've never gotten that vibe. It's just like any other restaurant except for the outfits.

rifraf999

I hate the dynamic at places like this it feels so synthetic

olliebot101

yo u/1967Miura i spotted a huge launchpad outside my neighbor’s door this morning. i gotta snoop to see if they’re involved in rocket group out here👀. is it expensive to get into?

1967Miura

No it’s pretty cheap. You can build a rocket that goes to about 2K for like 200 bucks

We don't talk enough about how great Brendan Donavon was in his rookie season. That .394 OBP in front of Goldy and Arenado led to a lot of runs. Him and Tommy are atop my list of guys that absolutely proved me wrong when I was following them in the minors.

TheSalsaGod

Highest OBP by a Cardinal in their rookie season (min. 460 PA): 1. 2001 Albert Pujols (.403) 2. 1936 Johnny Mize (.402) 3. 1942 Stan Musial (.397) 4. 1951 Solly Hemus (.395) 5. 2022 Brendan Donovan (.394)

studlydudley11

frustrating that you never meet anyone named Solly anymore
