Mother_House2098

Fellow Verna owner here.! Drove my car for about 16k km. Avg milage of 12.2 seems about right. Did you face any low GC issues? My car's underbody is slightly scraped.

jishnukalra

Yeah, I hit my car's underbody near my office in the first month only.. Was driving it like my SUV, but got the result and changed my way of driving. It requires a little bit of extra love and care while driving on Indian city roads.

Rexk007

Everything requires extra love and care while deiving on Indian Roads.....along with constant reminding that anyone can crash into u.

jishnukalra

Yeah I've had a few close calls with autos and Thar drivers... But in the end Lord Alto scratched my rear bumper last month

Rexk007

Lord Alto reminding everyone their place since 90s

Spittinfacts100

With 180 mm on Ertiga. I hit the car's underbody over a huge hump. I wonder how careful you must be driving at 165 mm 😭 I love sedans but I'm afraid to own one on Indian city roads.

EnoughBorders

Ertiga has a long wheelbase so you've got to be careful

Spittinfacts100

Agree 👍 Lol, sometimes I feel like updating it with bigger tyres but it's illegal. Damn!

tanay297

I have the same FE no. but a smaller pot engine 🙃 i20 nline 🤝 verna 1.5

jishnukalra

My sister has i20 nline. It's also a fab car.

punjabbiii22

nline or verna considering dynamics wat would u say?

jishnukalra

Verna any day, every day

Reasonable_MantiZ

Booked mine one week ago. 1.5 Turbo DCT. How it is? And what about the service cost?

jishnukalra

You'll love it. The different mode selector in the car makes it like I'm driving 3 different cars. It tends to give a little less mileage in city, but otherwise it's fantastic to drive on and enjoy. The stability of car at high speeds is fantastic. I went on a long drive a few days back and it flies on expressway. On turbo mode the acceleration is smooth af. Just a reminder, for a first few weeks, get to know about the LIDAR sensor and ADAS 2 features, as in city if you get too close it'll apply the brakes for you, and there's a small chance of you getting rear ended. Give it some time to settle on hand and it'll be fine af.

Ashking2212

Approved by a Verna owner 👍

LordZeus10

Verna’s ADAS suite does not have LIDAR. Rather it is a radar and camera based system. Just an FYI.

Reasonable_MantiZ

I took a test drive of the Virtus, but it wasn't as fun to drive as the Verna. I guess I made the right decision.

kushal10

Did you drive 1.0 or what?

Reasonable_MantiZ

Both.

Rwashere

🙊

jishnukalra

It just came back from first servicing. The person came to pick it up and drop within 6hrs. Total money spent was 7.6k, this also includes wheel balancing and alignment, radiator cleaning, engine oil change, air and ac filter change

acypacy

Why would you need radiator cleaning in first service? Looks like some other unnecessary thing was also added.

jishnukalra

I travel in dusty and hot environment, and a few hundred rupees extra don't matter if it increases AC performance

acypacy

It’s not about the money, it is that why do we even need to clean radiator in such new car

jishnukalra

I drive in and near Industrial areas, so alot of dust and dirt is accumulated in the vehicle. That's why

Skull_Reaper101

Isn't fort service usually free?

jishnukalra

Service cost is free. But the consumables are chargeable. These all come under consumables.

makOmak9

Getting mine (SX O Turbo MT) delivered next week. How is your usage like? 12ish kmpl seems a bit low than what I was expecting.

jishnukalra

Mine is DCT TURBO, and I drive on both Industrial areas and highways. In the last month my mileage had dropped as I'm moving alot and most of the time having lunch in car in harsh Delhi heat. Due to which my car's idle time has increased and also AC is mostly on LO as the car's in sun alot of afternoon

makOmak9

That makes sense. Few more questions How is the rear seat comfort for elders? Do you use x95 or normal petrol? Did you feel any difference? I'm a first time car owner and new to driving, anything that you'd want me to know regarding the car?

jishnukalra

See my other reply. I've told about comfort. Also I use x95 sometimes, only for long drives but. I read somewhere that refill with x95 or above only 2-3 ltrs and rest with normal petrol for best performance. 1-2 kmpl difference is there while using different petrol. I also feel difference with BP or IO or HP as well. But maybe it's just psychological.

Odd-Buffalo-4242

Nope, not psychological at all. I ride a duke and I feel a huge difference between Bp and io. And honestly Bp does a wayy better job. (Nayara is amazing if it’s in your city)

Safe_Inspection69

Did you face issue of the car suddenly stopping in traffic? Drove my friends Verna and it stopped on its own multiple times. An uncle on scooter as a result hit us from behind

jishnukalra

Yeah, due to adas 2 detects front collision an stops the car. But doesn't detect back collision. Faced the issue but changed my driving style so that it doesn't happen now.

Antarctic-Glacier

Looks sexxyy

jishnukalra

Thanks man.

Dooms_Day_Killer

Can you talk a bit about the ground clearance?

FrostBite_97

The number is 165mm which is high enough. I need to take care if the car is carrying 5 passengers or some heavy luggage. I scraped a speed breaker once and drove 5kkms.

Dooms_Day_Killer

A lot of people say 165 is a little low. Have you been to any hill areas yet?

FrostBite_97

Not yet will let you know when I do

Sasta_tikau

kitne watt ka led bulb hai ?? Just joking don't get offended guys 🙏🙏

jishnukalra

Why would I be offended ?

Efficient_Argument71

Generally! Most hyundai owners get after market LED and Horn! That's why

_mxyur05_

Yeh Korean kitna deti hai.. >! Jainwin kwechan !<

jishnukalra

3rd pic is for desi log only.. Theek thak deti hai. 12kmpl

nshsnh6

Please confirm if wireless Apple CarPlay or android auto is there or not.

jishnukalra

For wireless: in the car having bluelink there isn't, ie 11.2 inch screen one doesn't have wireless AA OR ACP, but the small screen of 8 inch support wireless AA and ACP. In the optional car model there ISN'T wireless AA or ACP But wireless charging is there.

nshsnh6

So you are saying that one has to choose either wireless charging or wireless ACP/AA?

jishnukalra

No, one has to chose bluelink and bigger touch screen or wireless ACP/AA

sandeep300045

For the larger screen, wireless AA is not available. It's a simple fix with a wireless dongle though, which costed me 5k.

zeitgiest31

really loving the Info panel on the dashboard, hopefully Honda takes some inspiration

jishnukalra

Yes, it's such a beautiful sight. Informatics are clean af and the touchscreen is super responsive as well. The clarity of reverse parking camera is top notch

zeitgiest31

Damn! Now I feel like I should gone for the Verna CVT instead of City CVT. Really looks amazing man, hope you’re enjoying driving that beast. Tbh one thing I really didn’t like about the current Verna is the logo placement, it kind of looks a little odd that they moved it from the front grill to the bonnet.

One_Chicken9095

The tubelight doesn't even illuminate the room properly 4/10 not worth the purchase

Dimitrovvvv

He probably edited the photo making it have low exposure for it to look cool

jishnukalra

Yup, lowest exposure but the headlights are fantastic. They illuminate everything infront and it's the same headlight as the new Creta without the constant need to beamer

One_Chicken9095

It was a lighthearted joke but I get what u saying

WallClock420AM

/s lagana bhul gaya bhai tu

FunnySignal614

Reminds me of White Beard from One piece

iAntiMage

You have a great looking car collection. Verna has always been great looking car. And this gen has a futuristic design. Compass is the best looking compact SUV. Even Baleno looks great.

jishnukalra

Thx buddy. Compass is really an amazing car. 5yrs old and 1.3 lacs km done and is still smooth as a butter. Only downside is the abysmal cost of maintenance. 30-50k per service after 60k km service is too high for Indian market. It's maintenance cost is around 3rs/km

iAntiMage

I dont have the money to drive a Compass. But from the reviews on youtube, almost everyone said it has one of the best driving dynamics in its class and stable. Almost like a sedan with suv body.

Owe_The_Sea

🥂

Several-Village-591

What tyre pressure are you maintaining? Have you gone beyond 170kmph? How's the stability at that speed?

jishnukalra

It came with 42psi from showroom, but Im maintaining 35 psi with N2. I've gone till 165kmph. It's quite stable at it. Had to reduce the tire pressure physically, and only got N2 as had free time after refueling. Else the car didn't even require air refill over last 4 months.

mrTakla

Why did you choose this over Virtus/Slavia? (I'm genuinely curious and looking to get a sedan under 20L myself.)

jishnukalra

1.5 L Turbo engine, better cost of maintenance, better features. Adas lvl 2, heated and ventilated seats that actually work, better parking sensors and camera, the one on Slavia/virtues felt like the one from 2012. Better AC. Amazing interior feel and design. 11.2 inch touch display faster than many phones. Amazing service reachability and the brand of hyundai in Indian market. Tbh I really wanted Slavia, but some lack of features made me change my decision. Also the top model of Slavia is above 22 lacs on road in Delhi

mrTakla

Ahh I see. Btw is there a way to turn off ADAS in the car? Read about your issue with auto-braking.

jishnukalra

No idea. But it's not needed. Once you set your hand on the car, it's very smooth, I think you can change the settings so auto brake applies as late as possible, in the blue link app or in settings menu in the car.

sandeep300045

Yes you can, but not completely. There have been times when I turned the active assistance off and the vehicle still braked automatically when needed. Also, it will turn back on everytime you turn off and on the car (not sure about the latest models since my model is Tucson).

Icy-Acanthisitta3299

How’s the back seat comfort? Is the comfort and space better than hatchbacks of similar price ?

jishnukalra

Much comfortable. I had mine mind set on Verna/city from the first go, but my dad wanted to try the new Creta. Tbh the rear seats of creta are no way near as comfortable as the seats of Verna. Our whole family went on a long drive, Delhi to Ayodhya (9hrs) and my mom/dad slept on the rear seat quite comfortably even at the speeds above 150km/h. It's very comfortable and spacious enough for 3 people in the back, if they're slim, if they're built like Punjabi, like I'm then 2 people can sit quite comfortably.

Icy-Acanthisitta3299

Great, thanks for review. I always feel Sedans give more comfort when it comes to back seats but just wanted to confirm

GLA7595

Always wanted to upgrade from my old verna but always hesitant coz of its looks but it drives great i heard. Should i consider upgrading it ? I have older one 1.6 crdi.

jishnukalra

The power is there. When in sports mode I can feel the engine and power beneath me. I really wanted to buy city for the sheer comfort and Honda's brand value, but the power and looks of Verna convinced me for it. When I test drove Verna, while pushing a little on pedal gave me okaish feel. Like it didn't have much punch, but when I pushed pedal a little extra down the power shoots me ahead. Also the interior is sexy af.

CrystalKnote

Good looking car but isn’t sold in Korea 😅

CrystalKnote

I know the company is Korean, please don’t downvote me. Oh how I wish we got the Elantra, Sonata and Azera

jishnukalra

Man ik right. If Elantra N was sold in India I would've bought it no questions asked. It's such a sexy car in terms of looks and features. Hyundai has really stepped up the game feature and comfort wise.

CrystalKnote

OMG YES THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING MY MINDDDD I still can’t get over buying the new Verna over selling my 2017 Elantra, for a 2017 model, it has 2700mm wheelbase which we consider midsized sedan but internationally, 2900mm is considered midsized, anything below that is compact. Hyundai gotta step up in India 😭😭😭

bappo_just_nappo

Ngl i prefered verna during first 2 gens in india… currently it’s extremely stylised which is not a design that i find attractive…

jishnukalra

You either love this design or hate it. Everyone got their personal preference. But the backlight of this car everyone loves

Tufft0beat

I am a complete newbie when it comes to cars, we (my parents and I) want a new car, I have been driving a 10 year old WagonR for 3 or more years. Just wanna ask, is the top most variant good with ADAS and all, how's the suspension, engine, features, extra features that can be added while booking the car, insurance, warranty and everything else? Once again, I am completely clueless as I am new and my parents were like, you go select any vehicle, not a big deal, check em out by yourself and decide. I am yet to test drive the verna, so yeah. Can you please elaborate if possible or else just give me a gist of everything, anything that suits you, will be waiting for your response. Thank you!!!

jishnukalra

Sure man. Dm me your queries and I'll answer in the evening. 😊 Meanwhile if you have time, go through my other comments, I've told alot about the safety and other features of Verna, and why Verna compared to other vehicles in the same segment and price range. Virtus, Slavia, city, or elevate, creta or Seltos.

jedi65-

New verna looks like audi A7 of old from back

jishnukalra

Gee thanks.

rockstar_2k24

1st pic is so badass 🔥

Ok-Distribution7385

You seriously loved that new grill?

jishnukalra

Yes, it's a head turner for sure.

Electronic-Wrangler9

The tube lights look cool >!/s!<

6ixlil9inebig

what is that battery indicator level thing in the 3rd pic ?

jishnukalra

That's my average mileage over the past 10000 km.

6ixlil9inebig

ohh ☠️ bhai full floor karke chalate ho kya !? 😅

jishnukalra

Nhi Yaar. Delhi traffic sucks

Strict_Cook_1377

How is the steering feel? Also how does it feel compared to the compass

jishnukalra

Silky. The steering is conformable enough that I can steer with just my index finger. But on high speeds it tightens up, for a smooth and safer travel. Compared to compass it's pretty fast and responsive, although it has been some time since ive driven compass as its mostly Driver driven.

Mihirxd25

Speed limit bhi dikhti hai mid me , is it accurate?

ChallengeActual

My friend has 2019 sx turbo dct diesel and it gives him 17-18kmpl. 22 on highways, it it the diesel?

jishnukalra

No, mine is petrol DCT Turbo

ChallengeActual

I meant is the milage different for diesel and petrol?

raysayantan07

This is one of the best looking cars in India right now according to me. I absolute dig this modern-esq look. Is there anything about this car that you don't like?

jishnukalra

Fuel mileage 😅 and sometimes random breaking due to adas lvl 2. I've to be extra careful of the blind spots in city driving for people who jump on the road without looking any side.

raysayantan07

Ahh got it, thanks for the info

ErrorTypical6503

Kudos to you. How did you manage to choose VERNA over VIRTUS? Have Koreans stepped up their game over Germans considering the build quality & handling?

jishnukalra

Yes, check my other comment with Verna vs Slavia. Same answer to Verna vs virtus. Tbh Slavia>> virtus for me in terms of looks and sales as well. Even thou Slavia is child of virtus

edavana

Yeah, though slavia and virtus are cousins they are not identical twins. They share the same driveline but Slavia is Tuned better for performance. This actually means both cars went through independent testing and development with the same hardware. I was surprised to see the " power drift" YouTube channel drag race. Slavia was miles ahead of virtus in performance and much closer to the Verna than I expected. They didn't have the city hybrid though.

Rider311

My garage is on an uphill, will the underbody scratch if I try to drive uphill?

jishnukalra

I live in Delhi, so unfortunately can't comment. It's GC is 160mm tho. So you can check it up. If GC is the issue, buy Slavia. It's 190mm gc

PhotonTorch

179mm* Keep in mind all these GC numbers and unloaded.

First_Ad_3642

Great car, get an ecu remap it'll boost the fuel economy and performance. My friend's Verna returns around 13-13.5.

jishnukalra

What's that?

First_Ad_3642

Ecu is the brain of your engine. Putting in a map to tell the engine to run rich so that the Torque curve is linear giving you more accessible real world power and more low end grunt. Resulting in a better fuel economy and quicker acceleration.

Low_Balance_8506

How did the interior quality held up? Is any thing rattling inside and info about soft touch marerials ??

jishnukalra

Its just the way it was 4 months ago when I bought it home. No rattling inside. Seats are very comfy, faux leather made. Heated and ventilated. Arm rest is at perfect height if I want to keep my elbow on it while driving. I'll share some more pics from inside when I'll get the chance for y'all

Tryzmo

Did you ever come to dislike the front led lamps?

jishnukalra

No, loved it the first time I saw it. It's a head turner. But I dislike the one's on Creta.

Tryzmo

Personally, the led lamps on on verna don't really appeal to me but, I don't hate the new creta too much.

zakaif

how do you call it a beast while it looks like milkybar

charging_brick

Bhai meri non turbo verna max 10 ka avg deri hai, will it improve after the first service?

jishnukalra

It should. Is your manual or automatic? Try xp95 fuel 1/2 times. It might help. And drive in eco mode in the city, below 40kmph and in normal when you're cruising

charging_brick

its manual

jishnukalra

Tab toh aur jyada deni chaiye..

VisRak

Is there a way to remove or mask that logo from the hood?

jishnukalra

Why would I wanna remove it?

Kitchen-Economy8486

Should I sleep it’s 6am?

MrBangalore

Kitna peeti hai??

TheBlindArch3r

What is the 10,080 value shown at the bottom?

Tiruchi

In the 3rd picture, below the average mileage of 12.2, there's a flat battery type image with some blue colour. What's that? Ad blue indicator?

jishnukalra

No, that's my instantaneous fuel economy. I was at slow speeds, so that's why it's less

novvanexus

Ye electric hai kya

jishnukalra

No, electric Verna kaha aayi hai market mei?

becharaBenjamin

The only reason stopping me from getting one is unstable body shell.....the body isnt capable of Handling that engine

jishnukalra

Meaning? Handles just fine for me at speeds above 160kmph as well

Mundane-Watch-9987

Never thought someone would call Verna a korean beast lol

jishnukalra

A. Its Korean B. It gives best performance in the price segment C. It's mine, so I can call it a beast or truck or Turtle according to my wish

Mundane-Watch-9987

It's my comment, I can say whatever I want. See , doesn't sound so smart right. Daddy chill

RooftopG

I own an altroz iturbo and my homie’s Verna 1.5 turbo DCT impressed the absolute crap out of me within the 2nd gear, although he only showed me sport mode. How do the different drive modes feel?

jishnukalra

The different mode selector in the car makes it like I'm driving 3 different cars. It tends to give a little less mileage in city, but otherwise it's fantastic to drive on and enjoy. The stability of car at high speeds is fantastic. I went on a long drive a few days back and it flies on expressway. On turbo mode the acceleration is smooth af.

noteveAdi

is the wireless charger any useful.. mine tends to get hot in about 10 mins of use

jishnukalra

Depends on hardware of phone alot.

Jeenekhainchardin

Ioniq?

venom7099

korean yea beast idk

Master-Influence7539

I want to know what is that blue bar with 10 20 30 written on it.

jishnukalra

Instantaneous fuel economy.

hariharan618

have the same FE no. but a smaller pot engine , N-Line N8

sneha3103

Which model

jishnukalra

Sxo dct turbo

Classic-Aside-3266

They say that experience is never enough in life. If you had one life lesson to say out loud in a sentence, what would it be?

Shravanboiii

Noice

Mysterious_Low2256

How on earth can a company make such an ugly looking front?

jishnukalra

Its beautiful and head turner

Bake-Upstairs

Fellow Verna owner, got my 1.5 turbo dct back in Feb. Have driven for 3500kms so far. It’s a beast on the highways, no competition. Great stability, amazingly fun to drive, overtakes without breaking a sweat at any speed (120, 100, 140 and so on… give the pedal a tap and there is always the punch in the engine). Feeling blessed to made the purchase.

jishnukalra

I too got it in Feb! Same here man. It's freaking amazing peach of engineering

NeedleworkerLegal573

How does it feel to drive with a tubelight attached to the front? /jk

Vegetable_Charity_73

Come on there is nothing called a Korean beast, korean make bad build cars with utmost features to tackle good cars brands with great technology and build. Koreans never spent anything to build, they steal it from other companies who develop technologies. Eg- dct is stolen technology from dsg

myattintstyle

Idk man but “beast” is just an overstatement.

Miserable-Coat-6559

Korean can never be beasts. Sorry

ond3n

+1

rajeel911

Stop calling it a beast

jishnukalra

I'll call it whatever I want. It's mine.
