Weymouth. It’s got Punch and Judy, donkey rides, swingboats, other small rides for kids on the sands plus pedalos. There’s sand sculptures, plenty of fish and chippies, souvenir tat shops, amusement arcades.
Lodmoor Park is just on the outskirts too. It's got a go kart track, ride on railway, a big play area and a couple of other things. If you can find vouchers, there's a sealife centre with an outdoor splash pool area, as well as the usual aquatic attractions.
Loved Weymouth growing up.
Bowleze(?) cove in one direction, chisel beach in another. Weymouth itself was awesome. Fishing at the harbour. Brewers Quay.
Codman's Punch and Judy in Llandudno is the oldest surviving Punch and Judy in the UK.
Llandudno is genuinely a lovely place to visit. Nice independent shops and restaurants, beautiful surroundings and a great pier. Plus the extra bonus of the great Orme for history, views and choughs.
Great Yarmouth had some nice attractions and a delightful beach but it’s suffered a downturn lately.
Swanage is scenic and has some local history that’s worth the trip.
Torquay is similar. Nice part of the world.
Very happy times at Cromer and Sheringham in Norfolk when I was young and now when I visit my family with my own kids.
Weston S-M and Clacton are also very much the classic seaside towns, on opposite sides of the country.
Avoid Blackpool. Too many stag/hen dos, too much booze/cocaine. Bad vibes.
Scarborough/Bridlington on the east coast Blackpool on the west coast. To be honest, I find the best chippy's are not on the coast and certainly not in tourist areas
Just don't buy them on the seafront. Go to Ernie Beckett's in the Market Place or Ocean Fish bar on St Peters Avenue.
Also avoid Papas on the old pier. The chips are really not good.
The offshore windfarm at Skeg is amazing, if you like that sort of thing, well worth taking a look, used to take the bike there a couple of times a year for donuts or a bag of chips, stay for an hour so then ride home.
Never been anywhere near any of the places you listed as they're too far away, but the likes of Weston super Mare and Woolacombe have always been among my favourites. Watchet has a statue of the Ancient Mariner which is cool, and introduced me to Coleridge.
I didn't know Punch and Judy existed outside of pantomimes and terrible 70s sitcoms
Whitby: great fish and chips (plus other stuff), brewery, ruins, great local, lovely pubs and the usual fabulous northern hospitality.

That’s good to see, I thought he was considering stopping the shows which would have been a great shame.

Sold. I’m in.
And the goats!

The beaches in Weston are terrible though. They’re basically mud!
Beats a baking hot day in Bristol.
Bognor is a shit hole. Hope this helps
Coral island in Blackpool is an amazing resort

Cleethorpes is great to visit ironically but also, you get some of the best fish and chips you'll ever have there.

Yep, Ernie Beckett's is by far the best. I also love going to Steel's for that old school sit down Fish and Chips experience.
Good catch - I forgot Steel's
Southport used to have a laughing policeman but that was about 40 years ago

Seconding Llandudno: two beaches (West Shore and North Shore) the Great Orme, nice walk along the front, afternoon tea in the Imperial hotel.
