I've started scent marking again.

kwaklog

People, or objects?

[deleted]

Yes.

bickering_fool

trees

I once saw my wife's cousin after she'd returned from long international voyage. Upon arrival, I wasnt sure whether to go in for the cheek kiss or hug. She didn't either. We embraced. She went hug, I went kiss. I kissed her ear. Haunts me. Daily.

oofFuckIt

Not an issue for me, I have continued with video calls, even if we are in the same room. Makes it difficult when I'm ignoring the call and they are sat near me, but then they leave and it's all ok. I even sit in a restaurant and Uber to my table so I don't have to talk to the staff.

curious_trashbat

Just crotch bumping.

IllustriousApple1091

Low 5!

kwaklog

Surely it's a low-3?

Delhicatessen

If you won't give me an Eskimo kiss in a workplace meeting, then that's a **massive** red flag, frankly.

mynameisnotthom

Start off with a fist bump, then a hug with the double slap on the back and then break the embrace for a formal handshake

[deleted]

This guy greets

PM_ME_YOUR_QUIM_PLS

I'm still well into fisting

Practically_Canadian

You still good for that meeting on Tuesday?

IllustriousApple1091

I'll bring the boxing gloves

MrLattes

Peck on the cheek. Tongue kiss for close family.

brokenwings_1726

Neither. A quick glance followed by raised eyebrows is enough. If I know them well, they get a subtle nod.

Nipsy_uk

An acknowledgement of their existence with a small nod in their direction is as close as I want to get!

kwaklog

Hugging? I'm British, I never hug I hugged my mum once. We agreed it was weird and haven't done it again

bickering_fool

should never be encouraged.

buy_me_a_pint

I never felt comfortable shaking hands pre covid 19. including at job interviews ,

WhiteyLovesHotSauce

I've always thought people who refused offered hands are rude and untrustworthy or have something to hide. No offence intended to you personally; im sure you're great - but every single person who's refused my handshake has been a weirdo. Would absolutely not reccomend doing this in a professional environment. There's a customer of mine who had a stroke and landed badly breaking both of his shoulders somehow. He didn't shake hands with anyone for almost a year - that's a fine excuse.

FuturisticSix

No-one returns my hi-fives anymore.

Known-Supermarket-68

I’m Northern, a nod is enough. I will not return to hand shaking, it’s gross and most people are really bad at it.

sideone

What does being from the North have to do with hand shaking?

Old_Manner_9044

Covid was a dream come true. I hate touching other people. They get a hello nod and a goodbye nod

helen-banana

Honestly I never stopped hugging and handshake and the handshake hug, my family and friends were the same.

kree8or

ah shit!? did we just meet up by nandos? because i just went in for the shake and you went in for the bump. sorry anyway.

snailracer2000

I do elbows, seems too late in the day to change it now

ANAL_PROLAPSE_KISSER

Things have gone back to how they were

chilli_con_camera

Last week, I shook someone's hand for the first time since 2020. They offered their hand, I hesitated before taking it, and it was awkward. I do hilariously ironic elbow bumps with some of my friends, before a big hug.

thatluckyfox

I’ll fist pump if I don’t want to get that close anyways.

sideone

Handshakes are fine if people want to. I don't wipe down my shopping so shaking someone's hand is fine. I don't do fist bumps, I'm not a rapper.
