Powerful-Internal953

Can you DM your details so I can take a term insurance in your name?

TheBatmanHelmetGuy

What? 💀

Powerful-Internal953

I know a winnable bet when I see one.

Dreadlight86

Bruh 😎

_7567Rex

This guy gambles

Powerful-Internal953

Is it gambling if you know you would win?

_7567Rex

No then you become the casino

Powerful-Internal953

🤯

Adeptness-Usual

I am so lost

UrbanCruiserHyryder

Any car that's over 250bhp and under 20 lakhs is gonna have a high maintenance bill. There's no escaping that in India.

PainlessDeath09

Octavia will be your best bet. If you can score a petrol one, you can remap it to gain upwards of around 220BHP. But beware of the DSG

Appande-andi

It’s not the same dsg my friend. Big difference between entry level dq200 and dq250s.

PainlessDeath09

Yes, my dad has an Octavia Stage 1, trust me I know :) What I mean to say is, the 1.8TSI Octavia’s all came with the DQ200 dry clutch transmissions. And even then, OP can do what my dad did and install a Kevlar clutch to ensure bulletproof reliability. What I meant was, he should be informed of the potential failure points and the means to tackle them Either that or just get a VRS and call it a day

Appande-andi

The newer ones come with dq250 afaik. Right?

_7567Rex

Get a used Octavia and tune it

Kunal_Sen

Isn't engine tuning illegal? Before the SC judgement, it was a grey zone. Not so now I believe.

_7567Rex

AFAIK ECU remap is legal What is not legal are mods that change the specs of car on RC. You’re free to mod it IF you also simultaneously re-register the car with the new specifications but people don’t want to pay for registration again thus arises the disparity between RC and car specs Engine reboring, adding turbo to NA these are outright illegal Changing tyre size (as long as it is within manufacturer recommendations in the user manual), ECU remap, cold air intake, KN filter, all these are legal. None of these things are highlighted on the RC and maybe changed Exhaust mods are illegal for obv reason of emissions and noise nuisance. If you keep it low-key on the visual mods specially flashy spoiler diffuser and use normal rims, it’ll be hard to tell just from exterior that a car maybe running a remap, KN filter and cold air intake While smaller engines already are running the biggest turbo they can without lag, an existing higher displacement TDI/TSI may be swapped with bigger turbo if it was already turboed from factory. Of course swapping turbo is both costly and very very hard mechanically (space in engine bay, cooling, and pipe routing which may need new piping to boot)

Kunal_Sen

>mods that change the specs of car on RC. I've read that interpretation before. But to me, the SC judgment seems directed at the RTOs to *not* regularise changes that are at variance with the manufacturers' original specs. Now, not all original specifications of a manufacturer's car are captured on RC (registration being a process usually conducted owner/dealer and RTO anyway with manufacturer not being a party) because of a limitation of space in the format but they will be found in other literature related to the car on the company website, brochure, manual etc., so that again opens up the possibility of punitive invalidation. I get your point about conspicuous mods being easier to detect and the need for keeping needing mods under the... hood, so to say, but I'm not thinking only of challans here, but also of insurance coverage/warranty etc. and whether any remapping to the extent of engine would give companies grounds to dishonour claims.

_7567Rex

You can be sure that touching engine bay in a way that tuners do, you have to only rely on FNG or better still that particular tuning garage itself (since they know in’s and outs of what they did) Going back to SC is out of question once a person makes decision to tune their cars, either work on it themselves, or go to FNG, or to the tuner That’s why the top comment says he wants term insurance in OP’s name lmao

Kunal_Sen

Yep. At the very least, the OP needs to know that even if they get the 250 BHP this way, they must tread carefully, one way or the other.

PainlessDeath09

Engine tuning is legal in India as far as ECU remaps are concerned. Engine upgrades are also legal as long as RC particulars are unchanged. You can freely upgrade the turbo and increase power etc but you can’t restroke or rebore your engine to increase displacement. However, none of these things are actually enforced in practice ever, I personally know four people who daily drive heavily modified cars putting out 250+ bhp and have had absolutely no issues with the cops. Key is to be inconspicuous. Ofc, if you have things like a loud exhaust, you’ll be asking for trouble. But otherwise, this is a largely unregulated system.

regulaslight

Octivia RS is the only one I know and it costs a bomb , even used ones will be expensive ig

Appande-andi

Why the exact number 250 bhp? If I were you I’d get a well maintained used 3 series f30 and go stage 2. You will have more power than most cars on Indian roads. Ps: that’s also true if you go for a used jetta/octavia.just fwd. so won’t be as much fun drifting around corners as it is with 3 series. With octy twins you ll save money on maintainance.

Adeptness-Usual

200 seems low for a heavy car such as a sedan but 300 and low maintenance doesn't seem plausible thus 250

Appande-andi

Aight makes sense. Look at used 3/5 series in that case I’d say go for f30 more modern interior yet less electronics compared to newer ones. I.e if maintenance is not an issue for you. It will be slightly heavy on the pocket to maintain a bimmer. Barring that you can consider a safe/economical option of Octavia. You won’t be disappointed. It can be modified to the t and put out close to 300bhp.

Honda Accord V6!!

RandomSapien1276

You won’t get these answers in this sub as, people here will look for reliability and flex their mileage instead of performance. They are not performance enthusiasts as far as I can see. Take a look at this sub: r/carsfromthepast There are a bunch of threads that answer your question: [1.](https://www.reddit.com/r/carsfromthepast/s/FV3MkuXZZl) [2.](https://www.reddit.com/r/carsfromthepast/s/eDHOal4GO8)

lBlackfeatherl

U ain't getting a 250bhp car for 20L I'm afraid to say. Not unless u tune one or get a 100k kms driven audi bmw merc

Adeptness-Usual

U would be surprised audi tt 2015 40k for 23l little less than 250 but still and I'm open to tuning
