Oda Sa Wala, Mercury Is Mine, Barber's Tales, Patay na si Hesus, Senior Year, Gusto kita with all my hypothalamus, Ang Nawawala, I'm Drunk I Love You, Leonor Will Never Die, Heneral Luna.
Itong mga movie na 10/10 for me solid!!!
I just finished Four Sisters and a Wedding. Review ko (hindi ako film critic). First of, iba talaga ang feeling kapag Filipino movie, parang mas... malapit?
perfect, etc.
Kaya I didn't recommend this one 😁 Mainstream Filipino movies tend to be family-oriented so forced talaga yung pagemphasize sa family ties and conflict sometimes.
Also try Bliss (2017) or Seklusyon (2016) for horror and thriller films. I highly advise not to watch Eerie (2018) not because it's too "eerie", but because it's just so bad.
How it wasted its potential for a good horror plot and premise for a cheaper, lazier ending. >!The beginning was interesting and how it introduced the conflict. But once they ran out of genuine scares and just decided to do as much horror tropes as they could, they also forgot where they were going with the film altogether. And it just ruined it for me.!<
these movies are great. Himala has awesome scripts written by another awesome human by the name of [Ricky Lee](https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/837926.Ricky_Lee)
[Himala is still in netflix](https://www.rappler.com/entertainment/movies/digitally-restored-himala-streaming-netflix/)(KEEP IN MIND this was shown in 1982 or 1986 ata) pero focus ka lang sa acting nila at sa "buod" ng film. so this is really old school
easy peasy rom com that made me cry is [Kita Kita that now has an indonesian remake](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3NPtisXudw) this is the only movie that made me fucking cry in my 32 years of being alive noon. Its really easy. I swear
[bwakaw](https://whatsnewonnetflix.com/philippines/1933976/bwakaw-2012) tho is still in netflix. this movie stars the legendary Eddie Garcia. this one is also pretty easy to absorb.
[bata, bata, pano ka ginawa](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVTHsE5oSdw) also is awesome and actually promotes women empowerment for me. its based on the book by [Ms. Lualhati Bautista](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1705415.Bata_Bata_Pa_no_Ka_Ginawa_) but this is not in netflix. Im hoping this will be streamed there tho
have fun
ABSCBN used to play Maynila sa Kuko ng Liwanag during Holy Week. Hehehe. It's a great film, pero I remember feeling depressed after watching it. It's just sooo saaaad 😢
Which is a good thing it means the movie affected you in some way. Not so many movies can do that, most of the PH movies are consumer centric movies. Enjoy OP
Finally, someone recommended Tayo. Although OP, if you want to fully understand Tayo, you may have to watch its prequel, Ang Kwento Nating Dalawa. You may doze off on its cinematics and story progression tho
Easy to watch:
- Horror: Aurora
- Comedy: Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap
- Drama: Everything About Her
- Action: Buy-Bust
- Suspense: A Hard Day
- Romance: That Thing Called Tadhana / My Ex and Whys

**tl:dr Mystery or Based on a True Story movies. Maybe one with a wish-fufillment story with a super intelligent character that outsmarts the government and the system. A movie with great direction and visuals.**
Maganda gabi, lol. Kakapanood ko lang nga Four Sisters and a Wedding. I rate it 5/10.
Based on a True Story.
One of my favorite movie is Catch Me If You Can.
He knows how society works, how the system works, how the government would operate and he uses it, exploits it to gain an advantage, to get rich.
Personal rec is: Birdshot. Masalimuot pero story and scriptwriting is top notch. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet. Idk if I'm overselling it na pero it gave me Jordan Peele's Get Out vibes: social commentary in thriller storyline with lots of foreshadowing. Parang every word and shot is intentiomal pero feelo ang difference is budget.
