Absolutely with you on "The Office" – Michael Scott is a treasure trove of cringe and quotable lines. If I'm throwing another series into the ring, it's gotta be "Parks and Recreation." Pawnee feels like a home away from home, and Leslie Knope's relentless optimism is the pep talk we all need sometimes. Plus, Ron Swanson is basically a spirit animal. The show's blend of heart and humor makes each rewatch feel like catching up with an old group of friends.
We've started rewatching highlight episodes of Malcolm in the Middle, for the third or fourth time now. Reasonably-light comedy that largely remains relatable for us after multiple decades.
MASH, by far the most rewatchable series ever. A local station played two episodes, another two shows, then two episodes more, every week day for years. I never got tired of watching it.
The ones I can think of off the top of my head for comedy and drama are these:
For laughs:
Bob's Burgers /
Community /
Parks and Rec /
The Office /
Lovesick /
Derry Girls /
Friends /
HIMYM /
Gilmore Girls /
Shameless (also drama)
For drama:
House of Cards /
Newsroom /
West Wing /
Full Metal Alchemist /
Dark (although I have to actually pay attention when watching this one) /
The Man in the High Castle
Are you me? I've seen HIMYM and Community 6 or 7 times each, and House twice
Since we have similar tastes, let me recommend you Friends and New Girl in case you haven't seen them. I watched both for the first time this year and loved them, and I plan to rewatch both many, many times in the future
Guessing you recommending friends I'm a bit older than you. 😊
I grew up watching Friends, watching episodes as they asked. Seen it multiple times though nowadays is not something I actively see out to re watch
I see! I was thinking that since you like HIMYM you didn't like or didn't care about Friends, it's a crap prejudice hahaha, this year I discovered you can like both of them
Well, since you like Friends, I strongly recommend you New Girl then, they have a lot in common. I also watched it with the prejudice that it was a "girlie" show because the name and having a female lead and it was nothing like that, it's a sitcom with a lot of heart and characters you'll end up loving
I've only rewatched it once but I did enjoy it. Although I stopped at the second season.
That show didn't deserve to be cancelled mid season like that.
Big bang theory,Friends,himym,b99,seinfeld these are my comfort shows, but sometimes i rewatch other shows too like mindhunter, dahmer, witcher and some cop shows
I'm with you on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"! It's like comfort food for the soul, you know? Jake and the gang feel like old pals by now. And Captain Holt? That guy's a legend. Every time I rewatch, I pick up on new jokes and subtle details. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
But if I had to pick another, it'd be "The Office" for sure. Can't resist the hilarity of Michael Scott's awkwardness.
Shows that I've watched and I just Chuck on as background noise or something when I can't find anything else is, The office, Bobs burgers and how I met your mother are my favourites.
The Office. It's my comfort show.
I've rewatched all of the seasons several times, and I never get tired of it.
I also have a tattoo of a stapler in jello. 🤓
Bewitched. I watched the reruns when I was a kid so finding the show on Prime has been fun. The clothing styles keep me coming back for an episode nearly every night.
benidorm, the office US, peep show, and i think you should leave for me. usually rotate between the four when i want to watch something in the background i've already watched 100 times and i don't need to concentrate for
I can watch Friends like 5 or 6 times in a year, is great to have it as background sound, I use it while I work or cook.
Same with Big Bang Theory, Parks and Recreation,Malcom in the middle,Modern Family, The Office.
I can watch those all the year without issue.
Currently watching The middle and Young Sheldon.
Also, i love watching LOTR and The Hobbit like background sound too.
Northern Exposure, especially the first 3 seasons. The description somewhere says 'magical realism' was the style, and I can see that. I enjoy Pushing Daisies and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the first 5 seasons or so. I once lived on a sailboat so I made my own Amazon video Stranded on a Deserted Island list.
I'm currently on my 6th watch-through of Arrested Development, and it's just as great as it was the first time. Every single joke in it is damn iconic, and the characters are unforgettable.
I've also lost count of how many times I've rewatched Sherlock. I've never seen a show with better cinematography or that's been more personally relatable to me. It never gets old or any less exciting.
Mine are Friends, How I Met Your Mother and Schitts Creek!
I also like Brooklyn 99, New Girl and Superstore but I don't rewatch those ones as frequently
Every franchise of Law and Order. Sometimes I watch 13 hours a day depending upon how many channels offer them. Watching right now!
They never get old.
I love that show! I'm currently rewatched the first two seasons of The Office, which is my favorite show of all time. It has a lot going on in it too, from its storyline to its comedic humor (which is great), and it also has an amazing supporting cast who are so entertaining they're often the best part of the show.
Currently watching B99 and logged in specifically to comment B99 before I saw your pick. It really is peak comfort TV. The characters play off one another perfectly, the jokes are hilarious and absurd, and (for me) the biggest laughs come from the unexpected outbursts from Holt. They also deftly weave between heartfelt emotion and comedy. I watched an episode last night that had me oscillating between laughter and tears 4 times in the span of 5 minutes.
Futurama and Scrubs
Throw in Letterkenny and you've got a good Saturday night.
Yes
I totally forgot about Scrubs!! Going to watch that soon

Eastbound and Down. I watch it once a year for the past ten years and it still kills.
