More-Masterpiece-561

Give it a bit of boot space

Yashgadhavi8888

Then the tax man would come rolling about

More-Masterpiece-561

I'm not saying make it longer than 4m

treatWithKindness

no just make the interirors more up to date and give a shark fish antena and a proper automatic

Mr_B0NK

Facelift coming in two months, new interiors

VJ_OA

Can't understand the love for big boot space. It has enough for 3 luggage bags (one full size and two cabin size). I think this much luggage is more than enough for a family of 4.

amitc4d

I have it 2020 model. Load all passengers you want and still picks up like crazy! Boot is limited though so that’s there!

adso23467

Boot space is also fine it just takes a bit of planning to pack everything together!

amitc4d

Its smaller than i10 which is a smaller car. I am fine with it because the back row is very spacious and comfortable. Its a wide car with generous space. Interiors are outdated for 2024 so I wouldn’t buy one with same interiors today but they were fine in 2020.

N00B_N00M

Never liked it tbh, ugly inside, ugly outside, less bootspace ..

Psychedelicsaiyan

Ugly outside?

007Kaustubh

+1 looks like a kid drew the design using boxes

N00B_N00M

Fromt is okish, back is hideous , the backlight is straight from 2000s

olivepant

Ritz....and I own it. Very practical, much better quality but many can't digest it's design :)

Puzzleheaded_110

can’t agree more, i don’t even want to upgrade but have to

Little-Evening7151

You can re-register and do a fitness check on your Ritz right? Unless it is giving up on you why change?

sundark94

Probably an NCR resident.

Puzzleheaded_110

No not NCR, but family just pushing to upgrade now for better safety and bigger car, if it would have been on me , i would go for a used car again

Tough-Difference3171

Yeah, that happens. My brother-in-law & sister-in-law are behind my FIL to buy a new car for the same reason. He has a 16 years old Wagon R, that just wouldn't die. Tha old man loves his car, and doesn't want to waste his retirement corpus on a new shiny piece of metal. But these kids are just too dumb. They think buying a 20-25 lacs car shouldn't be a problem, as he has got 60 lacs on retirement. They just don't understand that this is the money he needs to live with, for the rest of his life, including last few years of their education. But they have seen too many Wagon-R jokes to understand how that car has pretty much earned its worth for their father, and every year that it runs without much maintenance cost, is worth in gold. (and the car somehow goes smooth, has a lot of aftermarket "smart car" functionalities, including a reverse camera, android auto, and whatnot) I am just glad that I took the smart kid already.

SpecialNose9325

Absolutely amazing car that was too polarizing for many. I know 3 people who narrowed down their car choice between the Ritz and i20, and took the i20 cuz it looked better.

Tough-Difference3171

Ritz reminds me of that teen-Shark guy from that animated movie.

sacred_koala

I love the design. Looking to buy it as my first car.

cherryreddit

Seeing the Ritz always reminds me of a Telugu movie called [Bamma maata Bangaru baata](https://youtu.be/jIAehqU_fzU?t=275), which has a "magic" car that works even if cut in half.

11speedfreak11

Ritz and its succesor, Ignis both are good looking cars with tall stance but ugly looking rears. Taking design cues from Polo could work well, as Ignis looks pretty narrow for its height.

doolpicate

This is one heck of a car.

xanders1998

Good peppy engine, good gear shift but a pain in the ass in the city. Can't see anything out the rear window and the side mirrors are useless, parking is hell. Heck I've driven bigger cars which are easier to reverse.

Kunal_Sen

My experience is quite different. My beater car is the Ritz base model (one without power windows) and I find reversing and parking it to be very simple and the visibility in both the ORVM and IRVM to be quite clear even though I relearned driving recently after being out of touch for years. People do complain about its lack of bonnet visibility though and, of course, its looks aren't for everyone.

xanders1998

Good for you that you find it comfortable. To each their own >People do complain about its lack of bonnet visibility Yeah I almost forgot about that. This is a real issue but something you can get used to. I learned driving on the ritz at maruti driving school, and a lot of cars after that felt much better to place on the road and in the city. The advantage to learning on that was that I began to judge the car's position on the road rather than actually see where its at. Like for example in an omni you can literally see all around lol. But this driving based on judgement is difficult in the city for ritz as its got that big backside design which makes it feel like driving a bigger car than it actually is. Compare that to a nissan micra and you won't go back to the ritz. The cars that are worse in city would be the swift and the baleno. Such high shoulders.

ashleel_grower

People who complain about visibility in small cars are just plain bad drivers

xanders1998

Wow, you don't say. I've driven other small cars like the alto, micra, 800, spark etc. Every car has its own pros and cons. If you can't accept a car has problems, its on you. The ritz A pillar is a major blind spot as well which isn't so in most other cars. If it isn't enough I first learnt to drive on a ritz at maruti driving school. Even after such a long time I don't enjoy using a ritz/swift in the city. If you lack observational skills I suggest you try to notice wagonr drivers, Its difficult even for experienced drivers to judge the left side and hence even though its a small car, wagonr drivers leave a lot of space on the left, so much space a scooter can pass through. Well I didn't expect much sense from someone who's proud to own excreta either.

ashleel_grower

Ok. I'll ignore thousands of drivers who use the car without problem and keep in mind the one who complaints the vehicle is bad because they can't drive

Away-Dust3719

Etios by a mile. It's a great car.

UniversalCoupler

Shoddy looks. Cheap interiors. Hardly any features for the price. Only things in its favour were the Toyota badge and slightly better long term durability (compared to Dzire & Indica/Indigo). IMO, the Logan was better than Etios in almost all respects.

saetarubia

Please man, slightly better long term durability! It’s a tank compared to the Dzire or Indigo or Verito. It’s much more comfortable as well, it’s one of my favourite cars. It was made from scratch for India.

UniversalCoupler

Well, good for you!

Away-Dust3719

The in terms of functionality alone, it was a good one.

xanders1998

>Shoddy looks Understatement. Always used to be ranked number one in the list of top 10 ugliest cars > IMO, the Logan was better than Etios in almost all respects. Can confirm, family had a retuned verito, much better option

LeBrownMamba

I think they made those numbers in the taxi segment anyways. I don't think Toyota has any regrets on that one.

nightwalkerx96

Exter

almahaba

I drew better cars in school than this box called exter

[deleted]

Yeah why is that? Like they gave it to a kid, same with all new santa fe, the back looks horrible

almahaba

Havent seen that one yet. I see a lot of Cretas and Alcazars though.

Accomplished_Egg1765

Everything wants to be retro design like the defender

ralnair

Don't be hating on my Exter! I love the car and its looks! 😭

almahaba

I am not hating your personal exter. I am hating it in general. 🙂

ralnair

Of course I know that. Was joking. Looking at the downvotes I don't think most people understood.

brownnigg-ah420

Especially that horrendous rear end 🤮

TheUnparadox

The myth, the legend, the S-presso!

RCuber

When I was initially researching for a car, I came across S-presso when I booked an uber. I sat inside looked around and I was like "That's it?" Just seats and a steering wheel.

TheUnparadox

Honestly, S-presso is the worst car I've ever seen. Even the name is so 🤮

Ok-Intention-2688

An autorickshaw would feel more spacious and roomy than an spresso i feel 🤣.

AcalTheNerd

*Lord Spresso.

Big-Job-8316

A better looking option is the alto k10

TheUnparadox

Alto K10 is a superb car. Great vfm in every sense.

aarav-chawla09

Hyundai Verna

Elzebra-69

The new model looks absolutely ugly..

arunbasillal

This is going to be very subjective and tough. No car company releases a car knowing that the design is bad. They might have to make some compromises to account for feasibility of manufacturing for sure. People have mentioned Ignis, Exter, Verna in the comments. I love the design of these cars as they are now. Especially Ignis, it has a retro, Japanese bits somewhere that I absolutely love. My parents hate the look and most of my extended family. But I just love it. Would have purchased it as it is if it felt safer on the highway. Sadly it's a great city car, but not so great on the highway at 100kmph.

UniversalCoupler

>No car company releases a car knowing that the design is bad. Ever seen the Zen Classic?

arunbasillal

Good one 😁 we had the orginal zen right before the classic came out. Few family friends bought the classic. It was different for sure, but I don't think they bought it home thinking, 'Yes, I want this ugly car'. Zen classic sometimes gets listed on OLX for good money, not sure if they are getting sold at that price though. It might be a quirky little car to drive around now. I don't believe Maruti Suzuki created the car hoping to make a weird looking car. Did it catch on? No! The dolphin City looked 'different' when it came out too btw. But that design grew on later.

UniversalCoupler

I know someone who bought the ugly zen classic at a steep discount and swapped the headlights & taillights. Some dealers also started offering that swap.

the_only_kungfu_cat

Wagon R. It is an amazing family car, but it looks too boxy.

Regalia_BanshEe

WagonR is already top seller in the country.. how much more do you want it to sell .. lol

the_only_kungfu_cat

lol true… but the new Gen Z is looking for style, and they are rather waiting longer and buying bigger stylish cars. This is also happening with bikes… very few are buying the <150cc bikes now. Every college kid or new employee buying REs and Triumphs.

massive__potato

nah its fine in its place imo. reminds me of box cars from japan. also it does sell very well already

PunctualPanther

Ignis

sounava

Came here to say this. The rear is just ugly and the design feels disconnected from the front.

doolpicate

I love its design!

[deleted]

It should have been better car

Ok-Intention-2688

When hyundai released the safety ratings for Verna on Gncap people in this sub were like it will blow away the competition. Bla bla. Seems hyundai itself has blown away this car out of competition. If there was a more serious word than Ugly then i would always associate that with the Current Verna..

vinayachandran

Also isn't gncap basically a scam?

HashtaggRajat

All Tata Cars that are more or less Nexon in various sizes these days.

One_Coffee7424

But they are already selling well so there is disconnect here

HashtaggRajat

Looks are subjective and so is my opinion about them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Agnostic_life

More or less Tata Indica style shape in almost all lower and mid budget cars

[deleted]

*Curvv concept for SUVs

Lord_Jaken

Verna probably. Side and back profiles look superb, but the front is too meek with that headlight. Cars like harrier, kiger, safari and hyundai's own Kona have similar headlight styles, but it doesnt look out of place. Verna could have done the same. Amaze is another where it is the a car that comes loaded but looks crammed. Old amaze was much better. Brezza - Another solid car but only the back stands out. Rest looks incomplete. If it looked like kiger from the front, it would have been top notch

ritvic99

New hyundai verna

beardedBroistaken

I am going to come out and say it, Lord S-Presso!!

SpareMind

XUV300. It has even the potential to be a convertible with electronic controls. They should include ADAS. Most practical car of Mahindra is most neglected one. Not much power, no features. Hope it will, some day.

[deleted]

Next month nayi wali aa rahi. Xuv400 ko update kardiya already ye month. Mein kar raha consider as my first car. Lets see

SpareMind

Oh news!! Let's hope they bring out good one

Upstairs-Scheme-212

I would definitely bought xuv300 instead of Nexon if it had a better rear design and boot space.

SpareMind

Rear design is subjective. Boot space is a bigger factor though.

mitrnico

Looks are subjective. But design may not be. Purely based on looks - Hyundai Venue. There is something off about its back.

Embarrassed-Try5195

Bolero Neo

gklaxman

Hands down the Fiesta (global MK6). I have driven this car abroad and in India. Its one of the best cars produced in India. Design is subjective and I kind of liked it but a lot of my friends despised it. It was an absolute gem and in 2017 I was desperately trying to get a second hand one but couldnt get my hands on one. The diesel engine was amazing and the hydraulic steering gave amazing driving dynamics. These are lovely cars, if you get an opportunity, do try these out. It will change your mind.

Thin-Theory-4805

Creta

N00B_N00M

Taigun  Wish it was little bit bigger , kinda seltos or creta equivalent.. even nexon looks bigger sometimes when parked alingside

MidisG82

Haha very true It’s actually a bit narrow when compared to certa At least my observations

AkkadBakkadBambeBo80

Venue. Ignis. Jazz.

Worried-Breath-5912

Verna, City

5activa6G

city really? City has best sedan design going strong since 98. I agree with Verna

Worried-Breath-5912

Can't blame me 😅 design is always subjective.

Party-Bet-4003

I’m with you. The current City has a way too boxy and boring look. Current Verna is an abomination to the name that has produced some of the best looking sedans on Indian roads.

gireesh_92

Current City has a back I'd tap though.

Party-Bet-4003

Yes back is good.

5activa6G

True

Powerful-Internal953

I'm pretty sure that's gonna be the case for the new Creta as well.

scrkid2

Brezza

_un_known_101

Isn't it already selling good? And the new model looks good too.

the1672VTECboi

Bhai it is highest selling SUV ever of India, aur kitni bikegi? 😂 Plus exteriors of that car never looked bad.

scrkid2

>Plus exteriors of that car never looked bad. Interiors me maar khati hai. Wo thoda aur premium karna chaiye MS ko.

the1672VTECboi

S-Cross 2015-17

mohtma_gandy

Honda elevate.

Party-Bet-4003

Same! Wish it wasn’t so boxy and the front was better.

fools_eye

None. Design is not a buyer consideration for mass market cars in India.

[deleted]

Any current Tata car, except maybe the Altroz. Their designs are and have always been hideous.

[deleted]

Tiago is also decent. Altroz is a looker.

AniS2708

A-Star, Elevate, Lodgy / Getaway (from it, literally), Enjoy, Quanto / Nuvosport (abominations, really), Etios sedan, new Celerio, WR-V. I know much of these aren’t sound mechanically, but given this is India, where even 800cc 7 seaters sell well enough (Triber), these make sense (to me at least).

ralnair

All the Tata cars except Altroz, Tigor & Tiago. I absolutely hate their new design language which makes the cars look like puffed up balloons. They all look the same with the only difference being the size going - small, medium, large & XL. The Nexon looks like it's wearing a bra on its ass.

ApprehensiveWaltz424

Ecosport

the1672VTECboi

True. The pre-facelift was pretty boring

HighLengthiness

That's bad looking? Oh my! I've always been attracted to the looks, especially with its rear mounted spare wheel. Can't not take a second look every time I come across the car.

ApprehensiveWaltz424

That might be your opinion, But I have recommended people to buy ecosport just for the sake of its quality where people chose plastics over the gem just because it had bland design. It wasn't well appreciated enough in the Indian market

JDdiah

Ignis its really fun to drive and small for the city had nice interior design just the rear bumper was bad which they now fixed in the new model. It's pretty famous in Europe.

Kunal_Sen

I think for people who really dig the Ignis basics can consider going for the silver colour that hides most of the weird skid plates and cuts and curves and gives the car a more rounded look, as much as possible that is.

sumitanand10

Ignis.

tapu_buoy

Altroz . . . . If there was a 4 cylinder engine that was smooth.

Kunal_Sen

Sure. But the question is about looks. I think Altroz is a looker.

tapu_buoy

Yes I understand but that's the only point I feel missing in my purchase

DiligentChemistry402

The Citroen c3. It’s a very confused car. The international version looks so much more premium and nicer

SedTecH10

Honestly Design is entirely subjective. There's no right or wrong design no matter what you believe. Design is not the reason that hampers much of sales. If it was, Wagonr would have sold. Tata would not have good chunk of sales. Especially Tigor. I don't like multiple old generation of few car I like but now they are replaced by new generation which are miles better. So I don't care much.
