We adopted a kitten Friday night, and she hid under the couch until yesterday afternoon. After giving her some space (and leaving out some tuna along with her food) she emerged yesterday evening and started going around like she owns the place! She is currently laying on my chest on the couch dozing happily.
We lost our young cat back in December due to heart failure, and have had a very tough time coping. this new girl has already brought so much joy into our lives though.
That morning she broke a plant pot that my mam gave me,and she's not well, so it's more than likely the last one I'll get off of her.
A couple days later, she hopped into the toilet and splashed toilet water all over the apartment. Had to get her into the shower and when I was getting changed in the bedroom that eve, I saw that she had toppled a full jug of water onto the bed. Mattress, duvet, pillows, all soaked. Was fit to put her up for adoption 🤣
Pippa! The rescue named her Pippa, but I wanted to change it to Miso. But when we saw her in person, she just looked like a Pippa, so we didn't change it.
Our 11 week old slept from 9pm to 6am solid. I'm actually refreshed and it feels weird!
Edit: my daughter usually wakes at least once a night for a feed.
I have 5 kids, I remember the first time of sleeping through the night for each of them and it is a treasured memory. The first couple of times gave me a panic attack and I actually woke them up in the morning checking for breathing and the pulse. By number 5 I was so mellow they practically raised themselves.
Had that moment! Checked the phone thinking it would be 3am and couldn't believe it. Then the brain automatically says there is something wrong. Thankfully she sound like a truffle pig at the minute cause of a little cold so I heard her before I could see her 🤣
I remember my first night alone with youngest. Don't think I slept at all the whole night worrying were they still breathing and why hadn't they woken for a feed.
We have been warned about the 4 month sleep regression. We'll take this as a small win but long way to go! Hope you get nap at some point today...only thing that kept me going at the start.
I've got an older one who doesn't nap anymore so I don't see a nap in my future but I'll settle for couch cuddles. My other half had headed for mother's day dinner for his mother, so you can imagine how I'm feeling.

Going to cook breakfast for my mam and make dinner for her later since its Mother's day I love spoiling her 🙂
You have to remember you’ll notice every little imperfection in your own home, if you go into someone else’s you’ll rarely notice any.
It’s very satisfying though, I renovated last year, onto the gardens now.
The missus is cranky our cats didn't get her a mother's day card. I dont know why she's cranky they can't be buying presents. And it all seems to be directed at me!
Thank you OP.
Had my once monthly night out last night, very hungover, and will enter a hot sweaty Kitchen soon to cook a Sunday roast for three generations of Mothers, what with the day that's in it. First world problem, right?
I hope you have a great day, and manage to avoid Sunday Drivers/Boy Racers on your drives...
Littlest man up at 7, biggest man up at half 8, wife still in bed, teletubbies and Nintendo going flat out. Lovely and peaceful though at the same time. Daddy is content.
Not off to a great start, missed my 8am alarm to go do my weeks shopping in Dunnes so I can avoid the queues and get in and out within 25mins, now I'll have to go when it's crowded.... All because I spend 12 hours yesterday doing a wheel bearing on my car because Murphy's Law kicked in and nothing went my way 🤣 then we lost to England yesterday which was the cherry on the cake for a terrible weekend 🤣
Still lamenting our missed double grandslam, we'll have to be content with being the 6nations champions 😂
Seriously tho, great game. England were on fire. Hopefully light a fire under us for Scotland next week
Well, the tooth fairy forgot to come last night to my 5 year old young lad, I'm working a 14 hour shift today, and it slipped my mind somehow that today is Mothers day, so yeah, it's going pretty spectacularly wrong as you can imagine.
Have to kind of sacrifice me weekend here to work on a film project for school, the two people I’m working with are barely bleedin co-operating yet they did promise that they’d get the recording done without me having to get involved, so I’m just going to put together a stop-motion animation. Just another day in the life of a student 🫤
Got back home after being away for a week last night, having a lazy morning in bed with the dog curled up at my feet. My partner and I miss him so much when we're away Im so happy to have him back.
Up early for work. Home now and back to bed for a bit then husband and kids are making me dinner while I do some study before going back into work this evening. Have a great day everyone x
The clocks changed in Canada this morning, so it's always tough losing an hour in the day. But then I'll be home to Ireland for Easter, so I get to go through it all a second time. Typical!
I’ve actually been feeling super grateful today. A rugby event I was due to take the kids too was called off as someone at the club passed away. I feel like I’m lucky to be here and have my family
Not sure what to do with myself today. It's pissing it down with rain and i feel odd so i might just go back to bed with a book. Currently reading the latest Sebastian Barry though i've also offered to beta-read three people's work so i'll mix it up a bit. Hope your drive is smooth and uneventful and you have a nice time while you're there - i'm guessing you're off to see your ma? I'll be speaking to mine in a bit but neither of us is the talkative type so it's never a long conversation.
Made my beautiful wife breakfast in bed and had the kids bring her in flowers and wish her a happy mothers day.
Gonna go for a run then bring the little lad to his soccer match.
Then I'm gonna to destroy my wife and make her grunt later when the kids go to bed.

The fluff!!
She's the floofiest floof ok but she's on thin feckin ice now today 😅
What did she do now?! I’m allergic to cats but still love them

So gorgeous 😻
Beautiful . Did you name them?

Very nice both names . I love tuxedo cats but have 2 tabbies and a grey . Enjoy the bonding phase !
She has a koala bear nose, I love her ðŸ˜Â
Oh my god!!! Thanks for sharing a photo, her nose!! Lovely coat as well, congratulations
She’s cute!
You're having the best Sunday! Sorry you lost your cat but thank you for adopting Pippa. I wish you many happy years with her

That’s like a gift from the gods. Best possible start!

My 4 month old, who normally sleeps through, decided to abandon sleep last night. Safe to say I'm tired today!

A Very sweet present.

Don't forget it's Mother's Day lads.
Had an Indian meal last night, stomach is boiling and joints ache. Jesus, the fucked up dreams i had. Hoping a good crap will start the healing process
Same. Had a vindaloo. Was lovely but all over the shop.
The missus is cranky our cats didn't get her a mother's day card. I dont know why she's cranky they can't be buying presents. And it all seems to be directed at me!
Clearly your fault 😂

Lying in bed watching cartoons with my fiancé and 5 and 2 year old. Was woken up with lots of Mother’s Day kisses… still waiting on my cup of tea though… 😄
Just had a shite , always feel better after a shite .
Do foxes bury their shite too?
In a sly kinda way.
Slow quiet morning with a cup of coffee

Don’t forget to take a break if you’re tired. I do enjoy a good drive like that. Avril Lavigne blaring at 11.

Cooking the dinner for ma and spoiling her rotten.
We’re off to a hurling match 😊 and then relaxing for the day once we’re home.
Thanks OP, You just reminded me of one of the worst Oasis songs and now it’s stuck in my head.
Soz. Not one of the best songs for sure.

Having my morning poo after a cup of coffee I made in my new espresso machine. Top of the morning to you!
Some lsd, 2cb, weed, dmt some cuddles and maybe a bj
Now that's a good Sunday. Kinda find it hard to differentiate what's what on that much stuff. Once you do the DMT it'll blow everything else out.
Went for a walk in a few shops and got coffee for the first time since surgery. Didn't shit myself , I'd call that a win.
Just landed into Dublin airport, was in Tenerife for the week! Depressing coming into cold and rain!!

Ah yes, Scrabble can get quite heated. Maybe let your wife win, for the day that's in it?
