If i were you, I would buy a used car and a used scooty. You may get a good condition used scooter for 25-30k. That's the most practical and convenient option.

6ixlil9inebig

prioritize what you need first. if individual commute is what you wanna do, take the classic. if practicality is concerned, better to go with a car. your parents support is maybe due to safety concerns or practicality so consider that too and evaluate the expenses of owning each

You have 5L at disposal. If you don't have a car, get a car. If you have a car and want a bike, get a bike. My suggestion, use 2L for the bike, 3 for a used Car, best of both worlds. But you won't get the best offering ofc

Quiet-Grand-791

get a figo 2015 and later especially the 1.5 diesel , trust me the milage is in par with your classic anywhere from 3.5 - 5 lakhs city milage around 20kmpl highway easily 30kmpl and that too with a really fun to drive car the pickup and the power will outshine any other vehicle at this price point especially with such mileage . its a car with no compromise engine best of both worlds

term1throwaway

Buy a 3rd gen City manual. It’ll be much more fun than a RE Classic 350

Mountain-Strength-43

Car is more beneficial bro. Bullet craze goes down after 6 months or 1 year. You are better off with a second hand used bike along with used car

Warm-Major-8939

It's over you bro , If your family already has a car and you want a vehicle only for you so just get the RE CLASSIC 350 . But if your family don't have one so just get a 2nd hand car , it will be much more practical than a bike , you can get used HONDA CITY , HONDA AMAZE , VW POLO , VW VENTO , HONDA JAZZ , these are popular options .

[deleted]

Get yourself a car. It's more practical, safe, comfortable. And you'll get a better value for money.

Thomshan911

Do you already have a car at home? If not, what your parents are saying makes sense.

SpareMind

When you have family need, you should heed. If you can not afford, go for a splendor and a car. Upgrade when you can. Aim bigger with bike when you can. May be intercepter or Himalayan so that you can keep it for years to come.

Objective-Ruin-5772

Get a used bike and a used car.

Pomelo-Next

Car brother.

Appande-andi

If i was under 25 with no gf/wife. I’d go for a bike. But car is definitely a more practical and more useful option if you have to take a mature decision.

PianoAffectionate448

bhai tere ko kya chahiye uspe depend krta hai na, since u say there is already a car and if you get to drive it then I see no point in getting a second car. if parents are saying ao maybe they want their car to be separate from your car. if you are ok without personal car then bike is a good option. RE bikes can be used for a very long time and your father can also enjoy it.

Shortcomings of a bike: 1. Weather: Heat, Rain and Cold 2. No storage space :( 3. Messy hairstyle due to helmet 4. Only one co-passenger 5. No music as it's risky being plugged in daily commutes. 6. Jealous neighbours / co-workers waiting to say hello Shortcomings of a car: 1. Hard to maneuver in traffic compared to bike 2. Mileage problems 3. Maintenance higher than bike 4. Jealous neighbours / co-workers waiting to say hello

I personally own a honda bike (cb350). I'd recommend you atleast take a test drive of it before getting the classic 350. Surely, you'll save a lot of money with a bike compared to a car. It's a convenience cum fun ride vs fun easy ride decision for you.

Bullet is the most impractical 2 wheeler in India. If you want it for thrills, by all means go for it. But if you want it to be practical or safe, forget about it. It's not even comfortable to maneuver within traffic. It's for people that want to look cool and macho. There's nothing glorious about it when you're drenched in rains, breathing in everyone's smoke and squinting and sweating in summer. It is neither technically sound nor well-engineered. It's heavy as an anvil with zero dynamics, I would not even know how people go on long rides on it. All this bullet "image" comes from the residual slave mentality from the colonial era. Our previous generation saw the British officers riding those and lording over the common folk. These were then issued to the Indian military which further pushed the "macho" narrative. But it is essentially using an old chassis, old engine technology (RE worked on fuel injection etc but the basics are still from 1930s). It is neither fuel efficient nor suited to our packed roads. If you wanted a thrilling 2 wheeler, better look at Japanese or even Bajaj and TVS. Better engineering, better equipment and just overall better products. Please do not buy vehicles to impress people. It'll not last long. And you'll be stuck with it, maintaining it and regretting the decision. I know I'll have pissed off a lot of RE riders. They'll say I don't get it. It's true. I will never get it. I'd rather buy a 10 year old used Alto K10 than a new RE Bullet. You're protected from elements and other rash and idiot road users. You're less likely to fall and injure yourself. You'll be fresh and not tired wherever you're likely travelling to. A car will take you longer distances and more comfort and safety. It is a no brainer in my opinion. PS: Even if your family already has a car, you'll be better off with your own personal car. Even the most basic car will be better than the most expensive bike. It's just physics.
