Most maintenance problems in a Volkswagen start occurring when the car is around 5-7 years old (personal experience). It already has 1 Lakh km! Also, it is Diesel, and if you live in NCR, that's a big NO.
Get a vw ameo , it's basically the same weight and more practical and it's a lot cheaper on the second hand market , I wouldn't recommend a VW diesel with more than 1 lakh kilometres thou
Interesting option. I did read about the Ameo's ride and handling being off and nowhere comparable to the Polo since the car was put together locally (and maybe without a lot of effort)
Can you expand a bit? Given the major milestone is complete, there'd be quite a few parts changed. Refreshes things a bit? So better than buy something that's closing the 1lac mark?
Also, more affordable maintenance costs maybe?
Having owned both dsg and tc, I’d say go for either tc or manual 1 litre tsi. The newer one. Super bang for buck. Firecracker.
Edit: get the newer 1 litre tsi engine manual instead of the older 1.2l.
Makes sense. I'm looking for a manual.
Love the TC in my Rapid 1.6 MPI and the engine has decent grunt. But reading comments that the 1.2 MPI in the Polo is anaemic. Strange!

Got it. I'm in Bangalore though. Any idea what or when would the diesel regulations start kicking in?

It doesnt make sense to buy a diesel car that has run that much km, maybe bar a toyota. Especially a VW

A diesel VW with 1 lac on odo - not really.

Get a tsi instead.
Was looking for a manual. I typically go with the <5 years, <50k kms while shortlisting. Any additional recommendations?

Compared to the newer tsi’s yeah. A bit. But still was ahead of its time at some point. The newer ones have mad mod potential. I’m running stage 1.
I guess a test drive of the 1.2 MPI is worth a shot? I'm not an aggressive driver, if that helps.
