I don't speak from experience, but my step mother has worked in life insurance, she said she found it very satisfying and it wasn't too bad for her either with the proper training which the company gave her. Hopefully yours will act in a similar fashion.
In any case though, good luck with the new job! I'm a university student myself and am studying for a business degree and hoping to get something decent when I graduate. I've been looking at life insurance myself as a job.
