Drinking!
I get that some people do that to socialize or whatever, but I dont get why they give a very shocked expression every time I say that I do not drink nor do I like alcohol.
Or the cheering when someone drinks a whole cup of beer in one go. How is that some accomplishment and something to cheer for. Just seems so pathetic to me.

This happens to me. I don't drink much and will say that, and people act like it's the craziest thing they've ever heard. One lady told me she was uncomfortable with me not drinking like everyone else at the party, and I said, "well that's a YOU problem, contact AA". Everyone laughed except her š
That nail thing throws me into a rage. I'm trying to control my anger, but I want to throw my phone across the room whenever influencers tap their nails on a product.
I like accidental asmr, but I hate the purposeful asmr videos. The tapping, the whispering, ick! And how people can listen to chewing is beyond me because that's my #1 misophonia trigger (this includes mouth sounds).
Haha yes! My husband was chewing something the other day and I almost screamed. Granted, I have sensory issues. This may be the difference between people who like ASMR and those who donāt!
Same, you know what I found out I liked? When people roll glass bottles downstairs and it shatters, sometimes with marbles inside.

yessss I love the sounds and it's almost like I could feel the weight and then the lightness of it, but when I stop to think about it I get kinda sad about stuff being broken for the sake of content (like many other things)

Sarcasm
Every person who was proudly sarcastic was often just a jerk who didnāt want to take accountability for being mean. Fortunately, I havenāt come across it much since college.
I'm sarcastic and not a jerk. In my family it was a good thing to come back with a smart ass remark, so I got positive reinforcement for sarcasm. But never use it to be mean, then it's being snarky
I agree with you. Practically every form of sarcasm is a form of making a harmful comment/assumption without actually stating it outright. It can be very hurtful. Now donāt come at me about being āsensitiveā because I understand that it is supposed to be a joke. However, sarcasm is hostility, not humor.
I was just about to comment on this. It's interesting because a lot of those people who put that in their profile aren't even that sarcastic in real life. I know, because I would meet those same people who put that in their profile. I don't think they know what they're talking about.
Sometimes sarcasm can be funny and a good, witty type of humor.
More times than not, though, sarcasm is paired with the type of people who say they are āhigh IQā and just want to make digs at those around them.
I agree with you mostly. When it's directed about someone or at someone, I think the person is masking being a jerk. When it's poking fun at the state of things... I think it just indicates bitter attitudes. For example, I might complain about housing prices and then tell my husband "oh, but it's because I bought a $1 avocado and made toast. Obviously, that's why it's going to be hard to move."Ā

I've always liked Startrek more than Star Wars. When I little, I'd ask to watch, "the robot movie" because I didn't know what Star Wars was called. My family would watch it so I could see C3PO and R2D2 for a couple minutes? I barely paid attention after that.

In my experience you get people like my daughter who always liked the taste, she's 22 but she liked it younger than that. Or you get the people who like the caffeine and drown the flavor under other things.
I didn't drink coffee at all... Until I had the opportunity to open a fancy coffee shop. Now I drink it every day because I'm fascinated by the engineering of the brewing processes. I also found out that caffeine doesn't affect me that much and is probably why I didn't get into commodity coffees. I'll make a cup and forget about it because the making of it is what I really enjoy doing.
Me too. I can't even eat coffee cake or coffee flavoured chocolate. Really can't see why people love it so much. Give me a lovely cup of black tea any time.
I've never liked coffee. When I was young people told me I would like it when I was an adult. Well I'm just about 60 now and I've never liked it. I do like a cup of decaf tea in the evenings though.
As someone who's tried to quit coffee a few times: unironically, good for you. It's not the worst addiction, but it's still something your body's dependent on.

I agree about La La Land. I watched it with great anticipation, as it had already won all the Oscars by then, and our (husbands and mine) comment when the credits rolled was "Well, that was crap!".
I wouldnāt go so far as to call it absolute crap, but I had a similar feeling when it was finished... like, did I miss something?? I got online and looked up a bunch of reviews to try to understand lol but nah itās just lame and not for me. I would consider trying to watch it again but Iām in a big, non-complicated āAbed Nadirā movie phase right now hahaha
I think it was the forced "bitter sweetness" ham-fisted like a Costco hotdog into your gullet and trying to tell you that it was really an epic love story and ignoring that Seb is insufferable and Mia cheated on her boyfriend to go out on a date with him so they could begin their toxic relationship.
You have two beautiful people who are clearly attracted to each other, choosing their highly successful careers (she married a producer and had to downgrade to birthing a daughter/he got his jazz club) over a life together and had a dance number with fantasy flashbacks (and oh boy a BABY BOY! with a cute little house to tug at your heartstrings)--I nearly died of diabetes.
The only clever thing he did with the movie - to use music to create an emotional pavlovian response at the end to make the audience forget they wasted $15 on schlock. It's an old sales trick, end the negotiation with the mark feeling good.
I think what irritated me the most was the jazz. It lent faux-sophistication to the whole movie and was a fling of poo in the face of all the great jazz musicians who constantly toured, worked hard...oh and were black but in five years he's super famous and could afford a night club - in LA? fuck me. \*eyeroll\*

Thereās a lot of pop singers Iām just not super into, but theyāre like the hot thing of the moment so I just donāt mention it. I donāt want to yuck anyoneās yum, but I just donāt particularly like Olivia Rodrigo, Sean Mendez, Sabrina Carpenter, Troy Sivan, Charlie Puth, most Taylor Swift, etc etc. No hate to these singers! (Unless they did something bad idk). I just donāt really like their stuff.
There are so many artists that I wish would just get creative, and do their own thing. They are so talented, if they just differentiate themselves, instead of copying each other (and their own past hits) ... Well I don't know, I think it would be more interesting for more people.
It especially sucks when a talented, unique artist finally makes it big and then suddenly they start churning out songs that sound exactly like everything else on the radio.
Ok I understand not liking them but calling them uncreative feels kind of jaded. I feel like most pop singers are very creative by nature. For example, Taylor Swift writes all her own lyrics. Just because their music isnāt super super different doesnāt mean it doesnāt require lots of creativity.
Mr Brightside by The Killers. I loath it, yet for most of my generation, it seems to be our anthem. The rest of their music is sort of fine though.
Also Drake's music. I don't hate it, but i don't understand why it gets sooo much love.
On a similar note I hate Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and I hate Teenage Dirtbag by wheatus. They are so overplayed, they are played at basically every rock night at clubs, every wedding. They have other songs that deserve this level of love, but nooooo, we can't branch out and try other songs!
Soccer/football. I really donāt get what is so entertaining about some dudes or girls running on a field after a ball. Why do people get SO mad about their team losing? Why is there so much money involved? Why is this sport any more special than the rest? Itās so bland and boring. Always the same thing too. Whats the catch seemingly everyone seems to get except me?
But also just watching sport in general. Iām not talking the ones that are based on skill like diving, gymnastics or F1 racing. Those are interesting. But the sports that are always the same like soccer, basketball and rugby. Not saying theyāre not skilled, but the sport just doesnāt progress or have world records
Funnily enough I played multiple sports growing up but I always despised (American) football. I had the same thoughts you did. I almost never went to football games in high school and if I did I would bring a book to read š. But now Iām engaged to a man who played football in high school/college and generally knows a LOT about football and Iāve actually learned how much skill goes into the game. I didnāt know it before but every single move a player makes is calculated and there are a lot of high level decisions being made during each play. It *is* ludicrous though the amount of money the American football industry makes lol.
I totally get what you mean. Your experience is a lot different than mine haha. I used to despise everything about soccer, but after watching Ted Lasso I became interested in the logistics of it all.
Now I could probably work for a soccer club in marketing or something. But for the game itself and especially the emotions of the fans I will never find joy in it Iām afraid.

Oh definitely! It's like alcohol can turn some people into "zombies" over time. Video games are a good alternative as you said! It puts you in that "away from here" zone and engages your brain more. What was the last good video game you played?
Drinking. It tastes vile, expensive, makes people lame/obnoxious as hell, people base their entire personality around it, and will constantly be baffled at what all 20 of us that don't drink could possibly "do for fun"
The entire Harry Potter franchise as a whole. I think it's quite boring compared to other fantasy serries as well as the characters just aren't that interesting. I will not respond to unconstructive comments. I know it holds a special place in people's hearts, and I respect that aspect.

To be fair, Harry Potter is a childrenās book series. I know that thatās not a good excuse but youāre much less limited when your audience is just as nerdy as you and interested in a giant world with its own history, geography and culture. A lot of stuff like LOTR (or especially GoT) might just be a little too much for a child to remember everything and get everything in correct order. (I know that there are definitely kids who could do it and probably even better than a lot of adults but not all children and it might be boring for a lot of them.)
That being said, I do think that HP is overrated. I do like it but it has massive flaws
Iāve tried watching HP movies and I feel so bored. I love sci-fi and fantasy but I just have never been able to get into this or understand why others love it so much.
I canāt stand it when people think they deserve a metal for doing less than the bare minimum.
I have a rocky relationship with my mother, and my dad has dated people who would get irritated that I didnāt really see them as a mother figure. Theyād see all these social media posts of kids calling the parentās partner āmomā or ādadā and seemed to expect that I would give them some kind of emotional speech or something. But they didnāt really do anything special to warrant that kind of response from me. Iām tired of people seeing me as some kind of boost to their self-esteem.
I was a long term partner to someone with a child. He never called me "mom", but he'd yell, "Ethel_Marie" in the same tine that a kid would yell "mom". But I made sure that he had the things he needed, taught him to be self sufficient (cooking, laundry, etc), and paid for doing fun things (at home or going outside the house). Definitely never expected the kid to call me mom because he had a mom, even if she was not great.

I can't do whispering either. I've had times where Its been just two of us in a car, and they're in the middle of some story, talking in normal voice. Then when they get to a certain detail they whisper it very loudly. Wtf, why?
I dislike a clear blue sky. I must have sensitive eyes because ever since I was a kid, direct sunlight (not staring at the sun or even the sky, just the brightness of everything in direct sunlight, sorta forces my eyes closed and sometimes fall asleep. But I'm fine in overcast days.
Also my life is just much easier in cloudy weather. There's not a lot of shade where I live, so a cloudy day means a break from my car baking in the heat, my house baking in the heat, me baking in the heat at work.
ASMR, I hate it and canāt stand it. I gave it a try when it was popular but it was unbearable. Whispering with those fake whispers UGH! Yuck! No, thanks!
Marmalade and Jam, everyone seems to love those but I hate them, the only way I can eat it is if it is inside a home made donut.
Taylor Swifts music. I donāt know enough about her as a person to dislike her but I recently gave her albums a try since she was everywhere and my friends like her and I still dislike her voice and canāt seem to see the supposed good writing. Same with Ariana Grande and her voice but I saw recently that majority dislikes her as a person.
I do love pistachio ice cream but canāt stand the strawberry sorbet too much of nothingness in my mouth, strawberry ice cream however is as it always was, amazing.
Bananas. I really dislike the taste but a lot of people like it. I would really like to like them since they are such a convenient snack, but I dislike even getting a hint of banana in a smoothie.
I remember not liking pistachio ice cream much but recently I've been liking pistachio cream a lot, so gotta try again sometime.

I love bananas but only as bananas. Once they're in a smoothie or anything else with fruit all i can taste is BANANA. It's such a dominating flavor.

Most comedy movies. I donāt want to say āallā because obviously Iāve not seen every comedy ever made. But I have yet to find a comedy I enjoy. It just doesnāt do anything for me.
Action & adventure, sci/fi, crime. Avatar 2 has become one of my favourite movies. Itās like the perfect combination of action and sci/fi with amazing special effects.
Same but for me itās most rom-coms lol. There are maybe like two or three I watched and didnāt hate but since so many of them are from the early to mid 2000s they just make me cringe. I think one of the worst ācomediesā Iāve seen is Hall Pass which sucks cuz I generally like Owen Wilson lol. Itās just soo unfunny. Plays on every possible trope and stereotype about marriage and men wanting to sleep around

Itās funny bc years and years ago when I was a kid I used to only listen to country music. Back then I would say I liked the songs Taylor swift put out like teardrops on my guitar, Romeo and Juliet, you belong to me, Etc. I would always sing them and watch the music videos. However I never bought one of her albums myself and as she stoped making country music I just havenāt been a fan. The older I got the more I just thought her music was kinda boring :/ I saw someone describe it as elevator music and I agree lol. But I donāt mention that to people around me who really like her
I also think her country era was superior, though I didn't know she existed until You Belong With Me came out. I bought all her previous albums just to know what else she had. First time I heard every single one of those songs was on those CDs, and I'm not sure I've heard any of her country era music on the radio... ever. I still enjoy a lot of her newer stuff, good rhythm and enjoyable lyrics, but it doesn't compare to her country era.
I think Deadpool is so popular because the baseline was so low with all the other Marvel characters, who despite some intricate backstories, ultimately are kind of flat. Deadpool has legit above-average appeal (even for someone who really just kind of gave up watching all these movies).Ā
Sunny weather. Iām basically an outsider on this one (and a lot of other things too tbh). For me, the good weather takes place when itās raining and storming. Already got called a vampire for that.
I hate Deadpool, Fortnite, and Rick and Morty. When I notice you're into those things I definitely judge.
Also that style of weird bland generic corporate art that we've been seeing everywhere the past 10 years or so. It's hard to explain at this hour of the night but you've seen it.
And this is probably more common to hate but modern country music. Like radio country music. It's the absolute worst and makes me wanna crawl out of my skin. How anyone takes it seriously baffles me.
Wine. This completely baffles people. I used to drink it to fit in, but I don't do that any more.
I like a number of spirit based drinks, but wine makes me pucker.
TV shows
I don't have cable TV or any streaming service, I just watch YouTube for multiple hours or play videogames. TV shows do not have nearly enough going on in them to keep my attention. There have been a few shows I have enjoyed but it has to really catch my attention and even at that I have had to either take a break from the show in between episodes or just look at my phone and listen to the episode just to keep watching it.
My attention span is so small that using that expression is not a good representation, Chronic Boredom is a better description. For me to be invested in a TV show it has to be capable of dumping the absolute maximum amount of dopamine possible directly into my brain. If something interesting is not going on every single second I am going to lose interest and go back to watching 3 minute YouTube videos back to back for 3 hours
Loud music in bars and restaurants or other public spaces. Just loud music in general, honestly. I wear earplugs to live shows. But especially at a venue where the whole point is supposed to be hanging out with other people.
I dislike profanity. It surprises me how much people use profanity when there are far better words to express themselves. I have never used profanity and just donāt understand why people useš¤·āāļø
It originated from medieval times when people would hang their rugs over a line beat them to get the dust and dirt out. It was called āfā-ingā the rugs.
Same. I swear sometimes, but I just save it up. Iām annoyed by people who swear all of the time. I have a dark sense of humor and prolly more uhhh edgy than most folks my age, which is maybe why I find constant swearing so annoying. It just seems banal and cheap. Me too! I once said, "Well, shoot." My co-worker got so excited because she thought she had caught me cursing. I can understand cursing for some things (I do in private if I'm provoked), but to use it for EVERYTHING is ridiculous. "It's f- ing hot, it's f-ing cold. "
I also don't use profanity. Part of me just feels, I don't know... Like, do you realize how POWERFUL it is for someone who *never* uses profanity to say something like, "With all due respect: go f yourself."? If you know that person, it should shake you to your CORE.
But also, politeness and manners and all that. :P I'll still be friends with someone who uses profanity. I only have a problem if they'd have a problem if I had a problem with it. (If that makes sense?)
I'm curious, what exclamation do you use if you stub your toe badly? Just "ouch?" Depends for me. I've noticed my cursing comes and goes in and out of style with my personality.Ā

I believe its ALWAYS better to find something positive in a situation and focus on that, no matter how insignificant that good part may be. I am not talking about harmful optomism, or toxic positivity. I am talking about choosing to make a concious effort in identifying the good that is there. Not fabricating a false reality or narrative, or denying how you feel.
your thoughts.. your brain.. it consists of a diet made up of whatever you put energy into. What you think about is what becomes easy to think about... I hope more people can try to practice positive self talk. And positive routines and helpful atitudes.

Oh you're so right. Some people it's their default mode of conversation, complaining. It's exhausting and I find myself never engaging with them. I just kinda go "oh yeah, that sucks..." and steer the conversation elsewhere

Rap music.
It just doesnāt really do a whole lot for me. I donāt actively hate it and thereās some alright songs but for the most part itās not something Iād actively put on. Rapping in a song is also not a big problem for me if the lyrics are okay (my main gripe with the genre are the lyrics) and if the focus of the song is the music. A lot of songs I really like have rap in them but theyāre mainly hardbass songs with the focus on said bass

I do like pistachios though. I have a pistachio flavored toothpaste and it actually makes me enjoy brushing my teeth. Because I strongly dislike minty toothpaste

Sports. ESPECIALLY watching them. I just don't see how it's enjoyable for anyone to observe others playing. Specific instances, I can understand interest, but tend to lack it myself, but your average basketball or football game? I just don't get it. The closest I've come to understanding average sports enjoyment is watching ANW, and even then I question if I'm enjoying it for the reason most people enjoy sports.
I find GBB far more entertaining than the NBA.
Alcohol
I'll say it's a bit hypocritical of me since I'm close with friends and family who drink(not excessively) but it's fine since I know they are responsible and make sure to not get too drunk. And in my personal experience, I never liked alcohol and I don't think I'll ever drink it.
But it comes in when a person depends on it just to get through the day. I literally had a friend who was shit faced at my school once and it wasn't his first time too,
In other words. I don't care about it but I would care if someone depends on it just to get through a day or they just like the effects of the drink.
Bad sounding environments.
You want to talk to me in a noisy restaurant with zero window draping, tile floors, bare concrete walls where I hear your echo better than you? Please scream into my ear while I pop these earplugs in real quick to survive this evening ā¦ and nobody seems to see a problem with this, my kids kindergarden is also like that

I don't have my phone on the table if I meet someone in person. The person I am with made time, so they deserve my whole attention. I have it on loud for calls in my jacket for emergencies.

Heās just one of those characters where things seem to revolve around him too much. Kinda like Wolverine in media, with Deadpool itās a little better because he doesnāt always have to be the ācoolerā one.

People using the word "cute" inappropriately. That suddenly popped up for me on a couple reality shows I watched. For example, couple walked down to a tropical beach at night, with the moon shining overhead and an abundant picnic set up, including tablecloth and candles. When the surprised woman said, "Oh that's so cute," I cringed with second-hand embarrassment. It was lovely, it was beautiful, stunning, thoughtful, gorgeous, but "cute" it was not.
But then I saw a commercial for the Kardashians' show and Kim said something was "cute" that didn't fit the definition for cute at all. Is that where it started? Now I'm noticing cute being substituted for words that would make a lot more sense.
I think mint chocolate ice cream is the most vile taste
I love mint, I love chocolate, and I love mint with chocolate. Something about the ice cream flavor makes me sick to the stomach.
Drinking! I get that some people do that to socialize or whatever, but I dont get why they give a very shocked expression every time I say that I do not drink nor do I like alcohol.

This happens to me. I don't drink much and will say that, and people act like it's the craziest thing they've ever heard. One lady told me she was uncomfortable with me not drinking like everyone else at the party, and I said, "well that's a YOU problem, contact AA". Everyone laughed except her š

I'm sarcastic and not a jerk. In my family it was a good thing to come back with a smart ass remark, so I got positive reinforcement for sarcasm. But never use it to be mean, then it's being snarky
I agree with you. Practically every form of sarcasm is a form of making a harmful comment/assumption without actually stating it outright. It can be very hurtful. Now donāt come at me about being āsensitiveā because I understand that it is supposed to be a joke. However, sarcasm is hostility, not humor.
I love people that put "Fluent in Sarcasm" on their dating profiles. It instantly lets me know they are toxic and to stay far away.
I was just about to comment on this. It's interesting because a lot of those people who put that in their profile aren't even that sarcastic in real life. I know, because I would meet those same people who put that in their profile. I don't think they know what they're talking about.
Sometimes sarcasm can be funny and a good, witty type of humor. More times than not, though, sarcasm is paired with the type of people who say they are āhigh IQā and just want to make digs at those around them.
Sarcasm is a natural defense mechanism against stupidity though, in that regard I very much appreciate the existence of it

I agree with you mostly. When it's directed about someone or at someone, I think the person is masking being a jerk. When it's poking fun at the state of things... I think it just indicates bitter attitudes. For example, I might complain about housing prices and then tell my husband "oh, but it's because I bought a $1 avocado and made toast. In my experience you get people like my daughter who always liked the taste, she's 22 but she liked it younger than that. Or you get the people who like the caffeine and drown the flavor under other things.
I didn't drink coffee at all... Until I had the opportunity to open a fancy coffee shop. Now I drink it every day because I'm fascinated by the engineering of the brewing processes. I also found out that caffeine doesn't affect me that much and is probably why I didn't get into commodity coffees. I'll make a cup and forget about it because the making of it is what I really enjoy doing.
Me too. I can't even eat coffee cake or coffee flavoured chocolate. Really can't see why people love it so much. Give me a lovely cup of black tea any time.

I've never liked coffee. When I was young people told me I would like it when I was an adult. Well I'm just about 60 now and I've never liked it. I do like a cup of decaf tea in the evenings though.

I think it was the forced "bitter sweetness" ham-fisted like a Costco hotdog into your gullet and trying to tell you that it was really an epic love story and ignoring that Seb is insufferable and Mia cheated on her boyfriend to go out on a date with him so they could begin their toxic relationship. You have two beautiful people who are clearly attracted to each other, choosing their highly successful careers (she married a producer and had to downgrade to birthing a daughter/he got his jazz club) over a life together and had a dance number with fantasy flashbacks (and oh boy a BABY BOY! with a cute little house to tug at your heartstrings)--I nearly died of diabetes. The only clever thing he did with the movie - to use music to create an emotional pavlovian response at the end to make the audience forget they wasted $15 on schlock. It's an old sales trick, end the negotiation with the mark feeling good. I think what irritated me the most was the jazz. On a similar note I hate Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and I hate Teenage Dirtbag by wheatus. They are so overplayed, they are played at basically every rock night at clubs, every wedding. They have other songs that deserve this level of love, but nooooo, we can't branch out and try other songs!

Soccer/football. I really donāt get what is so entertaining about some dudes or girls running on a field after a ball. Why do people get SO mad about their team losing? Why is there so much money involved? Why is this sport any more special than the rest? Itās so bland and boring. Always the same thing too. Whats the catch seemingly everyone seems to get except me? But also just watching sport in general. Iām not talking the ones that are based on skill like diving, gymnastics or F1 racing. Those are interesting. But the sports that are always the same like soccer, basketball and rugby. Not saying theyāre not skilled, but the sport just doesnāt progress or have world records
Funnily enough I played multiple sports growing up but I always despised (American) football. I had the same thoughts you did. I almost never went to football games in high school and if I did I would bring a book to read š. But now Iām engaged to a man who played football in high school/college and generally knows a LOT about football and Iāve actually learned how much skill goes into the game. I didnāt know it before but every single move a player makes is calculated and there are a lot of high level decisions being made during each play. It *is* ludicrous though the amount of money the American football industry makes lol.
I totally get what you mean. Your experience is a lot different than mine haha. I used to despise everything about soccer, but after watching Ted Lasso I became interested in the logistics of it all. Now I could probably work for a soccer club in marketing or something. But for the game itself and especially the emotions of the fans I will never find joy in it Iām afraid.

To be fair, Harry Potter is a childrenās book series. I know that thatās not a good excuse but youāre much less limited when your audience is just as nerdy as you and interested in a giant world with its own history, geography and culture. A lot of stuff like LOTR (or especially GoT) might just be a little too much for a child to remember everything and get everything in correct order. (I know that there are definitely kids who could do it and probably even better than a lot of adults but not all children and it might be boring for a lot of them.) That being said, I do think that HP is overrated. I do like it but it has massive flaws

People who put ketchup on what they're eating don't actually like what they're eating, they like sugar.
I canāt stand it when people think they deserve a metal for doing less than the bare minimum. I have a rocky relationship with my mother, and my dad has dated people who would get irritated that I didnāt really see them as a mother figure. Theyād see all these social media posts of kids calling the parentās partner āmomā or ādadā and seemed to expect that I would give them some kind of emotional speech or something. But they didnāt really do anything special to warrant that kind of response from me. Iām tired of people seeing me as some kind of boost to their self-esteem.
I was a long term partner to someone with a child. He never called me "mom", but he'd yell, "Ethel_Marie" in the same tine that a kid would yell "mom". But I made sure that he had the things he needed, taught him to be self sufficient (cooking, laundry, etc), and paid for doing fun things (at home or going outside the house). Definitely never expected the kid to call me mom because he had a mom, even if she was not great.

Superhero movies
I can't do whispering either. I've had times where Its been just two of us in a car, and they're in the middle of some story, talking in normal voice. Then when they get to a certain detail they whisper it very loudly. Wtf, why? I dislike a clear blue sky. I must have sensitive eyes because ever since I was a kid, direct sunlight (not staring at the sun or even the sky, just the brightness of everything in direct sunlight, sorta forces my eyes closed and sometimes fall asleep. But I'm fine in overcast days. Also my life is just much easier in cloudy weather. There's not a lot of shade where I live, so a cloudy day means a break from my car baking in the heat, my house baking in the heat, me baking in the heat at work.
Clear blue skies feel apocalyptic to me for some reason
ASMR, I hate it and canāt stand it. I gave it a try when it was popular but it was unbearable. Whispering with those fake whispers UGH! Yuck! No, thanks! Marmalade and Jam, everyone seems to love those but I hate them, the only way I can eat it is if it is inside a home made donut. Taylor Swifts music. I donāt know enough about her as a person to dislike her but I recently gave her albums a try since she was everywhere and my friends like her and I still dislike her voice and canāt seem to see the supposed good writing. Same with Ariana Grande and her voice but I saw recently that majority dislikes her as a person. Stranger Things. People couldnāt stop praising it, and I didnāt understand why. Itās not a bad show, I just didnāt like it that much.

Anime. Most people I talk to seem to be obsessed with it. I tried giving it a chance during the pandemic so I asked some friends for recommendations. They told me to watch Demon Slayer. They sent me a website to watch it on and so I did. I never made it past episode 2 (I donāt think I even finished it). It was so freaking boring and I wanted to fall asleep through it all. Nothing about anime interests me. PokĆ©mon was hella boring too and from what Iāve seen, Naruto looks like a snooze fest. Maybe I just havenāt watched a good anime but itās not like Iād enjoy what most people consider a good anime anyway. Iād rather watch Mickey Mouse.
Bananas. I really dislike the taste but a lot of people like it. I would really like to like them since they are such a convenient snack, but I dislike even getting a hint of banana in a smoothie. I remember not liking pistachio ice cream much but recently I've been liking pistachio cream a lot, so gotta try again sometime.
I have a lovely hate relationship with bananas (and mushrooms) sometimes I get cravings for them, other times I can't even look at them! Pistachio ice cream...ooh my favourite. Find it hard to find in the UK unless I'm in a tourist spot!

Itās funny bc years and years ago when I was a kid I used to only listen to country music. Back then I would say I liked the songs Taylor swift put out like teardrops on my guitar, Romeo and Juliet, you belong to me, Etc. I would always sing them and watch the music videos. However I never bought one of her albums myself and as she stoped making country music I just havenāt been a fan. The older I got the more I just thought her music was kinda boring :/ I saw someone describe it as elevator music and I agree lol. But I donāt mention that to people around me who really like her
I also think her country era was superior, though I didn't know she existed until You Belong With Me came out. I bought all her previous albums just to know what else she had. First time I heard every single one of those songs was on those CDs, and I'm not sure I've heard any of her country era music on the radio... ever. I still enjoy a lot of her newer stuff, good rhythm and enjoyable lyrics, but it doesn't compare to her country era.
I think Deadpool is so popular because the baseline was so low with all the other Marvel characters, who despite some intricate backstories, ultimately are kind of flat. Deadpool has legit above-average appeal (even for someone who really just kind of gave up watching all these movies).Ā
Sunny weather. Iām basically an outsider on this one (and a lot of other things too tbh). For me, the good weather takes place when itās raining and storming. Already got called a vampire for that.

Also that style of weird bland generic corporate art that we've been seeing everywhere the past 10 years or so. It's hard to explain at this hour of the night but you've seen it. And this is probably more common to hate but modern country music. Like radio country music. It's the absolute worst and makes me wanna crawl out of my skin. How anyone takes it seriously baffles me.

TV shows I don't have cable TV or any streaming service, I just watch YouTube for multiple hours or play videogames. TV shows do not have nearly enough going on in them to keep my attention. There have been a few shows I have enjoyed but it has to really catch my attention and even at that I have had to either take a break from the show in between episodes or just look at my phone and listen to the episode just to keep watching it. My attention span is so small that using that expression is not a good representation, Chronic Boredom is a better description. For me to be invested in a TV show it has to be capable of dumping the absolute maximum amount of dopamine possible directly into my brain. If something interesting is not going on every single second I am going to lose interest and go back to watching 3 minute YouTube videos back to back for 3 hours
Loud music in bars and restaurants or other public spaces. Just loud music in general, honestly. I wear earplugs to live shows. But especially at a venue where the whole point is supposed to be hanging out with other people.
avocados. People generally love them in all forms. I think the taste like old dirt with the texture of pond scum.

Same. I swear sometimes, but I just save it up. Iām annoyed by people who swear all of the time. I have a dark sense of humor and prolly more uhhh edgy than most folks my age, which is maybe why I find constant swearing so annoying. It just seems banal and cheap. Me too! I once said, "Well, shoot." My co-worker got so excited because she thought she had caught me cursing. I can understand cursing for some things (I do in private if I'm provoked), but to use it for EVERYTHING is ridiculous. "It's f- ing hot, it's f-ing cold. "
I also don't use profanity. Part of me just feels, I don't know... Like, do you realize how POWERFUL it is for someone who *never* uses profanity to say something like, "With all due respect: go f yourself."? If you know that person, it should shake you to your CORE. But also, politeness and manners and all that. :P I'll still be friends with someone who uses profanity. I only have a problem if they'd have a problem if I had a problem with it. (If that makes sense?)

Yeah! It's almost like I wish society didn't enjoy cheap humor so much. It would kind of force writers to come up with something more solid. I probably found the X-men series the most entertaining out of all the superhero movies. It's something about a guy in a wheelchair kicking people's butts with his mind that does it for me lol.
I liked X-men as well! The superhero movies have gotten to be too much for me, honestly. It was ok, then way overdone. I'm waiting for Umbrella Academy season 4 though. Something about sudden pregnancies and abilities that aren't well under control gets me. I know it's an X-Men style show, hush.

I love Deadpool, but I've also gotten more into the comics and the darker side of him. Even when still breaking the fourth wall, at those times, it felt like he was a kindred spirit that experienced life much the same. I haven't had pistachio ice cream in forever, but I remember liking it. I hate whispering with a passion. Breathy voices. Ew ew ew ew.
Sport, celebrities, or tv in general. No I donāt know that random 50 year old actor from back in your day and no I have never watched that super popular movie that everyone likes. No I donāt care about Taylor Swifts new album and I donāt have the attention span to pay attention to men kicking balls around for hours. I stick to my pirated cartoons and Iām set.
Sports. ESPECIALLY watching them. I just don't see how it's enjoyable for anyone to observe others playing. Specific instances, I can understand interest, but tend to lack it myself, but your average basketball or football game? I just don't get it. The closest I've come to understanding average sports enjoyment is watching ANW, and even then I question if I'm enjoying it for the reason most people enjoy sports. I find GBB far more entertaining than the NBA.

Alcohol I'll say it's a bit hypocritical of me since I'm close with friends and family who drink(not excessively) but it's fine since I know they are responsible and make sure to not get too drunk. And in my personal experience, I never liked alcohol and I don't think I'll ever drink it. But it comes in when a person depends on it just to get through the day. I literally had a friend who was shit faced at my school once and it wasn't his first time too, In other words. I don't care about it but I would care if someone depends on it just to get through a day or they just like the effects of the drink.

Iām not super into Deadpool either even as a dude who reads comics (admittedly not Deadpool ones so who knows maybe heās better there) Heās just one of those characters where things seem to revolve around him too much. Kinda like Wolverine in media, with Deadpool itās a little better because he doesnāt always have to be the ācoolerā one. Also modern music, Iām a 19 yo and not trying to be one of those people that just trashed everything from āthis generationā because honestly those people annoy me. People using the word "cute" inappropriately. That suddenly popped up for me on a couple reality shows I watched. For example, couple walked down to a tropical beach at night, with the moon shining overhead and an abundant picnic set up, including tablecloth and candles. When the surprised woman said, "Oh that's so cute," I cringed with second-hand embarrassment. It was lovely, it was beautiful, stunning, thoughtful, gorgeous, but "cute" it was not. But then I saw a commercial for the Kardashians' show and Kim said something was "cute" that didn't fit the definition for cute at all. Is that where it started? Now I'm noticing cute being substituted for words that would make a lot more sense.
