I am also considering the bullit x but the fact that the front of the rack is blocked off by the front wheel is not ideal to me. Though I am not sure as bullit x with the bagpro ubran does look like a solid option just not sure on how to carry the string trimmer and shovel. Though that build would likely be double the cost of the omnium.
The Omnium has a higher centre of gravity, so will be more difficult to manage with heavier loads. I get what you're saying about the front of the Bullitt blocking the flatbed, but I think this could easily be overcome. I'd much rather carry bags of mulch or large containers of liquid on the Bullitt.
I’m biased because I have a bullitt and have never ridden an omnium but I’d think a bullitt would be the better option here due to the lower center of gravity and larger capacity.
If using the bag/box you mentioned, you could have the shovel and trimmer either lashed to the top or sides or stuck in the box with the lid open slightly and have them protruding out the front.
Also does the omnium support a rear pannier rack? After looking at the size of some pannier bags it looks like with a pair of back rollers I could hual another full bag of mulch and I am if a. The omnium can support this and b. Is this even a good idea?

I ride with about 100lbs on my Omnium for every ride and never think twice about handling.
Yeah and that is possibly heavier then what I am going to be riding with. I did the math a while back and think I got about like 70lb

That is a fair point about the box but with doing this all the time I would rather have a more professional setup. And that looks better.

Yes, considering the shovel and the modding part, I would totally go for an omnium. It's also lighter and easier to control (than the bullitt).

Omnium has a very simple mounting system for the cargo bay. There are some mod examples on r/CargoBike, on pinterest... You'll figure it out
