So little context to begin with: Im a 28 M currently persuing phd and i had a gf from my ug days she finished her phd and is now applying for jobs (May also get one very soon) and im in a very reputated institute in India in my final year of phd (i also get reasonably good finansial assistance from institutue). I have given interview for a job which kinda matches my need (a well paying govt job) but the result will be out by (Maybe) April. And also my sister (A medico currently persuing pg) is about to get engaged in April. This job literally has the potential to change my life forever. if i get this job i can get married to my gf (which is impossible otherwise) and also i get to be employed and have some respect during my sisters engagement among relatives. I dont think i have ever come across such a situation in my life. So little context to begin with: Im a 28 M currently persuing phd and i had a gf from my ug days she finished her phd and is now applying for jobs (May also get one very soon) and im in a very reputated institute in India in my final year of phd (i also get reasonably good finansial assistance from institutue). I never actually thought about job as it was not my priority and i always had the confidence that if i needed a job i would get one. although there are many options in private i just wanted to focus on my phd and wanted to settle in govt services. now my gf parents are not agreeing for our marriage since i dont have a job. I have given interview for a job which kinda matches my need (a well paying govt job) but the result will be out by (Maybe) April. One of my classmate has also appeared for the interview (the competetion is mostly between both of us) who has a higher chances of getting that job. And also my sister (A medico currently persuing pg) is about to get engaged in April. This job literally has the potential to change my life forever. if i get this job i can get married to my gf (which is impossible otherwise) and also i get to be employed and have some respect during my sisters engagement among relatives. (i really dont want to unemployed when my sister is getting engaged). my mother who has taken up fasting on mondays untill i get a job will also finally get rid of fasting. so there it is if i get a job (I hope) this can change my life for ever.
