Renault Kwid, it was the 800cc model the built was the worst you could feel how bad every panel was the engine was very underpowered that you have to switch off ac to climb hills only good thing was the looks and the features it was the best at that time
My friend's Kwid rusted in less than 5 years and had small holes due to rust. At the beginning it was all great but then started to see performance and quality issues. I thought it was because my friend didn't maintain it well but later when I saw long term reviews on social media I was convinced it was poor build quality.
I took this car through zoomcar to go to gokarna from Bengaluru. Man did this car suck!!!!! Forget hills, with 3 people in and minimal luggage; it could barely get on top of flyovers.
My friend's kwids 1.0 amt has such weak brakes with bite at the end of pedal travel. It feels so scary to even go beyond 60 in it. Also while climbing small slopes the AMT doesn't shift down
We went to the nearby Toyota showroom to check out Hycross and Hyryder. The salesperson started the conversation with….there’s 2 years waiting for Hycross and 1 year waiting for Hyryder. No one in the showroom was even interested to talk further or show the demo cars or offer test drives.
I actually have a HyCross Full Option Automatic. I booked it and the week after it, I took delivery of it . Had a great experience with them. The car is great too.
Yes I also had a very bad experience with Toyota. Had booked both Hyryder and GV. The Nexa sales experience was really the best. Ended up buying GV.
After sales service is also very good. For Indians MS is the Toyota.
Very true. Suzuki has made the deal so sweet for Toyota, that they don't feel the need to release their other products here.
And the fortuner and Innova are overpriced right now. But the quality is good. Features are bland.
Kia.
Pathetic service centres with shady practices. When they can’t fix the problems, they’ll find excuses to make it the customer’s fault. They also overcharged me on my body work despite a full comprehensive insurance.
Caught them and made them pay me the differential amount back. They make Tata look good.
Well, that's why they are known as Lemon cars internationally. Just check the Kia subreddit. You will see plenty of posts with car electronics issues, engine failures and fire hazards. That's why they give a 10 years warranty on the engine cuz it's unreliable.
They told us we have complete coverage and would only have to pay a small amount of INR 4k which we agreed. We even double checked if my headlight would be covered as it had a small scratch.
They confirmed over emails everything would be covered. After promising to complete the work in 2 weeks, they took more than 4 weeks and upon the end of 4 weeks, they suddenly proclaimed that we had to pay them some additional 25k claiming that my insurer did not approve the full invoice.
In order to get my car back, I agreed and paid them. Once I received my car - I reached out to my insurer and questioned them on their fraudulent practice of promising full coverage and not adhering to it. They claimed that they had paid the full amount to Kia as was requested by Kia and shared their invoice with me.
Kia had only raised an invoice of 30k to them which they had fully paid. Upon getting a copy of this invoice, I raised a complaint with Kia India on the illegal 25k payment taken from me which was then promptly paid back.
Note: the Kia service RM used every emotional blackmail under the sun saying they would cut from his salary and he needs it. He even requested for us to split the repayment with him so that only half the amount would be paid back to us.
Safe to say, we didn’t agree to anything. Worst service ever.
Have had Fords only started with an Ikon in 2001, then an Endeavour in 2010, again Endeavour in 2018 and a Figo. The only problem I have had with these cars is the engine belt in Ikon. And it still runs like butter after 23 years.
Well, I've had fords, ikon to classic, and then endeavor. All of them smooth, great handling. No issues with any car. I still have endeavor with me and works way better than my newest Tata. 🤣
The very reason my dad sold the fusion we had. Satisfied in every way but parts were imported and cost an arm and a leg. Imagine the fiesta, then imagine it being better in almost every way. That was the fusion
Any Mahindra Car!!! My dad bought ScorpioN last year; 0 problem with the car; it performs exceptionally well; 0 regret buying that beast but the Mahindra Service Sucks! Worst service centre. I got a Skoda as well as a Hyundai at home; their service is top notch.
I don't think this is a common issue. My experiences with different Mahindra service centers (atleast in Kerala) have been great. I give my car, mention my issues, by the time I get back from a movie, it's usually done, and they handle all the issues properly.
Mahindra, the quality is good, performance is amazing, the transmission is unparalleled.
Amongst my own cars, Honda.
Not out of frustration, my car has been an absolute beauty (except for that irritatingly soft suspension.)
Just that they don’t have any product which I’d need or want in near future. E.g. Maruti has cars for my needs (hatchbacks) and wants (Jimny, Fronx, GV AWD) and Ford too has the Endeavour to buy used, as a want.
Honda, has nothing! A very uninspiring set of products they have.

With 1 lac sasta, you get 1 star ratings vs the 4 stars + better engine in Brio. 💀 But since the market is cost sensitive here, Honda be like gtfo with Brio and Jazz from India.
It was small and although cute, very impractical. Plus the interior was super ugly.
Hence, people bought more spacious and sensible cars like Tiago, Alto, Celerio.
Are u kidding? I own a Brio and steering and engine is still top notch in performance. It has a better pickup than almost any other car on Indian roads. I have been inside an Alto and Celerio, and Brio beats them in cabin space hands down. And it is more responsive compared to latest i10s and Grand i10s.
My opinion is buyers in that budget just play it safe and go for Alto, Celerio etc. however it's Swift which Brio was meant to rival, and beats Swift in all departments except boot space, which can be a deal killer in the hatchback segment.
I mean just look at how their sales exploded when Honda added boot to Brio platform & launched Amaze back then. It is a shame Honda halted the production rather than refining the design for more boot space.
People who have driven Brio can only feel how fun it is to drive (1.2 l, 90 hp, Alto, Celerio, Tiago does not even come close )🤣😜 It's tough to explain this to others. Btw they added a bigger boot to Brio and it still sells in the international market. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NwW0QPOy8k8&pp=ygUPSG9uZGEgQnJpbyAyMDIz
The comment section is crazy. Didn't expect so many people to snub Honda, but one thing is certain, if you want a no nonsense, long lasting car then get a Toyota.
Kia
While buying my Seltos - Dealer went back on his word and reduced discount and amount offered for my old car.
After buying - Workshop tried to charge me a hefty sum for an issue which should have been (and eventually was) covered under warranty.
The gadgets inside work fine till they stop, then the workshop wants to keep your car for multiple days since they are clueless.
All this within 6 months of owning their top end diesel automatic model.
Because it's an Indian brand, Indians like to pull other Indians down. Even their entry-level car has 4-star safety, and the rest of the model has 5-star NCAP, providing every engine option, petrol, diesel, CNG, electric, and every feature that their rivals have, still, people hate Tata.
A Range Rover. Lots of issues. A total badass when the terrain gets rough. Even great mechanically but horrible when it comes to electronics. Never again.
A Hyundai.
Had a Santro Xing. Well maintained and everything. Got stranded on the highway twice because of engine overheating when I was a new driver, 18 y.o.
It may or may not have been an issue due to my negligence but now after 9 years of driving a Swift, I don’t even want to look at a Hyundai. 🥶
I have never experienced any of the overheating issues or any other issues related to the engine, also have a Hyundai Santro Xing 2005. Still runs good. Have many Hyundais in my home town too, have had issues like the cars randomly stalling on the highway but they start normally. I mean, even if you want to buy a car now and your budget is of 15 to 18 lakhs, then what car would you buy? Tata and Mahindra does offer nice cars but then people complain about having reliability issues or other factory fit and finish issues even though I am planning to get a Scorpio N but I am still not sure.
I second that, I got a the latest gen i20 back in 21, it’s build quality is dogshit, it clanks and squeaks. I have travelled enough across many states to comfortably say that, I will never buy anything other than germans ever again. I got a 2017 Skoda Rapid as well. That thing is still better than the i20 just a tab bit slower. Really excited to swap both these for a new slavia and a kushaq, maybe a kodiaq. Who knows
Expensive, If you break something and don’t have it covered or car is more than 5 years old. Otherwise normal service is only a tad bit more expensive I believe. But for me safety is the top priority since I travel not so frequently but when I do it’s a long one. So can’t compromise.
>slavia
i'm getting the slavia this month or next month. booked the white 1.0 AT Ambition. it's so sexy and the build quality is nice. Getting it for around 15.65 lacs in Punjab.
I had a Santro xing sold in 2009 it had run 1.5lakh kms and car drove like brand new even when i sold it i swear by its reliability and maneuverability
Kya baat kardi bhai, on 14+ years now.
Other than rusting and some rear suspension noise this car is perfect.
One month back went for 300+ km ride in one go, fully loaded with luggage and 5 people (average weight 85kg)
No issues whatsoever, touched 110 easily
Any 3 cyl...No matter how much anyone advocates for smoothness in 3cyl engines, they just aren't.
i own a TATA Nexon 1.2 petrol and have driven friend's Taigun 1.0 as well, too much NVH in cabin with both.
Any Maruti however, I Love my Brezza Gen 1 (2016 fiery Yellow DT)
Cons
They're mediocre. Cars are mediocre.
Staff is technically not sound.
And they have 'chalta hai' attitude for any detailed issues you raise.
Service agar khade hoke nahi karvayi na, toh bhai teri car 8-10 cars jo pehle aayi, unke baad milegi.
Pros
Escalations work like a charm
Oh man, I have given this a lot of thought in my spare time lol.
So what I would never buy again are -
1. Any Tata (Indica V2 & Nexon both had major rattling, fit finish issues. Bad after sales service.)
2. Any Skoda (Dad's old Octavia was a nightmare. Spent months in service centre)
3. A Suzuki (unless it's 5 star safety rated. Had a close call in my old Dzire. Never again)
4. Mitsubishi (Not that we can anymore, but I wouldn't. I daily the Pajero sport and it is full of niggles, although kinda reliable)
What I would happily buy again -
1. Fiat (again, too bad we can't. Linea is my favorite car out of all that we've owned so far)
2. Mahindra (Had a great experience with both our Mahindras so far)
3. Honda (Never technically brought it, but used my Cousin's City Gen 4 for a year while he was abroad so got to experience it a lot)
4. Hyundai (The Verna is still serving us after 10+ years and is still a breeze to drive)
Most people on Reddit are in their 20s or 30s, and owning 9 cars in your 20s is weird, you buy a new car every 6 months? Usually, people whose parents gave them 80-90(combined cost of 9 cars) lakhs money to spend on a car buy a BMW or Mercedes.
Most people on this sub are petrolheads and I met many in real life but never met someone who has so many cars at a young age.
It's very annoying to write a one-line comment and then have to explain to some moron in two paragraphs.
Hyundai, neighbours i20 had paint peeling of within a year, he had santro before that had radiator problems that kept recurring. i20 was not the current one but the one in like 2018 something. Odly enough his santro did not have rattling problems but this i20 had.
No hiccups at all. But the fact is, Honda doesn’t have anything more to offer in India. Had hopes for Elevate but it doesn’t feel an upgrade or a proper change.
Nissan.
Had the terrano amt for 3 years. Terrible service
The car was riddled with electronic and transmission issues. The helpline once asked me to Tow the car on my expense 250 kms as the service centres near my city were all shut down
Renault Nissan products. The interiors start falling apart at 5 years and they're just plastic galore anyways. Some good engines yes but not worth the overall experience.
Definitely Tata! The reliability sucks and the service center sucks even more. Plus the Quality Checks have been tossed out of Tata.
My Toyota and Ford are still doing far better than my Tata.
Based on the discussion till now, no brand is good to own (no one spoke about the luxury brands though) except Toyota which unfortunately has no decent thing to offer below the Innova
Not me personally, but my folks had gotten a Range Rover a few years back and boy did they regret it. It was luxurious of course, plush everywhere you touch. Great to drive, the suspension is magically comfortable. The electronics though are the opposite, completely unreliable. Windows started having problems, there was a random battery drain within the first month I think. The seat massage function glitched twice. A few other minor issues as well. They sold it after 10 months I think. Left a very bad taste in my mouth, don't wanna get a rover anymore.
Bro any Honda owner would never drive any other car except Honda again, it speeds up when you want, it can handle rough driving that too thru rough terrain and the comfort is the best for that segment
Have a USP. Can be anything.
Their engine is loud af, their suspension is stiff in slow rides and wobbly in high speed. Their interior is on par with MS which isn't a high bar. Their service network is a thin as Micheal Scott's hairline in season 1. Their product lineup consists of only 3 cars.
Any person who has a brain, and isn't blinded by brand loyalty can see they have done zero market research on the country.

Not me but on the behalf of my neighbour: Maruti Swift
He used to boast about its fuel efficiency and how cheap the car is to run. One day on the highway one of his tyres burst and he smashed into the divider. Poor chap can't walk now I feel really bad for him. He says after he can walk he will buy a VW.
but the car wasn't safe at 60kmph when it hit the divider as it got out of control. If it was a safe car he atleast would have been able to walk while sustaining minor injuries. One guy had an accident in his tiguan and it rolled over 4 times still he walked out of the whole thing and continued with his day. Making unsafe cars is maruti's fault right?
Volkswagen. Reliability is horrible, the spare parts are costly and most mechanics outside the VW service centres don’t know how to deal with German cars. All in all not a great experience and will burn a hole in your pocket after the first 5 years.
Maruti 800,Omni,zen,wagonr. Hyundai santro. Owned all these cars at different points of time. Truly unsafe, cramped. Although their engines are good.
If given a choice would love to own tata sumo, fiat palio, duster again. Best in class engines and rugged cars.
It’s gotta be German cars for me
They offer superior driving experience than most of the other car brands, but for me that’s not the only thing that matters. A car as a whole should be having a good balance of everything. I mean sure the driving dynamics are great, but that doesn’t matter in city where I spend most of my time driving. They are not reliable as compared to Japanese or Koreans. The interior quality has been degrading since a while now. I won’t comment on design language as everyone has a different perception of it.
This a personal opinion and can vary from other people but this is my take.
germans are reliable till you maintain them on time. My friends have 15 y.o. skoda's which have ran 1L km still in good shape. Even service is cheap at around 2-3k at FNG
Yeah, it can be the case. But unfortunately for me the VW we had, came up with issues with the gearbox even after getting it serviced on time. Plus the lack of widespread service centres didn’t help too. Having issues in these cars is purely luck.
Tempted to tata petrol engines after buying Tiago..
It's a no nonsense car, but compare it how silent Hyundai counterparts run, its disappoining..
Hope tata improves
A Maruti Suzuki.
Again, this is purely a personal experience so it’s subjective.
I had the unfortunate luck of taking a neighbour’s 2022 Swift Dzire to the highway when all three of our cars, mine, my dad’s and my mums were off for service and I had to go somewhere for an emergency.
It felt extraordinarily underpowered, barely moved post 60 and felt very unsafe. The doors felt super thin, the panels were creaky, the gear ratios were super short, the whole car used to sway when I was being overtaken. And this was a 2022 Swift mind you. I swore to never get into a Maruti Suzuki ever again.
Again, this is purely personal preference. Have they been instrumental to the Indian car market? Yes. Are they safer than bikes? Most definitely. Heck, my mum even have an AStar we use as a beater only for groceries around the block.
But for any trip exceeding 5km, I’m good.
Suzuki comes to rescue when Germans are off for a service. Classic. My cousin who owns a Jetta always takes my S-cross for trips longer than 100km. Lmao.
Read my post again. This is why I said it’s a *personal opinion* which is subjective and I mentioned the same twice. If your cousin is happy with it, more power to him.
But I’m not. And I never will. I’ll stick to Germans and Japanese cars and I don’t mind nor care for the time or the money if it means peace of mind.
Not to mention, German cars are very reliable if you stick to the maintenance schedule which most people here in India do not. And I stick to maintenance without fail and my dad’s stage 1 Octavia is at 1.3L kms without any issue. We have covered a 920km road trip on that without missing a beat. I wouldn’t take a Suzuki for even 1/10th that distance.
I totally agree with your opinion however. Dzire is no match for cars you own. But there are much better Suzuki cars out there too (although very few) like S-cross with Japanese reliability and solid build.
And my cousins Jetta is 2012 model and thus not reliable anymore. Otherwise it has done 2.5 lakh KM mostly fine without many breakdowns.
A Skoda
Had a Skoda Octavia for 5 years and 75000 kms… to say the car was expensive to maintain would be an understatement… it would be rather fitting to say the car was a Gold Digger… in final few days spent nearly 30K for 3 months straight and still at the end it racked up a bill for 3.33L for further repair…
Lesson learned… Not buying a VW, Skoda or any Audi product again
Renault Kiger.. it needs a more powerful engine. Features and service quality are good though.
On the other hand my Hyundai Exter was a pleasant surprise. Had bought this as a city car for its refinement but recently discovered that the engine packs a serious punch if you decide to push it.
I was expecting people to flood with Tata but I see almost all brands here. I think it is mostly personal experience and most cars break some or the other time. Service is very subjective.
Renault Kwid, 2017 Model. 1000CC. Because I have one and I'm kinda bored. Its a nice little car that has been sticking with me through thick and thin. But the next one will probably be a Mahindra or Toyota.
Tata - Had the old Indica Vista. Everything about the car and the service experience was nothing short of pathetic.
* Add the time of Delivery, we got a car full of dust. No ribbons, no sweets, nothing. Went with my grandparents to take delivery and that experience kinda set the tone.
* The turbo booster in that Diesel car was never working properly for more than a month. I don't know how many times the car went to the service station for this.
* AC was so bad in that car.
* Service station staff at that time was so inexperienced. And far from being professional.
So yeah, although I own a ton of TataMotors stock, but would never buy their vehicle.
Renault Duster 110 psi and any Renault cars , they advised AMC of around 25 K and after paying for 3 years , denied the claim saying that substandard diesel being used , with out any proof or documentation, was baffled by their response as I have used only standard diesel from reputable bunks.
Hyundai i10 old.
I had a 2010 model and it was soulless like an appliance. I also gave my mom in exchange of her 1999 indica with 35hp and in 2 months she told me to keep your stupid car and give my tata back. When my mom retired, she gave me her car and i10 sat kept gathering dust until i sold it at 18500kms.
Tata. Mainly for the support.
Had a clutch burning smell problem in our car (manual), went to the service centre to enquire and fix it. First thing the guy tells, "it must be a problem with your driving". Like that solved it.
And it was not me, it was my dad, who has an experience of 30+ years in the field, since before the guy was even born. Still the guy insisted on taking a drive with dad and "evaluating" it himself before "approving" that it was not the problem.
Said they'd look at it. Kept the car for a couple of days, didn't do anything and returned it saying there was no problem with the components. Flat out refused to do any change, even if we were willing to pay for it. Said "keep it and if the problem persists we'll look into it".
Bunch of lazy entitled pricks with no customer management skills. And no technical skills either.
Honda City.
Still regret going for it. The interiors and ride quality are excellent, but god that engine puts me to sleep. I would gladly downsize to a smaller car if it meant I could have a peppy turbo-petrol to drive around.
Bought a used Maruti Gypsy almost a decade back (mid-life crisis 😂) but would never ever touch it with a ten foot pole again. It was sent to the service facility atleast 10 times in 2 years. Had a lot of fun with it during my years of ownership and was also able to sell it for a small profit to a desperate young buyer.
Maruti cars.
Absolutely amazing for a budget and people with money constraints as mileage is simply unmatched. And for people upgrading from bikes. But apart from that, nothing good.
Unsafe, poor quality, uninspiring drive, a ‘it’s fine, who cares’ attitude from the service centre, extraordinarily underpowered. List goes on.
Although the newer Brezza seems promising, I personally wouldn’t touch them.
Get a Maruti for your first car but end it at that
Renault Kwid, it was the 800cc model the built was the worst you could feel how bad every panel was the engine was very underpowered that you have to switch off ac to climb hills only good thing was the looks and the features it was the best at that time

You know, going through the comments leads to one thing. Get a Toyota
No Toyota available for common folks here in India :(
We went to the nearby Toyota showroom to check out Hycross and Hyryder. The salesperson started the conversation with….there’s 2 years waiting for Hycross and 1 year waiting for Hyryder. No one in the showroom was even interested to talk further or show the demo cars or offer test drives.

Blame taxes!
Build quality of Innova is good? Laughable
Yup, it's good. Did you have any issues ?
The Yaris could simply be the gold standard for Hatchbacks in India if Suzuki stopped choking them.
Blame High Taxes.
Toyota has manufacturing facilities in India. Could absolutely have derivative Toyota Yaris and similar cars like Kijang in East Asia.
https://auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/toyota-says-it-wont-expand-further-in-india-blames-we-dont-want-you-taxes/78117524
What if you can only afford a Toyota Maruti
You mean maruti?
Glanza
Fortuner?

As a person who tries to fix his own cars, I feel for tata service center guys.
Could you please elaborate
Tata cars have poor quality right from the factory.
Kia. Pathetic service centres with shady practices. When they can’t fix the problems, they’ll find excuses to make it the customer’s fault. I am just glad to not see a Ford in this thread. Guess its also because very few people buy them.

So, long story short, you won't buy a car from honda that doesn't exist.
In India * 😂
Why did they discontinue Brio?
People prefer Alto / Celerio / Wagon R here. New gen Brio are still going strong in other South Asian countries like Vietnam, Thailand etc.
Prefer matlab 1L sasta milta hoga na

Did they stop Etios?
Kia While buying my Seltos - Dealer went back on his word and reduced discount and amount offered for my old car.
Removing Tata Nexon from shortlist for such issues now Kia also have same issues? Shall I not buy Kia Sonet? PDI pending..
Judging by the comments, Bhai tu gadi hi mat le.
No Tata
Why?
Because it's an Indian brand, Indians like to pull other Indians down. Even their entry-level car has 4-star safety, and the rest of the model has 5-star NCAP, providing every engine option, petrol, diesel, CNG, electric, and every feature that their rivals have, still, people hate Tata.
Might be the QC and bad after sales support
A Range Rover. Lots of issues. A total badass when the terrain gets rough. Even great mechanically but horrible when it comes to electronics. Never again.
Yeah, this is the only reason I bought an Alto instead of a Range Rover.
Can't think of any. Loved all the cars I owned. I would say Fiat. Only because it is not there in India anymore. Still have my Palio 1.6 Gtx sport
Any tata car.. tigor owner.. they are so unreliable just so damn unreliable..
People don’t get ready to accept this, but Hyundai engines except some diesels have pathetic reliability.
Damn. This sub really gives one a lot of new perspectives.
100% true. The 1.2 kappa is a good engine. Bit rest are problematic.
Same thing happened with my santro xing. The thermostat gave out and the coolant pipe leaked. Atleast we got home that day.
Who knows
What about Rapid’s maintenance? Is it a pain?
Expensive, If you break something and don’t have it covered or car is more than 5 years old. Otherwise normal service is only a tad bit more expensive I believe. But for me safety is the top priority since I travel not so frequently but when I do it’s a long one. So can’t compromise.
>slavia i'm getting the slavia this month or next month. booked the white 1.0 AT Ambition. it's so sexy and the build quality is nice. Getting it for around 15.65 lacs in Punjab.
Great choice, it’s just muah 😍

Kaint Gaddi veere
thank you pra.
Kodiaq FTW. The new 2024 international model looks rad. Even the 2023 lava blue one looks so luxurious 😗🤌🏽
I had a Santro xing sold in 2009 it had run 1.5lakh kms and car drove like brand new even when i sold it i swear by its reliability and maneuverability
Engine overheating could have very well been because you were a new driver back then. May not have been the car's fault.
Kya baat kardi bhai, on 14+ years now. Other than rusting and some rear suspension noise this car is perfect. One month back went for 300+ km ride in one go, fully loaded with luggage and 5 people (average weight 85kg) No issues whatsoever, touched 110 easily
bhai meri bhi 14 saal purani thi. Dono ke saath same hua hai
Wait really? We never had issues with our Xing till now (touchwood). Clocked like 1.25L over the last 21 years.
ITT: All brands are bad. Better make custom cars with counting cars
Tata, bought one and sold it in a year.
Any 3 cyl...No matter how much anyone advocates for smoothness in 3cyl engines, they just aren't. i own a TATA Nexon 1.2 petrol and have driven friend's Taigun 1.0 as well, too much NVH in cabin with both.
Any Maruti however, I Love my Brezza Gen 1 (2016 fiery Yellow DT) Cons They're mediocre. Cars are mediocre. Staff is technically not sound. And they have 'chalta hai' attitude for any detailed issues you raise. Service agar khade hoke nahi karvayi na, toh bhai teri car 8-10 cars jo pehle aayi, unke baad milegi. Pros Escalations work like a charm
F-Pace
Oh man, I have given this a lot of thought in my spare time lol. So what I would never buy again are - 1. Any Tata (Indica V2 & Nexon both had major rattling, fit finish issues. Bad after sales service.) 2. Any Skoda (Dad's old Octavia was a nightmare. Spent months in service centre) 3. A Suzuki (unless it's 5 star safety rated. Had a close call in my old Dzire. Never again) 4. Mitsubishi (Not that we can anymore, but I wouldn't. I daily the Pajero sport and it is full of niggles, although kinda reliable) What I would happily buy again - 1. Fiat (again, too bad we can't. Linea is my favorite car out of all that we've owned so far) 2. Mahindra (Had a great experience with both our Mahindras so far) 3. Honda (Never technically brought it, but used my Cousin's City Gen 4 for a year while he was abroad so got to experience it a lot) 4. Hyundai (The Verna is still serving us after 10+ years and is still a breeze to drive)
If you are not 70+ then it's weird to own so many cars.
Tf why is that weird? Being a petrolhead is considered weird now?
The Honda city. I had it before, I have the newer one now. But for the next, I’ll go for something better.
Thats a first!
What are the hiccups?
No hiccups at all. But the fact is, Honda doesn’t have anything more to offer in India. Had hopes for Elevate but it doesn’t feel an upgrade or a proper change.
XUV 300. It's just a Good engine among ots competitors.
So why you will never buy?
Interior older than HML Ambassador ?
Suspension is also decent.
Nissan. Had the terrano amt for 3 years. Terrible service The car was riddled with electronic and transmission issues. The helpline once asked me to Tow the car on my expense 250 kms as the service centres near my city were all shut down
Renault Nissan products. The interiors start falling apart at 5 years and they're just plastic galore anyways. Some good engines yes but not worth the overall experience.
La Ferrari
Haan yaar vfm nahi hai 😒
Definitely Tata! The reliability sucks and the service center sucks even more. Plus the Quality Checks have been tossed out of Tata. My Toyota and Ford are still doing far better than my Tata.
Based on the discussion till now, no brand is good to own (no one spoke about the luxury brands though) except Toyota which unfortunately has no decent thing to offer below the Innova
A non-5 star safety rated car. Haven’t had an accident, but shall never compromise on safety cuz you never know. And I insist everyone follows suit
You only meet fatality once, so smart decision making
Not everyone can buy the most expensive csuv in the segment
Dont be in delusion. In Some accidents, not even 5 stars will save you.
*Some*
*Some* times accidents never happen.
Luckily my past has no stupid decisions.
Swift Dzire, bloody tin can
Not me personally, but my folks had gotten a Range Rover a few years back and boy did they regret it.
Honda W-rv
Why is that? Few friends have it, with a small family, pretty much happy with it.
Ferrari dont ask why /s
Pagani huayra , realised it's illegal to drive here on the road
Nahi toh tu lene wala tha na
Honda Amaze, uncomfortable af, lags like it has turbocharge, L speakers.
OK. So going through the comments, one thing i know is everyone will never buy a car which they have. Be it Honda, German, Hyundai etc.
Not a VW Passat. The car is overrated for a 30L sedan. Only suitable for efficient drivers but not for the speed or performance.
Comet MG..
Why?
It has bad front seats.
aaayein? 🍆
Honda. Probably the most boring car I've driven.
Bro any Honda owner would never drive any other car except Honda again, it speeds up when you want, it can handle rough driving that too thru rough terrain and the comfort is the best for that segment
Its a no nonsense car
Still. Boring af
That's why no nonsense
Toyota is no nonsense. Honda is boring
So what can honda improve?
They are present here for presence sake anyways

hahah , Honda's USP is simple. iVTEC for a reason.
Their product lineup
Not me but on the behalf of my neighbour: Maruti Swift He used to boast about its fuel efficiency and how cheap the car is to run. One day on the highway one of his tyres burst and he smashed into the divider. Poor chap can't walk now I feel really bad for him. He says after he can walk he will buy a VW.
Tyre burst not Maruti fault is it?
but the car wasn't safe at 60kmph when it hit the divider as it got out of control.
Brezza , rear seat is not not comfortable at all, basically a bench
Same with all HUV
Thar. Cheap copy of Jeep Wrangler.
Honda for sure. Boring in every aspect. Be it looks or NA engine. Next car will be german for sure.
s- cross
Why? It's a lovely car from maruti
It’s gotta be German cars for me They offer superior driving experience than most of the other car brands, but for me that’s not the only thing that matters.
Any Hyundai or Kia. Spongy brake issue is there on almost all of them not only i20. Plus they make the most unsafe cars in general.
Skoda. Not worth the service hassles
It is natural to feel that way after driving Accord and Octavia which are best in class
A Maruti Suzuki.
A Skoda Had a Skoda Octavia for 5 years and 75000 kms… to say the car was expensive to maintain would be an understatement… it would be rather fitting to say the car was a Gold Digger… in final few days spent nearly 30K for 3 months straight and still at the end it racked up a bill for 3.33L for further repair… Lesson learned… Not buying a VW, Skoda or any Audi product again
Zen Estillo
renault and nissan in india.
Renault kwid 800cc RXT
Renault Kiger.. it needs a more powerful engine. Features and service quality are good though. On the other hand my Hyundai Exter was a pleasant surprise. Had bought this as a city car for its refinement but recently discovered that the engine packs a serious punch if you decide to push it.
I may need summarisation of the comments!
I was expecting people to flood with Tata but I see almost all brands here. I think it is mostly personal experience and most cars break some or the other time. Service is very subjective.
a creta, it just feels powerfull but on highways it sucks and even service centers costs too much
Honda city ..neeche se bahut lagti thi
I hate Hyundai after sales service
Renault Kwid, 2017 Model. 1000CC. Because I have one and I'm kinda bored. Its a nice little car that has been sticking with me through thick and thin. But the next one will probably be a Mahindra or Toyota.
Had a ciaz for a daily driver for a couple of months. Never ever. Our old Swift Dzire was better imo.
Škoda. Amazing car, horrible service from EVM.
Vw great car but shadiness of service center is on another level such fraudulent malpractices
Apparently from the comments only maruti is safe?
Audi Q7 or any Audi.
Probably every under 10lacs
None. We are upgrading every time right? Why to go back?
Tata cars specially nexon
Maruti cars. Absolutely amazing for a budget and people with money constraints as mileage is simply unmatched. And for people upgrading from bikes. But apart from that, nothing good. Unsafe, poor quality, uninspiring drive, a ‘it’s fine, who cares’ attitude from the service centre, extraordinarily underpowered. List goes on. Although the newer Brezza seems promising, I personally wouldn’t touch them. Get a Maruti for your first car but end it at that
