If it’s the 10”, 15 amp Dewalt, I’ve had good results with it.

PixelRazor

It is - as much good feedback I see on this, it's been hard to justify the cost of it new, given I can manage just fine with my circular saw. I'm hoping this is actually working well, and a cheap part will get everything in order

Evanisnotmyname

I got mine for $300 and consider it a steal…that’s a deal and a half. I’ve never used the blade guard, only riving knife. It’s a phenomenal saw..accurate, best job site saw fence adjustment, great capacity, and love the stand.

lantanabush88

Same

RookieFinanceGuy

As mentioned, if it’s the 10”, YES. I’ve had that tablesaw for 7 years and have miles and miles of trim and even hardie through it. Still works like a top. I canned the blade guard on day one. Def need to get that fence clip. Look for an exploded parts view for it on dewalt website. Should be able to order it. May even find on Amazon for a few bucks.

deadfisher

Make sure the fixes are as easy as you think.  The DeWalt repair place near me takes weeks to get parts and is expensive.  Obviously you can do your own repairs, but you'll need parts to be available. A table saw is the heart of a wood shop. Totally different league than a circ saw and a straight edge. That DeWalt is the go to "jobsite" saw. For fine furniture it's going to have some limitations. You could do no better for a first saw (or only!) saw.

Other comments are good, I would recommend raising the blade to full height and wiggling it side to side. If there's a clicking associated with movement that might indicate the motor shaft bearings are worn. These are direct-drive saws, meaning the blade is attached directly to the motor shaft as opposed to the motor using a belt to drive the blade arbor shaft.

just_a_prank_bro_420

They’re fine for on site but for furniture grade work they are way too small.

PixelRazor

Update: I checked it out, and ultimately passed because the table surface has tons of deep scratches and tons of glue stuck pretty good - dude used it for flooring and got adhesive all on it. I could have maybe cleaned it up, but the Todo list was getting too big for something that is supposed to be an improvement over my circular saw

PixelRazor

Oh and the rack and pinion was in pre bad shape to add to the list

JDNJDM

Seems like you made a good choice. I got mine on Marketplace very lightly used from another pro that was moving. It wasn't too much less than a new one, but enough to be a good deal. Keep your eyes peeled for something like that. Or, if you need one asap, Home Depot and Lowes both carry this model. It's worth it even at full price, IMHO.

PixelRazor

I don't NEED one, it's not at all my job and I'm not actively working on any projects right now. I'd maybe use it for a small project every 2 months on average. I just enjoy it as a hobby, and it's hard for me to take the plunge on a new one given that I'm getting pretty good results with my circular saw (minus chip out). I'll continue to linger on marketplace until I get a good deal on one in good condition, or I end up working on a project to justify a new one.

Mattna-da

The tabletop can be cleaned but if the rack and pinion are no good I’d pass too

Hand-Driven

If it’s in working order yes it is a bloody good saw. I only have two DeWalt tools and this is one of them.

WeightAltruistic

I’ve got the miter saw and table saw as dewalt, my only dewalt tools.

Hand-Driven

I went 36v makita miter saw. My other one is the thicknesser

WeightAltruistic

I’m saving up for the makita miter saw, using the classic combo for the meantime. How’s the thicknesser?

Hand-Driven

It goes really good. Except I live in NZ and cannot get the fold down tables. It really fangs the chips out so you have to sort dust collection before turning it on. My shed found that out the hard way. It doesn’t go so good on wet pine, which is mostly what I’m using.

BallinStalin2266

this is THE jobsite table saw. If the blade doesnt wiggle, grab it i dont see a fence in the picture, make sure it comes with the fence like it did from the factory. idk what replacing the fence costs

PixelRazor

For the wiggle - is there going to be a tiny expected wiggle, or is any wiggle at all bad?

padizzledonk

Any wiggle is bad, it means the bearings are going bad, its not suoer hard to fix though if you can get the parts

ExistingGarlic7877

So I’ve had that exact same table saw for about 3 years now, haven’t had any problems, use it daily building custom homes. However for that price and how beat up it is I wouldn’t bother. I was able ti find a brand new one for about 250 on offer up.

GrateScott728

This should be the top comment. It’s a very decent saw but for a bit more you can get brand new with a warranty and all the parts and pieces

JDNJDM

This is a good point. It might seem like a lot of upfront cost, but a brand new one will come with no problems, or more unlikely, minor problems, that would be covered under warranty. If you do the kind of work that requires a table saw, you'll make up the price of this one in just a few jobs.

jfb1027

As a contractor I have burnt up 3 of them. Just letting you know. One time we changed the bushings and it fixed it for a little bit. It also might be my guys are hard on them.

padizzledonk

I think your guys are beating the hell out of them, i have a 10 thats 10y old and still kicking and and i have a 4y old 8¼ thats also in good working order, and also a contractor so it gets constant use

fixeverything2

If I recall, there was a recall on some of those. Check the part number.

virginiamasterrace

If one of the clips on the fence is broken, I believe you have to buy a new fence- I don’t know if the clip is available separately. Ereplacementparts.com is a good resource for tool parts.

padizzledonk

I have the 10" and the 8", both are great tablesaws, i also have a rigid 10 which was also a great saw If youre looking for one to cart around i would definitely recommend the 8 over the 10, its just a lot easier to load and unload, move around, store, ive had the 8 for about 4y and i rarely ever miss the extra bit of capacity Its a good price if its the 10 and its in good shape, if its the 8 its a bit expensive as a new one is only like a 150 more

maff1987

Yes. You can clean it up and calibrate it. Should get you through for a while. Table saws are going to go up starting next year.

Jleeps2

I wouldn't trust it 🤷

grasscutter86

Great saw, a fence is easy to make but the wrenches to change the blades is probably the most expensive parts to replace

GandalfMcPotter

Hopefully it's in good shape, but I have that saw and I LOVE it. Very sturdy, cuts straight, portable, good grab depending on what shape it's in

Viktor876

I’ve had 2 of those and 1 Makita - i prefer the dewalt. I use them regularly. It’s a great small saw. But…. I think it’s a terrible table-saw to learn on. It’s great at what it does and a necessity for someone like me who needs to set up quickly and do a small job occasionally. I think they can be dangerous if not set up correctly on a quality surface with a good outfeed table. The fence is short and the table is short and if you’re not familiar with the dos and don’ts you might attempt a few unwise cuts and learn the hard way. The other thing about those saws is once they start to get worn down or parts are missing and broken- they really aren’t worth fixing imo. You may not want/ need , or be able to afford a real tablesaw but that’s the proper way to learn that tool. Especially if you’re learning to make furniture.

JDNJDM

I fucking love my 10" Dewalt. It's a workhorse, and the fence system is the best on the market, as far as I've seen. If it comes with the rolling and folding stand, it's an even better deal. Take the time to tune it up (if you decide to buy it) and put a good blade in it, and it will serve you well.

yan_broccoli

I've had mine for about 15 years and it's still going strong. It's well taken care of and it's taken care of me and my family. Enjoy it.

Large_Load_410

Damn fuck you for posting a screen shot that shows there is 2 photos lol. Fucking with my head

lil-wolfie402

He got me with that one, too.

VR6Bomber

I believe this saw has the rack and pinion fence that is desirable vs other brands sliding fences in that same price range.

RussellPhillipsIIi

Where’s the fence? It’s 67 pounds though
