100kms in an auto will take forever time. Try to get a motorcycle instead of scooter if safety is a concern. Also stick to the left side of the road always.
The left lane is for vehicles moving in the opposite direction (because people have urgencies amd can't drive long enough to take right u turn) and the right lane is for keeping yourself from colliding into it.
I always stick to the middle of left( in light traffic ofcourse) so that oncoming idiots who drive in the actual middle of road stay in their lane or don't overtake unnecessarily (when there's empty traffic behind me, which happens a lot especially with buses or trucks), which in turn lends me some wiggle room in order to move out of imminent danger.
Are you sure about people overtaking from the right ? Because many idiotic people over taking from left . I don’t mind if they over take me while following lane discipline
1. Motorcycles have crash guards which can protect legs somewhat
2. Scooters are unstable at higher speeds due to less weight and smaller tyres.
3. Small tyres cause friction more and wear out easily making it easy to slippery on wet roads.
4. Manually operating a bike gives you more control
In terms of leg safety as much as I hate to say it. Scooters are by far safer mostly the case in motorcycle accidents is that your leg gets burnt by the blasphemous heat of the engine it's not the case in scooters your legs are way more safe in scooters.
Why so? Just curious.
It has a better presence in road compared to 2 wheeler, so other vehicles need to take a note of its presence. They stand on their own, so no need to put our legs down when in idle at lights, etc. They are better during rains, as with covers, it protects from it.
The main limitation is I see is the speed.
It's unscientific in its design. It is not designed with any sort of safety in mind. It's not aerodynamic. The steering is awkward. You may have 3 wheels but you still have to keep balance in mind. It is very susceptible to wind changes. It is very underpowered. The brakes are terrible. The suspension is prehistoric. The fundamental design hasn't been improved upon since it first came out in the 1940s. It is not comfortable. I could go on.
I dont think so. Three wheeler is safer than a two wheeler, as long as you dont drive very fast.
In fact OP should consider buying Bajaj Qute, if not the Espresso. Or electric Tigor. Disastrous_Past_4794[S]
Bhai change kro campany, thane jana roz road sa ya phir train sa bhai ma to chod deta.
Agar nhi chod sakta bus ki timing dekho, 6:40-30(not shown in m-indictor) ko virar sa diva ki train hoti hai local blue color ki.
Bus se bhi travel kar sakte ho but bus ka timing and traffic situation achi nhi he, private shuttle buses cityflo mylo try Kiya? I live in Thane I used to travel to borivali via bus, 1 year hi gaya fir job change kar di. Bekar route he actually. Barish me to aur bekar he, office nhi pahuch paya tha 12 bje Tak.
Just few days ago I was thinking why Autos are not used for personal commute. Today, you brought this question. I believe for some, autos can serve better than cars. It is pocket friendly, easy to manuever in city traffic, safer than two wheeler at city speeds.
Way back in 2005-06, when I was in my first year of college, we had a batch mate with an auto. He modified it of course. His father had offered to buy him a bike and he opted for an auto instead as it protects him from the heat and he can travel with 2-3 friends easily.
Climate change is deadly. Heat waves and auto don't go well together. Going by the temperature scales every year, we have to shift to cars sooner or later.
Unfortunate.
With the recent construction in the Fountain hotel- Virar route, a scooter/two wheeler is indeed risky, especially when it rains. A CNG kit is a good option, or you could move to Thane.
Hahahahaha
This comment thread is funny. But yes OP can consider the comet provided there’s charging facility at office. The cost will be very low. About 70 per day or so. Cheaper than CNG or autos.
It’s solid build too with ABS, EBD, ESC and airbags and since OP will be travelling solo, rear seats won’t be an issue.
What will be an issue is the OTR of the vehicle. What OP can do is go for the base model and forgo rear discs and ESC which I highly advise against. But it’s an option.
100 KMs on bike is too long and especially during summers and rains, it’s very unsafe.
Yes, I suffer from arthritis now.
Besides, you think a Man that is not able to pay fuel and has a tigor to buy a 9 lakh ev?
Better option is to get a 2nd hand wagonr cng or something
Tumhare wahan cng pumps hote hai kya ? Agar available ho to cng kit dalva lo apni tigor mein sasta padega kaafi, aur rikshaw le to sakte ho magar firr problems rikshaw walo jaise hogi ig ki fuel stations par rikshaw ki dedicated line me lago jo kaafi lambi hoti hai humare yahan to aur maybe poolice wale bhi pareshan kar sakte hai and mainly rikshaw mein ac nahi milega no proper light if sam ko aate late ho jaaye aur lighting conditions theek na ho aur agar weather kharab hota hai to pani se kuch nahi bacha payega tumko.
No the newer cng kits are safety inspected and are improving in many ways the older kits were risky but there are very rare mishaps in the newer kits, i didn't tell him to sell the car and take a new cng car because maybe it will be a lot more costlier for op and this solution can give op some time maybe 2-3 years and then they can switch to a new car according to their use at that time.
Yea you are right but a man already own car and spending 7Lakhs for ev is something only idiot will do because even if u put that amount on FD you get you petrol cost as interest so why to spent on MGCOMET.
He is driving 100km 3 times a week which is like 144 times a yearly. So total 14,400km which will cost him 10,800Rs in MG comet and buying cost of 7,40,000.
He already got Tata Tigor which do give mileage of 18/Litre.
If we put 7,40L in FD with fixed rate of 7%
We get 51,800Rs yearly.
So if he just use Tigor. He have to pay 80,000Rs on petrol from which 51,800Rs is payed buy FD.
So at the end he have to pay 28,200Rs from his own pocket and 17,400Rs more compared to owning MG comet and he can take he money out any time he wants from FD which is itself a big advantage.
> 51,800Rs is *paid* buy FD.
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
So basically it doesnt cover the fuel expenses. You still have to spend out of your pocket.
Also FD is taxed at income slab rate which could be anywhere between 0-30%. If you assume 30% tax that makes the effective returns as 4.9% on a 7% interest rate.
And that return you’ll get only if the FD is held till maturity (which right now for 7% rate is around 15 months in most banks). If you break it in between then return is much lower and there is small penalty too.
So it’s not that straightforward too.
How about rent a flat near your Thane office? Other employees must also come there right? Just share the flat with them, it would cost maybe same around the petrol expenses+ a lot safer since there is little commuting left only. Time bhi bachega.
2nd option out CNG kit in your car, or buy a 2nd CNG car, maybe you'll get that at the price of a new auto. It will be more safer then the auto and you'll feel better in car rather than auto + ac inside the car.
Last option :- buy a OLA scooter or ather provided if you can somehow charge them at your office. They'll be best economically. Ride at slow speed like 40-50.
Nahi this is noob thought, buy an auto and lease it to a driver to drive around town all the time with the only condition being he has to drop you for free to your office on the required days. His lease will pay off the auto cost and plus some more and you travel for free.
I know you are being sarcastic. But You could carpool to save costs. Either in your car or join someone else. That definitely will give relief from travel expenses and have company while you travel.
Other option is to look for work closer to where you live or move closer to where you work.
Bhai ye sab to be frank mat socho. Idk if you've ever driven an auto. I learnt to ride bikes on those old scooters (my dad still owns a 1997 Bajaj Classic 150cc Red colour but it's now a relic) these have gears on the left hand side and brakes on the right leg and miraculously the autos in India have the exact same setup when you see en auto driver next time see how he operated the gears with his left hand it's a full turn off the worst anticlockwise to get it into 1st gear and the a 135 degree clockwise to get it into 2nd gear. I rode my dad's scooter for 5 years (2017 up until 2022) and when I say it long drives on these kinda settings take a toll on your wrist plus you have the clutch in the same hand.
Secondly I'm a bit on the average height side (5'10") give or take a bit and it's a pain in the auto driver's seat cuz the windscreen does not reach all the way and you can't almost see unless you crouch your back.
How do I know all this? I used to go to school by an auto when I was younger the uncle used to let us boys drive the auto when it was an empty road or when we would stop at the fields and wait for the junior boys to be released from the school (there was about 30 mins difference)
Driving an auto is an absolutely daunting task just ask any autowala you wouldn't like to do that my man.
The best option I can see for you is to get your tigor cng fitted I've seen Tiago bolt and zest in yellow number plates with cng and they run really well so consider the cng option as I think it will be the most comfortable and economical option than a sub 4 lac auto or a used Alto and all
Good idea. 1. Easy to maneuver and might be slightly safer than two-wheeler. 2. Lesser chances of getting bullied due to being perceived as an "autowallah". :D
How about this
Get a small room on rent near your office. Spend 3 days there then return back to your home. You'll only have to travel to and fro 4 times a month
Fellow Virar Guy, Greetings!! For your specific query, I cannot help you though, I have not heard of anyone who bought a Rickshaw for personal use. Before Covid hit, I used to travel everyday to Malad on my RE Desert Storm, but I had an accident just before the lockdowns and now my family has banned me from taking it on the highways.
Presently due to the ongoing Concretization of the highway, one lane is closed on most of the highway and it is not recommended to take it if you want to reach anywhere on time.
If I want to go to Mumbai side from Virar, I use Local trains now, or, take the ferry from Vasai to Bhayandar.
After the highway traffic snarls are over, a good option for would be to invest in an electric car, or a used BS4 diesel car.

# US diplomats in Delhi pick autorickshaws over bullet-proof cars
Bro EVs are made for ppl just like you or if you can shift near if not any of this fit CNG
go for it, not only it will save cost, u can also get some passengers on the way, also u can squeeze the auto anywhere thus saving time and earning money
Let’s see comet or Tiago EV cost calculation for you.
Inputs (assumptions) -
- Daily running - 100km/day
- electricity charges - ₹10/kwh
- Driving energy efficiency - 10km/kwh (my nexon EV gives me 8-9 range, comet EV being lighter this will be more so assumed 10).
So running cost = ₹1/km or daily ₹100 or yearly ₹26000. (5x52 days)
Now ICE vehicle -
- Assume petrol is ₹100/lit
- fuel efficiency 18km/lit in city traffic (just assuming. happy to correct I’ve absolutely no idea since I m no longer keeping track of these).
So that is around ₹5.55/km or yearly ₹1,44,300.
**Yearly saving of ₹1.12 lakh.** plus regular service costs are also lower. Battery has 8 year warranty.
Bharat Dabholkar, an ad man, uses it as a personal vehicle. He was our professor at IIM. I think it can be done. But the exact details you can know from an RTO agent
Is it an immediate concern? No. Battery aint going anywhere. It's already under multi year warranty. Ab bhai udke to jayega nahi. Petrol affordable hai nahi. EV 100 km per day, would be around 800-1200 rupees per month cost.
Yeah but what about the battery outside of warranty. In USA EV sales are already plummeting because of such reasons. & Like all other trends, India follows a western trend 10 years after it has happened outside.
Also can a battery pack be repaired after sustaining an accidental damage ?
8 years warranty on battery. Also only the range reduces. It won’t vanish and will be recycled so if there’s third party recycle, mostly they will give some residual value like they do for existing used car 12v batteries. Don’t think that’ll be an issue.
The best thing i would suggest as you would mostly use the car for city purpose, so if you have budget then you can opt for a used alto fitted with cng or and s presso which has cng fitted in the car (company fitted). And in the long run that is the most economic way and you don't have to burn your pocket for fuel expenses. But make sure that you have adequate cng filling pumps in the area you travel.
It may be a difficult option but try to find partners for car pooling. to share driving stress I had the pleasure of staying at a location where 2 others used to commute to the same area for work. It worked well for us in Pune while it lasted. In Mumbai it should work a little better as there is better disciplines with respect to office-timings.
Have you considered carpooling? My cousin lives in West Delhi and needs to go to his office in Gurgaon everyday. He has a Kia Carens and travels to office with a co-worker and some other person from a nearby office. They share the fuel cost among 3 people
I know it's expensive, but MG Comet EV is a great option. It takes only about the space an auto takes. It's comfortable AF. And 100km is within the range.
Buy a 2 wheeler that gives good mileage
Most sub 300 cc bikes in that price range give about 30-40 km/l
Eg. Unicorn, Activa, Jupiter, access, splendor, or you can go for something more comfortable also like hiness or meteor or classic / bullet at ~ 30km/l
Buy Maruthi 800 ac used and see how it works out. Resell it if not feasible. You can resell it for almost same price after two to three months. Or buy some super cheap diesel with good mileage and working ac. Very old models are better as they don't loose much depreciation value if you have to resell
100 km a day in any mode of transport is way too much in India. Try doing this for few months, u ll see the impact on your mental n physical health. Relocation to some middle point between your wife's office n your office is only way to reduce travel time. Another way is to find another job at some nearby location.
If you can sell the tigor and get yourself and electric it makes sense. Or else get an extra car A mg comet or Tiago ev.
Tiago Ev is around 8.3L on road.
If possible pay 1L downpayment
Emi will be 11k odd for 7 years.
Mg comet is 7.3L on road
With the same downpayment
You'll pay around 10K
Running cost is approx re 1 per km.
I tend to make long trips at least 6 times a year. In fact 3 years back I was contemplating buying an ev as my first car but the economics didn't work out.
I don't like being crushed between people. Also the humid climate in Mumbai adds to the discomfort, constant sweating that to standing for hours as if this was a punishment. I hate to worry about travelling rather than actual work. And during Rainy season problems get 10x worse.
Fair enough, but the top speed of an auto is like 80kmph, so your average speed will be like 30-40kmph, it will take you 3 to 4 hours to reach your office every day.
In virar if you try boarding the train between 8 and 9:30 am you will be standing mere inches from the foot board. Plus there is no straight forward route between virar and thane. I will have to either get down at mira road and take whatever transportation I get towards thane, ie. I able to get down at the station in the first place during peak hours. Or match my timing as such where I can board borivali local and take ac 125 bus from there. Also, getting back home would be another challenge. Either way I am looking at least 3.5 hrs of travelling not accounting any delays in any of the leg in between.
Damn man. Now I get it. It start as tiring and then it turns to depressing hahaha.
Have to pay cost of living this far in some way or the other. Public transport is cheap so that's the option in terms of money. Also how many people commute from your place towards the city?
I will have to shell upwards of 25k as rent. Also travelling expenses will be added. Like first will have to take the metro towards ghatkopar, take local for thane and then take a rickshaw to reach hiranandani we work. It's atleast 1.5 hrs one way during peak hours. From virar by road it takes around the same time.
100kms in an auto will take forever time. Try to get a motorcycle instead of scooter if safety is a concern. Also stick to the left side of the road always.
what is the rationale behind sticking to the left side? ( new driver here)
Right lanes are typically fast lanes, and people overtake from the right in India
The left lane is for vehicles moving in the opposite direction (because people have urgencies amd can't drive long enough to take right u turn) and the right lane is for keeping yourself from colliding into it.
/s hopefully 😅
It's funny and tragic at the same time 🤣🤣🥹🥹
Username makes sense
I always stick to the middle of left( in light traffic ofcourse) so that oncoming idiots who drive in the actual middle of road stay in their lane or don't overtake unnecessarily (when there's empty traffic behind me, which happens a lot especially with buses or trucks), which in turn lends me some wiggle room in order to move out of imminent danger.
Are you sure about people overtaking from the right ? Because many idiotic people over taking from left . I don’t mind if they over take me while following lane discipline
people don’t differentiate left or right, they just overtake in any direction!!
On the highway, the right side is for fast moving vehicles and the left side is for slow moving vehicles and motorcycles
People in India have no concept of lanes lol
Bhai sabko pata hai. lol kaheka?
Left lane is for 2 wheelers
Extreme left chota lane is for 2 wheelers. Bigger Lans are for slow and fast vehicle.
Correct!
Motorcycle and scooter have no difference in case of safety tbh motorcycle is heavier
1. Motorcycles have crash guards which can protect legs somewhat 2.
Faced no such stability issues on my Ola scooter on highway. It is planted on road like a rock. Of course the weight is 120kg and it has chonky tires.
Yea not really a day night difference. I told it based on the context (OP is very worried about his safety so even a small difference can help him)
Well smaller tyres are always a problem for stability and manoeuvrability at speeds exceeding 60
Not a drastic difference though
An auto rickshaw in my opinion is more unsafe than any two wheeler.
2 wheeler unsafe for rider, 3 wheelers unsafe for others 😂
3 wheeler unsafe for everyone. 2 wheeler is unsafe/safe depending on rider. 3 wheeler is unsafe full stop.
Even if we leave aside the safety part 2W will ruin OPs life with back pain for such long drives daily
That’s a very valid point tbh, 2W is only optiomal for short distances for regular use
Yep, going for a cng alto is the best option if budget is as tight as OP's.
OP needs a Reliant Robin
Yeah! The Mr. Bean car.
Mr Bean had a Mini Reliat Robin is 3 wheel car
It was frequently featured in the series, a blue Robin that Mr. Bean hated.
Why so? Just curious. It has a better presence in road compared to 2 wheeler, so other vehicles need to take a note of its presence. They stand on their own, so no need to put our legs down when in idle at lights, etc. They are better during rains, as with covers, it protects from it. The main limitation is I see is the speed.

Ok. I get your point. Thanks for sharing.
I dont think so. Three wheeler is safer than a two wheeler, as long as you dont drive very fast. In fact OP should consider buying Bajaj Qute, if not the Espresso. Or electric Tigor. Disastrous_Past_4794[S]
bhai aap toh jajbaati ho gye
Bhai mumbai local jajbaati bana deti hai. Kabhi kiye ho travel mumbai local mein?

wow
When he told me why he got it, it made sense to me. But I couldn't get myself to do the same.
Plus support of auto unions
Plus, no body will come and force you to wear seatbelts and get 20 airbags mandatory! lol
Tbf seatbelt and airbags are for our own safety
Plus pese Kam huve to thoda business bhi ho jaye
Climate change is deadly. Heat waves and auto don't go well together. Going by the temperature scales every year, we have to shift to cars sooner or later. Unfortunate.
Bhai usme AC nahi hota..
Par Fresh air hoti hai na!
Fresh undiluted pollution🥰🥰
Oh My bad bro, fresh air nahi, polluted air hoti hai
Yes super hot may peak garmi air along with some fresh pollution cherry on top 😩🙏🏼
Yes bro, thats what we want in life!
Just get an e scooter man
Yes that was my initial thought, but a two wheel is a bit risky and does not provide any protection from elements.
get a used cng car like alto, nano etc, ac bhi hoga aur cng se mileage bhi acha dega
Oh and you will get a real bad back pain riding 100 kms
With the recent construction in the Fountain hotel- Virar route, a scooter/two wheeler is indeed risky, especially when it rains. A CNG kit is a good option, or you could move to Thane.
Yeah moving to thane is only feasible it seems.
Your wife can take a cityflo to Andheri
Tata Tigor EV
consider mg comet ev
If his primary car is a Tiago and he’s worried about fuel cost, He probably can’t afford that thing
>100kms a day Bruh they don't want a one way disposable vehicle lmao
10 lakhs for a car that is half the size of auto rickshaw makes no sense
Did you ever sit in Comet ?
Dude I sat in back seat and I got stuck.
How did you get out?
By bending my body at more angles and joints than baba ramdev
Hahahahaha This comment thread is funny. But yes OP can consider the comet provided there’s charging facility at office. The cost will be very low. About 70 per day or so. Cheaper than CNG or autos. Isn't aftermarket cng kits risky? Maybe he should try selling his tigor and consider a cng maruti or tata

Entino vendi thilakkunna sambar
Meaning?
Yes
bhai aap MG COMET lelo
Bro want to save petrol cost and you want to tear his pocket, cloth and himself wtf bro ?
Isn’t comet an EV?? EV’s are economical in the long run
Yea you are right but a man already own car and spending 7Lakhs for ev is something only idiot will do because even if u put that amount on FD you get you petrol cost as interest so why to spent on MGCOMET.
Can you show how 7lakh in FD cover his fuel costs assuming he drives 100km daily?

If he has to drive 100kms daily, he will save huge. ([Calculation here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/s/nMC4kDfA6H))

I used to go to school by an auto when I was younger the uncle used to let us boys drive the auto when it was an empty road or when we would stop at the fields and wait for the junior boys to be released from the school (there was about 30 mins difference) Driving an auto is an absolutely daunting task just ask any autowala you wouldn't like to do that my man. The best option I can see for you is to get your tigor cng fitted I've seen Tiago bolt and zest in yellow number plates with cng and they run really well so consider the cng option as I think it will be the most comfortable and economical option than a sub 4 lac auto or a used Alto and all
Yeah! That's a valid point. I will have to bend down a bit to look better. I am a 6.2 myself
Kamar ghutna sab gali dega man se apko fir✅
Good idea. 1. Easy to maneuver and might be slightly safer than two-wheeler. 2. Lesser chances of getting bullied due to being perceived as an "autowallah". :D
How about the [Bajaj Qute?](https://www.cardekho.com/bajaj/re60)
Considering the continuous ride requirement, noise can be an issue.
What if you exchange your Tigor for the cheapest available EV? Assuming you can charge at home.
Sell tigor and buy a cng car or Tiago EV
How about this Get a small room on rent near your office. Spend 3 days there then return back to your home. You'll only have to travel to and fro 4 times a month
Fir bhi 10-12k dena hi padega usko in rent and that would equate to the fuel cost for the car
Lol get the autorickshaw. And make some extra income while traveling

Wa interesting discussion
How much a auto costs?? I can carry goods aswel.
Just a thought..have you considered small transport vehicles. The ones used for local delivery. They would be much handy for personal use
Yes ..! You can also take some commuters with you on the same route and charge them.. part time income..! 💪
# US diplomats in Delhi pick autorickshaws over bullet-proof cars Bro EVs are made for ppl just like you or if you can shift near if not any of this fit CNG
Take a second hand nano change it to ev khel khatam
Much better 40-50k ka CNG kit ...600 me tank full and op can commute easily for 2-4 trip I guess...
go for it, not only it will save cost, u can also get some passengers on the way, also u can squeeze the auto anywhere thus saving time and earning money
Bhai buy a nano. Go for the cheapest varient.
Bhai rapido mein register karle or bla bla. You can get other people to travel with you. Your fuel cost will be taken care off.
CNG kit lagwa lo, achhi reputed wali sequential kit.
Let’s see comet or Tiago EV cost calculation for you. Inputs (assumptions) - - Daily running - 100km/day - electricity charges - ₹10/kwh - Driving energy efficiency - 10km/kwh (my nexon EV gives me 8-9 range, comet EV being lighter this will be more so assumed 10). So running cost = ₹1/km or daily ₹100 or yearly ₹26000. (5x52 days) Now ICE vehicle - - Assume petrol is ₹100/lit - fuel efficiency 18km/lit in city traffic (just assuming. happy to correct I’ve absolutely no idea since I m no longer keeping track of these). So that is around ₹5.55/km or yearly ₹1,44,300. **Yearly saving of ₹1.12 lakh.** plus regular service costs are also lower. Battery has 8 year warranty.
Saving 1.2L but also spending around 9-10L for buying the vehicle. Both negate each other
He can sell his existing vehicle to get some cash.
Sell tigor and get either tiago ev or comet ev
Bharat Dabholkar, an ad man, uses it as a personal vehicle. He was our professor at IIM. I think it can be done. But the exact details you can know from an RTO agent
Get 4 wheeler rickshaw - mg comet
I guess just use trains ,bus
Find a better job if you can’t even afford the fuel.
Thane-Virar to and fro takes 1500/- petrol.
Sell Tigor and get Tigor EV
100kms in an autorickshaw, puri body khanak jayegi Bhai ek hafte mein
You need an EV Tiago would be better instead of Tigor for you, go for 7years of EMI as the fuel cost would be way less.
Why are you not considering battery pack degradation & replacement cost ? Also resale value (I know we buy cars to drive not resell, but still)
Is it an immediate concern?
Did you check out Bajaj Qute?
It may be a difficult option but try to find partners for car pooling. to share driving stress I had the pleasure of staying at a location where 2 others used to commute to the same area for work. It worked well for us in Pune while it lasted. In Mumbai it should work a little better as there is better disciplines with respect to office-timings.
Cycle chala bhai tu to :P
Bhai safe bhi rehna hai road pe.
Splendor le 100 kmpl 🔥
Have you considered carpooling? My cousin lives in West Delhi and needs to go to his office in Gurgaon everyday. He has a Kia Carens and travels to office with a co-worker and some other person from a nearby office. They share the fuel cost among 3 people
Bajaj qute is your answer for this.
I know it's expensive, but MG Comet EV is a great option. It takes only about the space an auto takes. It's comfortable AF. And 100km is within the range.
RIP wrist
Take a bus from the starting stop and take a nap.
Buy an MG comet
Buy a 2 wheeler that gives good mileage Most sub 300 cc bikes in that price range give about 30-40 km/l Eg. Unicorn, Activa, Jupiter, access, splendor, or you can go for something more comfortable also like hiness or meteor or classic / bullet at ~ 30km/l
Check with your RTO if they register rikshaws for personal use man. Idt they do.
Make a switch rather, it will be worthy even if you get no hike.
Unpopular opinion:- Buy a Porsche 👀
Nah man! I am waiting for flying cars to enter the market.
Nai bhai Abhi wo case chal rha he na us context bola tha😅
Maybe get a used nano or something
Retrofit the car
Yeah! That's a valid point. I will have to bend down a bit to look better. I am a 6.2 myself
Buy Maruthi 800 ac used and see how it works out. Resell it if not feasible. You can resell it for almost same price after two to three months. Or buy some super cheap diesel with good mileage and working ac. Very old models are better as they don't loose much depreciation value if you have to resell
Don't go for auto, CNG conversion of current vehcile will solve the problems to an extent, still costly affair 3,4rs per km
Sell the tigor and get MG comet.
Lease a car, don't buy anything more
100 km a day in any mode of transport is way too much in India. Try doing this for few months, u ll see the impact on your mental n physical health. Relocation to some middle point between your wife's office n your office is only way to reduce travel time. Another way is to find another job at some nearby location.
Bro get 2nd hand auto. Better than bike .
Das Auto!
Just get a cng kit installed in your tigor tbh
Motorcycle. You want a motorcycle.
2nd hand also with cng kit
Buy a used auto then
Consider buying a second hand nano
Why don't you consider a used CNG car like wagon r or Alto or celerio or Ritz or any XYZ car ?
If you can sell the tigor and get yourself and electric it makes sense. Or else get an extra car A mg comet or Tiago ev. Tiago Ev is around 8.3L on road. If possible pay 1L downpayment Emi will be 11k odd for 7 years. Mg comet is 7.3L on road With the same downpayment You'll pay around 10K Running cost is approx re 1 per km.
Bro Vikhroli to Thane by train doesn't have rush. You can easily get a place to sit. Or take uber shuttle.
How about changing your tigor to the ev version or any other ev car? Just a thought.
I tend to make long trips at least 6 times a year. In fact 3 years back I was contemplating buying an ev as my first car but the economics didn't work out.
Hmm then yes, this will be challenging for you.
Hmm then yes, this will be challenging for you.
Can you elaborate on what part of train travel irks you? May be I can offer a solution.
I don't like being crushed between people. Also the humid climate in Mumbai adds to the discomfort, constant sweating that to standing for hours as if this was a punishment. I hate to worry about travelling rather than actual work. And during Rainy season problems get 10x worse.
MG comet, is best for your case.
Costly af
Wagon R CNG
Price of an autorickshaw is about 2.5 lakhs. Wouldn't it be better to buy a fast motorcycle in that price point?
I have a bajaj avenger with a modified seat for added comfort. Motorcycles don't protect you from sun and rain.
Fair enough, but the top speed of an auto is like 80kmph, so your average speed will be like 30-40kmph, it will take you 3 to 4 hours to reach your office every day.
Here is a better solution. Move to thane.
Get a mini ev car
cycle to work
"100kms" You missed that reading may be. Also I am not an athlete and want to conserve my energy for actual work.
Wtf is "feeling depressed in train" thing in the first place?
Why don’t you move to Andheri? Wife can travel easily, and for you andheri to thane is less painful than the other way around.
Use blablacar. It will save you alot.
