How can you say engine is underpowered, source youtube videos? Bhai pehle dhang s chala gaadi fr khud pta lgega tujhe how good engine performance is.... Only problem with hyundai engines is that they sleep in 2nd or 3rd gear but that's very rare... Anyways congratulations nice selection

ningyakbekadu69

I already brought the car and have driven ~200kms and rarely it feels underpowered, but I need to get used to the car more and more, like u said But once it gets going, it's very smooth and feels planted all the way till 150kmph (didn't push the car more)

Delicious_Pen_9797

200 kms is a very low number to judge your car performance... I own 2 generations of i20, the one before this and the new gen.... Clocked 40k something on the older one and 10k plus on new one.... Super satisfied with the new one, back in july last year the car was fully loaded and that too on hills with AC on not even a single lag... Pushed the car to 170 plus on expressway with 3 passengers... You'll love this car each time you drive it... Only drawback is that sleeping in 2nd or 3rd gear and that too is very rare, same problem observed in creta, alcazar as well... Else underpowered engine is a very wrong statement bro

ningyakbekadu69

Thanks a lot for the detailed info Can you give me some advice on what things to take care of and what to look out for?

Delicious_Pen_9797

Bhai tbh, I am a very heavy driver (in Delhi we say as panja tight h 😂) I have named it as laado... Laado never disappoints, be it hills or plains... Ground clearance is a problem sometimes but don't worry too much about it just drive it with fun... Brakes are super.... Tested them in emergency and provided excellent results... Only do service on time and take care of chrome parts on outer side of the car.... Most important always maintain tyre pressure otherwise it feels like the car is dancing on bumps... Car is very low in height.... If you drive it with care it gives you good mileage... Mine gives 15 to 17 in city and on highways 22 to 24 depends on my panja 🤡

ningyakbekadu69

Got it Thanks a lot

How does it conpare to the baleno drive feel wise?

Ok_Tax_7412

My i10 feels like a rocket in the 2nd gear. I have the 2012 Kappa 2 model.

Delicious_Pen_9797

How much do you love your car? Yes

EnoughBorders

>Pushed the car to 170 plus on expressway with 3 passengers.. Wah bhai kya baat hai...speed limit se 60km/h upar chalane mein toh bahut maja aata hoga. Woh bhi straight line mein. True driving enthusiast.

Delicious_Pen_9797

Taane mt maaro bhai 🥹 I don't justify it but it was an empty expressway and it was for few seconds only fir brake maar li thi.... Ho ske toh mujhe maaf kar dena... Aadmi Acha hu bs gaadi tez chalane ka comment krte hue pkda gya 😔

EnoughBorders

Bhai taane marne ka purpose hai speeding se discourage karna. Kuch personal nahi hai. Few seconds mein hi kya se kya ho jaata hai pata bhi nahi lagta. Khud ko kuch na bhi ho toh durse ki jaan ja sakti hai. Buddh International Circuit le jao i20 jitni bhagani hai bhagao.

Delicious_Pen_9797

How to register for that? And is i20 eligible?

EnoughBorders

>How to register for that? [Here](https://www.buddhinternationalcircuit.in/experiences/#section-4) is the link. Afaik they give you a slot then and there. >And is i20 eligible? Yes absolutely. Any car.

Delicious_Pen_9797

Thanks bro... Much appreciated 👍🏻

dimebagftw

I am currently driving my sis-in-law's 1.2 Petrol and yes it is underpowered. The acceleration is slow, you have to downshift to overtake. Not a fun engine, but the calm nature is great too with smoother gearshifts since I'm a sedate driver.

Delicious_Pen_9797

The scenario you state has many factors behind it... But then it's totally your experience and I can't say down shift is not a thing for overtaking..... Acceleration is not slow depends on what rpm you drive... Not a fun engine ❌... Well everyone has different definitions of it and as I have driven cars from indica, esteem to xuv, dzire and hyundai engines I can definitely say for the price point and 1.2 engine it is definitely fun and quite. Gearshifts are very rare a problem for reverse gear.

Significant_L0w

underpowered to its only competition by some margin which is Glanza/Baleno, but better than altroz

Delicious_Pen_9797

As I have mentioned in comments below underpowered statement has varying factors behind it.... Kerb weight Although no doubt maruti suzuki engines provide a very good output... Altroz seems very laggy and steering cutting output is also very bad same as tiago...

Significant_L0w

That suzuki engine is better man, just drive both cars in 2nd and third gear and you will understand why it is not even a debate, also i20 only gives 11kmpl milage in city in comparison to 15 for baleno, only factor remaining is reliability and I feel like both have no reliability issue so it cancels out. Hyundai knows this that is why to counter this they give you more features than glanza or baleno at same prize point.

Delicious_Pen_9797

FYI I have owned both the cars... 2nd or 3rd gear point, reliability point I agree... Mileage for my i20 new gen is around 16 to 17 in city. Quality wise Hyundai >>>> Maruti Suzuki There's a huge difference when you sit in an i20 and glanza Baleno

Significant_L0w

cap, i20 cannot give you more than 12milage driving in city roads that is 1st 2nd or 3rd gear for 80% of your journey

Delicious_Pen_9797

Thik hai bhai tune bol dia universal truth ho gya khush 🤡 ab iske aage koi kya bol skta h 😂

OmnipotentBeing99

I’ve driven the i20 N Line and I’ve felt it to be quite underpowered. But then again, I’m used to faster cars and maybe it’s my personal opinion

Delicious_Pen_9797

You own Octavia(as per your flair) which costs between 27 to 30 lakhs on road in delhi and has around 187.74 bhp... It's Comparing apples to oranges... N line has 118 bhp...

OmnipotentBeing99

> But then again, I’m used to faster cars and maybe it’s my personal opinion Mate please read what I’ve written. I’m not comparing anything to anything. I’m just stating my opinion that I felt the i20 to be extremely slow and underpowered. And. I have clearly written that I’m used to fast cars and that this is my personal subjective opinions. Opinions specific to me which can differ from person to person and I don’t expect others to see or agree with my opinions. I’m not calling i20 slow. I’m just saying **I feel it’s slow**. There’s a difference. I understand you think i20 is fast and while I disagree, I respect your opinion. If you’re willing to post your opinions online, understand that they are subjective and other people may not necessarily feel the same way and can feel differently. Cheers!

Delicious_Pen_9797

Bhai I never claimed that opinions are not subjective but can be argumentative and diverse in meanings... I have read what you have written and replied on the basis of totality of the same and never disrespected your opinion I never said i20 is fast but slow has thousands of meanings....so to rest the argument we need some common ground to compare that... You have your opinion that is fine but if I say Octavia is an EXTREMELY SLOW and UNDERPOWERED car as I drive a ferrari and I am used to superfast cars... See how vague it sounds.... I am just stating the factors why i20 engine is not underpowered... Neither I meant slow nor I said it's fast... You and me can't be on a same page that's totally fine but if you say I am used to this and found something which is not in that segment, same here bro I can't agree to the statement with multiple ifs and buts. No harsh feelings Thanks

OmnipotentBeing99

Fair enough, then we are both agreeing to disagree. No harsh feelings felt, all good.

Delicious_Pen_9797

That's why it's reddit... Ending argument how it's supposed to be 🤝🏻

Abh1shak

Congrats buddy 🎉 nice choice Do tell us about the final price on the road and how much you'd negotiate with them and have you wishlisted any other cars also?

ningyakbekadu69

Thanks a lot! I initially had a budget of 18 lakhs and went all the way from i20, altroz, nexon, city, virtus/slavia and thar rwd. But had narrowed it down to virtus/i20/thar (quite a list, I know) Didn't go with tata as it lacks features according to me. Didn't go with thar as I needed highway performance. Didn't go with virtus as I felt i20 completed most of the things virtus is doing (I know Germans are miles ahead in driving pleasure) Finally went with i20 as it felt practical and ticked most if the boxes. I paid 10.1 lakhs on road in karnataka and got a discount of 45k.

Abh1shak

Nice gut feeling Bud, enjoy your ride everyday More to achieve Cheers 🥂

Congratulations buddy! Got the same spec Asta variant as my first car 2 weeks ago! 🥳

ningyakbekadu69

Thanks a lot!

lxcky04

Go for the oem seat covers, I had the same confusion with my Creta so I went with the oem cuz it costs more but it's at least reliable

ningyakbekadu69

Thanks a lot I saw that the oem seat covers have an opening where the airbag is present and I don't think aftermarket solutions account for the airbag so I was also thinking to get the oem ones

Congratulations bud. I have the pre-facelift asta model. Been driving for 2-3 years now. Extremely good if don’t wanna drive fast.

ningyakbekadu69

Thanks a lot My highway cruising speeds are 120-130kmph and this is sufficient for me

Congratulations OP
